The goal of Encyclopaediae Pokémonis is to be just as international as Pokémon itself, and helping aspiring Pokémon wikis in languages we don't yet have is a great way to help achieve that goal. However, if we don't even know who the possible aspirers for Encyclopaediae Pokémonis's ninth language even are, there's no way any growth can take place. If you speak or understand a language that's currently not represented in Encyclopaediae Pokémonis and happen to find a wiki in that language with aspirations to join Encyclopaediae Pokémonis, then don't hesitate to drop me a line. Remember, an aspirier can't grow if they remain sheltered from the world!

If you understand Brazilian Portuguese, or know someone who does, then the Portuguese arm of Encyclopaediae Pokémonis is in desperate need of your assistance. Many, if not all, of that wiki's articles are in dire need of improvement, be it massive cleanup or even adding some real content to begin with. Their sysops are never around to handle things, and their interwiki bot has done nothing since late September--of 2008. The fact that a trusted member of Encyclopaediae Pokémonis has fallen into such disrepair is disturbing, to say the least. Brazilians do not deserve quality this low. If you can help improve the Portuguese end, then I highly recommend you do so. Today.

Question about an edit summary

Here you said you had to use Google to check if Ho-oh or Ho-Oh is used. But last time I used Google I couldn't search capped and uncapped terms, because they give the same results. So tell me how do you do that? TheBlazikenMaster 15:26, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

I used Internet Explorer's page-search function in tandem with the Google search. In IE's Find dialog box, I typed what I was searching for, in this case Ho-oh, then checked the "Match case" field, then scanned the results from there. This made weeding out the sore thumbs near-seamless.

The reason I had to use Google in the first place was because Bulbapedia's own search function can't handle words under four letters, and it doesn't recognize Ho-Oh as one word regardless of how it's capped. --Shiningpikablu252 21:09, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Good chance

[Brock's Marshtomp[1]] has a good chance of being a Male. The reason is that it is a starter's evolution, which has an 87.5% chance of being male! And, i said there was a chance!!! And, it is a 100% chance that I still don't know how to make the right kind of link!

"A good chance" doesn't cut it around here. Either it's confirmed or it's not. And Brock's Marshtomp's gender is unconfirmed due to lack of hard evidence, both on its own end and on the end of that Flaaffy it went gaga over. Yes, I'd recommend resuming the redirects. The deletion in question happened back in 2005, when Bulbapedia wasn't nearly as big or as well-organized as it is today.

Well, it's quite simple. Not all of Advanced Generation takes place in Hoenn. AG132 is the last episode that takes place in Hoenn, with the scene shifting to Kanto within the episode. Any episode between AG132 and DP001 takes place in Kanto. --Shiningpikablu252 23:47, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Diamond & Pearl Card Errata

Yes, it's me again. I just don't go away, do I? =P

Anyway, I wanted to talk about how certain card pages should tackle card erratas. Electivire from Secret Wonders, for example, has been erratad. TCG Pages for Pokémon

By which I mean stuff like Croagunk (TCG). What's the point? I mean, seriously, what is the point? They're empty. Most of 'em don't even exist. They would just as easily go as one list under Croagunk (Pokémon)#In the TCG. Even if that doesn't work, there surely has to be a much better alternative than how it's done now.

If a card is notable or has many different variations, like Charizard (but not including minors like Abra), maybe they warrant their own page. Actually, I'd say they do. But that doesn't amount to 491 Pokémon.Probably nowhere near...god knows. 30 or 40? If that? Cipher 21:08, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Well, for starters, implementing what you're proposing would undo a big project Politoed666 undertook. The old lists from those sections were, let's face it, not very well kept. Additionally, over time, more cards will be released, more of those pages will be created, and those pages that already exist will get bigger. Naturally, you'd expect pages for a Generation I Pokémon to generally be big and those for a Generation IV Pokémon to generally be small, but trust me, keeping these pages is better in the long run. --Shiningpikablu252 21:14, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Then I would strongly suggest that they need cleaning up, because some of them (most, in fact) are a mess. I mean, there are headings that are only being used for one or two cards, such as gym cards or Light Pokémon cards. And there are tons of errors all over. Cipher 21:34, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Could you look at this to make sure there aren't any huge mistakes (since you are the admin who knows the most about the TCG), I was thinking about making some of these because that is what is clogging most of the Wanted Pages, these disambiguation pages.
