Is there a Pokéfanon section of Bulbapedia? {{User:Murzon/sig}}

Revision as of 22:28, 5 September 2007

Upload images to the Bulbagarden Archives instead of linking to them from other sites. Additionally, Pokémon is spelled with an e-acute, and all new pages MUST be categorized. --PAK Man Talk 03:55, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

New pages

New pages must be categorized. TTEchidna 03:17, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Put [[Category:(category name)]] at the bottom, filling in (category name) with whatever category you want it in. If you want it in multiple categories, do it again. Just check out the very bottom of most pages. TTEchidna 03:30, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Poli, don't make me have to remind you again... C-a-t-e-g-o-r-z-e. Deck archetypes should go in the Deck archetypes category. And don't forget the Project Decks notice! TTEchidna 23:42, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Link templates

They're wonderful. Use {{TCG|Set name}} to link to a TCG set, as opposed to just square brackets. Compare Fossil to Fossil. Also, since Mysterious Fossil is a TCG card, try to follow the guidelines in Project TCGDex... heck, it might be best to make separate articles for the "old" Mysterious Fossil and the "new" one, since they're pretty different. I'd say put the old one at Mysterious Fossil, and the new one (if its text doesn't change at all to the present) at Mysterious Fossil. Of course, I barely have anything from beyond EX R&S... so I dunno when they started using the new one. Whenever they did, though, put it at Mysterious Fossil (Set name #). TCG card names

When linking to them, above all, DO NOT use the plain old square brackets. More often than not it'll lead to a redirect to the article on the Pokémon species as it is across all media (but mainly in the main series of games), but sometimes it'll end up at a disambiguation page that has no information on the card itself. I would personally, when making articles about powerful decks in the TCG, link to the actual card being used with the {{TCG ID}} template. Basically how you use it is to set it up like so: {{TCG ID|TCG set|Card name|Card number (English releases)}}. For the Team Rocket set's Dark Golduck card, which is #37, use {{TCG ID|Team Rocket|Dark Golduck|37}} to make Dark Golduck. Sure, it may result in a red link... but that just tells us that we still need to make the article.

Hoo boy... I'm gonna have to have a talk with Happy Mask Man and Pie... I don't think the TCG's yet covered in the MOS as much as other things. Anyway, I've made an article on a classic TCG deck, Haymaker. Use that as an example, even if it's little more than a stub. We need to improve the scope of the project greatly, going into more detail... I've never played a Haymaker deck before, though, so I'm going with what I remember. The strategy of the deck needs to be used, as well as a typical card list. TTEchidna 05:49, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Uploading files

That's done at Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki that you have to register again for. I know it makes very little sense, but by using it that way all images can be used everywhere on Bulbagarden or something. Anyway, just click "Upload File" in the toolbox on the left side of the page. Register if you haven't already, and when you do, go and upload the image. You have to, of course, tag it with the drop-down menu. TTEchidna 03:31, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Ah, yeah, you gotta register your email address. Zhen put in some security features so that people wouldn't upload porn and stuff... if you ever saw what happened to the featured article of Bulbasaur back on Wikipedia you'd know what I mean. TTEchidna 22:11, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Pearl team

Might wanna edit that... you're currently kinda using Darkeiya's stuff... TTEchidna 01:41, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
