Pokémon TCG Images

Hi, I noticed you've done a lot of work on the TCG pages. I don't know how much they'd help, but I've got a lot of TCG images on my system (just over 40). I don't know if they'll help you, but I can send them to you if you want. If you want to know what they are, I can either send a screenshot of them to you or just list them. I can send the images either via email, or Windows Live Messenger (MSN). Anyway, let me know if your interested. Regards, Double Dash 15:34, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Edit: Just a quick list: 8 images (one Japanese) from Diamond & Pearl; 11 images (Japanese) from Mysterious Treasures; 8 images (Japanese) from Shining Darkness; 8 images from EX sets; 2 display box images; the Worlds 2006 card back; 4 Worlds 2005 deck box images and the Worlds 2005 logo; 4 Worlds 2006 deck box images; 4 Worlds 2006 card images, one to go with each deck. That's actually 50 altogether, not just over 40, and I've probably got some more elsewhere. They're from various places, and all have been released by press releases either by Pokémon USA or Pokémon-Card.com in Japan. Edit at 16:02, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Concerning images for the cards themselves, its Happy Mask Man you need to talk to - I tend to handle TCG lists and related topics (some of which need some attention), after several card articles I did myself have been edited in favour of his system. I would do articles for the later sets, such as Diamond & Pearl to ease his workload, but he'd need a lot of work to add to it anyway, what with the Japanese translations and the GameBoy version of the TCG, etc. - I can't do any of that. I'd prefer not to tread on his feet. Although we will need images eventually of the English cards, its not my place to determine when. Cheers for the heads-up though. nuva-kal, 18 June 2007 21:15 (BST)
Edit: Come to think of it - there are a couple of things that could make the lists better. The first is the set logo on the cards, I'm having difficulty finding high resolution images of the ones that we don't have yet. The second would be booster designs, which could be displayed alongside the card lists (language specific) and take up some of that white space. Although more recent booster images are easy to find, older ones with a decent enough resolution are difficult to track.
So set symbols and set logos for as many sets as possible, plus as many booster pack designs as possible? Do you want any theme deck boxes if I can find those as well? Double Dash 20:50, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
That would be a bonus! nuva-kal, 18 June 2007 22:04 (BST)
Is there any way to send you what I have? Got plenty of stuff for you. Double Dash 15:04, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
My Hotmail account is acting up, so you can send the stuff to my alternate address - [email protected] nuva-kal, 26 June 2007 16:33 (BST)

Poké Ball is spelt as two words with both words capitalised. - 振霖T 01:44, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

You should not move content from a article to a category description. Instead, link to the category from the article. - 振霖T 15:03, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

I only moved the Nintendo Promo cards to separarte articles in their own category because one single article is too large. Upon editing the single article, there was a notice saying it may be too large for other users to view. Besides, there are more miscellaneous promos coming out later this year, and there is a new promo set (DP##), so I thought separating them would give less hassle in the long term. That's what I did with the Japanese Promo cards too. nuva-kal, 1 July 2007 21:02 (BST)
Not view, edit. The point is, with categories you don't have to maintain the list in the article, just link to the category. - 振霖T 07:00, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Shining Darkness

There was no reason to blank that page. Yes, it's considered a Japan-only expansion, but so is VS, Web, Moon Hunting, Night Dashing, and several Japan-only promo card categories. It would be inappropriate to blank any of those, why would it be appropriate to blank Shining Darkness?

Don't pull a stunt like that again, or there will be consequences. Bulbapedia does not take kindly to people who blank notable pages for no reason. ****, Bulbapedia frowns on blanking pages period! --Shiningpikablu252 18:06, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Shining Darkness is not Japanese-exclusive, I don't know why people can't get their heads round this - Secret Wonders is the English version of it, simply with Dialga, Palkia and Darkrai omitted and with a few cards from MH/ND added. Can the removal of six cards and an addition of 10 really class Shining Darkness a stand-alone set?
Were the Japanese and English versions of Team Rocket classed as two sets because the English version had Dark Raichu - no; were Japanese and English versions of EX Sandstorm considered separate because the English version had (at the time) exclusive cards in it - no.
I have not completely omitted the content of Shining Darkness, if you will take note, I have simply moved its content to Secret Wonders, as 95% of the card list is exactly the same as its Japanese counterpart. With all of the relevant information included in Secret Wonders, I saw no need to keep the Shining Darkness article, and therefore removed the information - not being a moderator, I can't actually delete the page.
I have done this in the past with the e-card sets, and more recently EX Power Keepers, so why I have attracted such a negative response for a perfectly reasonable action is beyond me. If you would prefer me to alert you or a moderator when I am about to do something of this nature, I will do so. I do not go and delete pages off the lam - I take my position as a member of the Pokémon and Bulbapedia community seriously and whenever I do edit material, it is done with consideration for others and always with a just explanation. nuva-kal 09:11, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, uh, I'd actually back that up. (Sorry for butting in, but I agree here.) Bar, what, ten cards, Shining Darkness is Secret Wonders. Similarly, DP4 in America will be Moon Hunting/Night Dashing. There's going to be very little point in having four pages for two sets, surely. Now, I could understand if both DP3 and DP4 in America were 50/50 of Shining Darkness and MH/ND, but they're not. You can't use VS and Web to back up your argument, either, because their cards have never been released in English-language sets. Double Dash 15:07, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Re: Shining Darkness

No probs, happy to be able to help out. I'm gonna redirect the Shining Darkness page to Secret Wonders, so there are no more arguments. Double Dash 21:01, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Card Article Image Field

"image= |" displays the image "Please upload an image of this card" when the field in question is blank. There is no need to replace the field with the text when it's easier to have the blank field. --Shiningpikablu252 16:36, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

TCG ID

PLEASE USE THE {{TCG ID|SET NAME|CARD NAME|CARD NUMBER}} ON ANY CARD LISTS. Jason ::

I know, I'm just not that familiar with using these new templates. I'll learn(!) BTW, you say you have stuff for the GB cards? If you could add images and Japanese characters/translations to complete them that would be great. nuva-kal 13:21, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

yes i do. it is on my pc... along with alot of stuff....however, would it be possible to manage gb1 and gb2 card images near their card number ? :) Jason ::

I don't know what you mean, which number are you talking about - the ones in the checklist? nuva-kal 13:34, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Double Redirects

When moving a page, make sure you fix any double redirects you create. When you moved Moon Hunting/Night Dashing (TCG) to Great Encounters (TCG), you left behind two double redirects in Moon Hunting (TCG) and Night Dashing (TCG) and did not bother to fix them. I've gone ahead and fixed them for you, but make sure you fix any double redirects you create when moving pages in the future. You can check for double redirects by looking under "What Links Here" on a page. --Shiningpikablu252 22:19, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Flaaffy

You sure? The Secret Wonders Blister Pack with the Flaaffy doesn't get released till December...Arri 17:56, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

You're right, its just that my local Forbidden Planet has the Secret Wonders blister pack with the alt. holos, and when I saw the bit about the Flaaffy, I automatically assumed that was the one you were on about - I completely forgot about the Japanese promo! nuva-kal 18:14, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

Suicune

For the record, this Wizards promo Suicune and its Nintendo promo reprint are itself reprints of an Aquapolis card, Suicune H25. You might want to create the article at the Aquapolis location and create the necessary redirects. --Shiningpikablu252 17:37, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Bionicle

Bionicle RULZ!!!!!!!!! Have you ever been to the BSO1 Wiki?Ace 19:25, 2 February 2008 (UTC) P.S. My username there is the same as it is here.

Yes, I've been to the Wiki, although I never really edit there, since a lot more members are actively updating minor things that they've got from Greg or adding things from the books, which I don't get until at least 2-3 months after the Americans do. I never really get the chance to add anything new to the BS01 Wiki, unlike here where there is still a lot to do, especially regarding the TCG, which is what I'm primarily involved in.
The Wiki may prove useful for minor titbits when I get around starting my flash Bionicle website for my final university project. Nice to hear from a fellow Bionicle fan! nuva-kal 13:59, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
Hey, don't you think it's messed up how Mata Nui's alive, but with Makuta's spirit? Ugh...really disturbing.... ht14 02:52, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
Just goes to show you how much of a badass villain Teridax is! It certainly puts a new twist on the story, and it will be interesting to see how the story plays out if Mata Nui finds his way back to wherever his body ends up... ~~nuva-kal 09:22, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
True, true. When were you a Bionicle fan? Do you have a Bulbagarden forum? ht14 22:02, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
I don't have a forum, no. I've been with Bionicle since the beginning. I got into it because at first the models were similar to the Slizers in 1999, which I liked, but then Bionicle had this whole mythos and great story behind it, so I was hooked. At the time, I didn't have the internet, so I was pretty much in the dark about all the contests and games until mid-2002. From then on, the whole experience just got better and I am looking forward to next year. ~~nuva-kal 13:04, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Re: DP4

Hit the nail on the head. :-) I've almost finished the Moonlit Pursuit/Dawn Dash page, then I'll take all necessary information outta the Great Encounters page. After than, the next three pages can just be created as per. Double Dash 21:22, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Ralts Half Deck

You will find nothing while searching for Japanese Nintendo websites, due this seems to be an exclusive Spanish release. I can't assure whatever it is a promotional release or a Spanish exclusive. You can find more about it on the Oficial Ex Ruby and Sapphire Spanish distributor website.

Hmmm. Do you know if the other Spanish Half Decks have the same content as the Japanese ones? If so, then its just a case of indicating that the Ralts one is Spanish exclusive, if the others are different, it might be better to make a separate article, or put another list on the same page. All English content is derived from stuff from Japan, with slight modifications (or major with the new sets). Then other European countries usually uniformally just get the English content and translate it without changes (albeit it takes a long time and several sets don't get released - French and German for example). This is the first time I've seen this done, which is why I was sceptical about it. You might want to talk to some other TCG project members to see what they think. nuva-kal 22:46, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
On the Treecko, Mudkip and Torchic half decks you will find the Spanish content of them.
I really do have some time ago a long discussion with some members of the TCG project, because they were as sceptic as you, but what they did was to undo my contributions just because they don't belive it wasn't a fake. Until I contact a TCG project administrador. --Profesor Bain 21:24, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Well, I'm always willing to give people benefit of the doubt. I wish I looked at those articles earlier, then we probably wouldn't be having this discussion! I've just added a little notification on the Template:Japanese Half Decks template for the Ralts one just to ease up confusion with those who are not familiar with it (like me) and saving people from contacting you about it (again, like me!). nuva-kal 11:20, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
Don't worry. That's what makes Bulbapedia a great encyclopedia. I will continue investigating about this Ralts Half Deck in order to clarify all this topic.--Profesor Bain 12:35, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Template:TCG Expansions

Hi there, would you happen to know who I need to talk to about changing this template to include Moonlit Pursuit/Dawn Dash, and also other changes? Double Dash 15:31, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

TTE maybe, or Zhen Lin. Is this just for running the idea past them, or how to actually do it? nuva-kal 19:28, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
Well, I wanna discuss the issues caused by both Japanese and English DP4, how to rectify them, and also submit changes for them to check and either accept or deny. Double Dash 21:49, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
OK. Other members involved with the TCG might want their input too, but TTE and Zhen are probably the ones to run it by first. nuva-kal 22:06, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

TCG Promo

hello there. i am Magnedeth. after reading your userpage, it seems we have a bit in common (like Bionicle), but i digress to the real reason of this post. you seem to be engrossed in the TCG. now, i was a huge collector back in the day, but less so these days. however, through it all, i have always been collecting one thing. Magnemite. yes, im on a mission to collect every single Magnemite card in exsistence, both reg and reverse holo. that being said, i didnt come here to ask if you have a card or anything, but i would like to know if you know if/when the Magnezone promo will make it stateside? the obvious thing would be the american release of the movie, but, the american release will almost cirtainly not be in theatres. i have the D/P Magnezone card (still looking for reverse holo, but ill find it) and im itching for another one. MAGNEDETH 00:27, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

This is the problem with Japanese promo cards - there are so many of them and Nintendo do not have the resources to translate every single card (there are some they don't translate for obvious reasons, like the Imakuni? cards, etc.). Considering the cards that Nintendo put into POP sets and the rate at which they release new promo cards (how long its taken to get certain Lv. X Pokémon is a good example), it looks unlikely that we will see an English version any time soon. There are a few Battle Road promos that have made their way into the Western market, but they only tend to be decent cards playwise. Looking at Magnezone, it does look good, so there may be a chance that it may work its way into a POP set, or part of a value pack - but not for a while. Never say never! Nuva-kal 12:28, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
arg! ill find a way, i always find a way...i have the vending Magnemite and Magneton which were not released stateside, and i also have an Imakuni? pass card and trainer card, and i used to have Imakuni?'s Doduo, but somone stole it. (can you beleive that?!?) oh well. it looks like a Magnezone Lv. X is comming down the pipeline soon, guess ill have to wait untill it's released in america. thats rather expected though, its just another set. you dont happen to know when its getting released, do you? MAGNEDETH 19:07, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Well, Magnezone Lv. X is in Temple of Anger/Cry from the Mysterious, the majority of which will likely be pushed back to our DP6 set, released around August (the third set of the year normally clashes with Worlds). Majestic Dawn has Garchomp Lv. X and Porygon-Z Lv. X confirmed, but will have to include Leafeon Lv. X and Glaceon Lv. X too, so I don't think Nintnedo will push the boat out to put another Lv. X in there, meaning its unfortunately another long wait. Good luck with your collection! Nuva-kal 19:18, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
NOOOOOO!!!!! my deck needs another Magnezone!!! damn......well, thanks for all the info anyway.. MAGNEDETH 19:21, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

did you do all (most) of the vending machine cards? i have more than just the Mags. im still not sure how i got them...must have gotten a couple of packs from somone/somwhere...in anycase, thanks to you, i know what they say now! -- MAGNEDETH 00:03, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Yes, I've got an old UK edition of Pojo's Pokémon from August 2000 that's got scans and translations of most of the cards (though some are a little off). I'll try and get Series 3 done sometime soon. Nuva-kal 08:55, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
awesome. ill have to go and find out which ones i got so i can translate them. i have a Pass Card too, though, thats completely obsolete, isnt it.. -- MAGNEDETH 23:16, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
The Pass Card was one of the "bonus" cards with Series 3. In Japan when Series 3 was released, there was a campaign where you sent in either Haunter, Kadabra, Omanyte, Graveler or Machoke with the Pass Card to the card company and they would send you the evolved version back. A nice little thing, a shame it didn't make it across the pond.
A lot of the bonus cards tend to be spoof ones or ones that allow you to bend the rules of the game. Because of this, I don't think that people took them seriously at first and they were ignored, but there is a growing collectors market for them - especially now since Wizards didn't translate the majority of them, so it is a card worth holding onto. Nuva-kal 17:42, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
absolutly. i take pride in my rare useless cards. i also have the Imakuni "trainer card". is there a translation for that somwhere? (and while were at it, Imakuni's Doduo too. i will get it back someday...) -- MAGNEDETH 00:55, 10 April 2008
I've gone ahead and done some of the bonus cards from vending (some of them are really wierd and difficult to read) and Imakuni?'s Doduo. Enjoy! Nuva-kal 11:00, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
hell yes. thank you. now, to begin the tedious and expensive task of collecting them all! ok, maybe not. but, i still like them. do you have any Imakuni? or vending cards? -- MAGNEDETH 23:26, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
I don't have any Imakuni? cards, no. I did have a Vending Ponyta waaaay back, but I must have traded it for something. This was back when everyone in school had Pokémon cards, and this girl had a Ponyta who didn't know what set it was from. Nobody knew, so she just gave it to me because I was the only one who recognised it was in Japanese. Then, I must have traded it for something soon after 'cause I don't have it anymore. I didn't have as much respect for the Japanese cards as I do now, so in hindsight I should have held onto it, but it doesn't really bother me that much. Technically with the Wizards promos, I do have some Vending cards, so I guess that will do for now! Nuva-kal 09:22, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
on a Ponyta related note, i had 26 Ponyta's. about 21 or so from the base set. once i realised this, i started giving them away! im just wondering though, why do you have so much repect for the Jap cards? back when the cards were big, i didnt care if they were english of jap, i wanted them, but then i stopped collecting. only very recently did i actually go out and get a pack (for old time sake) and now i really dont care for the Jap cards. -- MAGNEDETH 23:05, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
I guess I've come to respect them because of the sheer volume of them. Because I've done the promo lists and started the translations for some the early ones, you realise how much Wizards missed out to begin with. It's happening all over again with the new promos, and there are some fantastic cards out there that we will never see the light of day of in the West. Plus, these guys make the game, so without them we wouldn't even have the TCG. Without the collaboration of PCL, PUSA and other gaming bodies, the TCG would never have stayed as popular as it has been over recent years. Sure, it doesn't enjoy the dizzying heights it had back in the late 90's, but there is still a strong fan base behind all aspects of Pokémon, and Bulbapedia is proof of that. Nuva-kal 14:30, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
well, i respect that. that makes a lot of sence. -- MAGNEDETH 19:37, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Speaking of some of the Vending cards, what of the checklists from series 3? Due to the number sign, it's impossible to have the article exactly named "Checklist #1 (Vending S3)" and the like. Personally, I'd take the same approach used for the Blaine's Quizzes. --Shiningpikablu252 23:51, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

The checklist names are placeholders for now, because the title of the card is the name of the deck those cards in the checklist are for. As soon as I dig up the names of the decks, I'll change the links. Nuva-kal 09:22, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Do you know the last 6 illustrators for the "P" Promotional cards? That's the only thing holding back those cards' creations. MoldyOrange 14:58, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure it's Midori Harada - I don't have a crystal clear image of the cards, but the illustrations (particularly the Mewtwo) are similar to her art style. The illus. for each of the cards are taken from one large piece that features the six Pokémon, so she is credited for all six. Nuva-kal 15:35, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Some card name translations

Hiya, I'm about to make a page for the 11th movie commemoration set from Japan, but there are two cards whose names I'm unsure of. This one, "氷空のシェイミ", I think is Icy Sky Shaymin, and this one, "反転世界のギラティナ", I think is Reverse World Giratina, but I'm not sure. If you could help, I'd much appreciate it. If you want the pages there are on, I'll link. Cipher 11:04, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

It is Reverse World Giratina, but only the one that is the Origin Forme. I am unsure what the Shaymin is. The information I got for it is here: [1] so if you would like to check that out... MoldyOrange 12:53, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
I think Icy Sky is pretty accurate, though the last two characters before Shaymin literally translate as 'air travel' in some things I put it through! Your assumptions are better English name-wise than some of the translations I have seen for them, so I would go with those.Nuva-kal 13:13, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Sadly, I cannot translate Kanji. I always just compare the attack with the same attack on other cards. Most of the time, they are the same. But sadly, Heart Swap has not appeared on an English card yet, but I will still try to find what it says. MoldyOrange 16:29, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
And actually, If you can give me me the indecent English, I can probably convert it into TCG Language. MoldyOrange 16:31, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
I may be wrong, but it should be something to the effect of switching abilities and damage counters with another Pokémon. MoldyOrange 17:23, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
I think it is something along the lines of that, yes. I've got the template for the card all done but it's on another computer, so I the earliest I can upload it is tomorrow. I am planning to tackle the PLAY promos next. Some I know are already in English, but it's the "owners" ones I want to try and do, as I expect a few people might want to know what they do. Thanks for taking a look at it. ~~nuva-kal 16:50, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Skarmory card

The second attack on the Skarmory card, (メタルスラッシュ) translates as "Metal Slash". ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 23:22, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

And the text should say: Skarmory can't attack during your opponent's next turn. MoldyOrange 01:39, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Thanks guys! ~~nuva-kal 10:47, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Alto Mare's Latias and Alto Mare's Latios

I found these two pages created by an amateur created rather messily and had hotlinked images inserted. I've done some cleanup on them, but I'm going to need someone who can decipher the images for full cleanup. Can you help me on this? Thanks.

For the record, the hotlinked images can still be found within the edit histories, so you don't have to go searching around on outside sites for them. Not that the images would have been that hard to find anyway...--Shiningpikablu252 19:46, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

I've gone over them the best I can - there wasn't that much more to do with them, you did a fine job yourself! ~~nuva-kal 10:52, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Hey, Nuva-kal... Your username interests me, as it is reminiscent of LEGO's BIONICLE series (mainly I'm talking about the Toa Nuva and Bohrok Kal). Are (or were) you into it? Card translation

Hi there, I'm having a little trouble translating something...my Japanese is pretty poor in the first place, but I'm not sure what the attack names on this card are. As far as the first attack goes, I think the text is "Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Paralyzed." I think, but I'm uncertain, the second attack is "Discard 2 basic Energy cards from Heatran. (If you can't discard 2 basic Energy cards from Heatran, this attack does nothing.)"

Please can you help clear this up for me? Thanks, Double Dash 10:19, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Ahhh, its sooo much easier to put it through translation sites when you have the japanese text! The first attack is Body Slam and reads "Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Paralyzed". The second is Fire Spin and reads "Discard 2 Energy cards attached to Heatran in order to use this attack." Since these attacks already exist in English, its easy to make correlations and translate them to how they would actually appear on an English TCG card an use English TCG terminology. Its older cards that are a pain because I have to hunt down the kanji I need (my computer can't read Japanese and no matter how many times I try, won't install the East Asia language pack), then translate them. ~~nuva-kal 10:52, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks very much! I've been able to make the article now, so thanks again. =) Double Dash 11:15, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
No problem. As long as there is a full spoiler version of the card on the website, just run the URL through Google and hit the "translate" link to the right of the page link. From the (sometimes very rough) translations, it should be relatively easy to make a gist of what the attack is. I would hold off doing the more recent promos, just incase PUSA decide to do POP 8 with a few of these (fingers crossed) instead of purely artwork variations. ~~nuva-kal 11:40, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
That's the hope, there are becoming too many random promos to fit into sets. I actually hope we don't get any Pokémon LV.X in POP Series sets - a non-holo LV.X wouldn't be pretty. But yeah, I'm gonna hold off the rest of the DP-P cards until we hear about POP8. Double Dash 11:52, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
We do have the ability to move pages, I'd rather have the page and then move it instead of waiting for the card to maybe be released... MoldyOrange 01:40, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Can you link the page you found that Mew information on? I have a hunch on what it says, but I need to be sure. MoldyOrange 22:19, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Its the from the official card site, I just ran it through Google translator. The original page is here: -[2]. ~~nuva-kal 08:16, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

I think that the card attacks say:

  • If the Defending Pokémon is a Basic Pokémon, your opponent can't evolve that Pokémon during his or her next turn. If the Defending Pokémon is an Evolved Pokémon, discard 1 card attached to that Pokémon and return it to your opponent's hand.
  • Each player may choose 1 Pokemon card in his or her discard pile, show it to his or her opponent, then shuffle it into his or her deck.

And, I would like to thank you for doing the Promotional cards with me, I was stuck on what to do with the rest of the cards and I am glad that you are doing them as well. Thanks! Also, do you know what attack this is: あくむのまい? MoldyOrange 18:10, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the attacks. It's great doing these cards with another person who knows what they're doing - it was such a daunting task when I began doing them earlier in the year, so a huge thanks to you for doing so many of them recently. The last two characters are throwing up a lot of options for the attack name, but the most plausible name for the attack is "Nightmare Dance". ~~nuva-kal 18:28, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
Well, that makes sense because it is for Butler's Kirlia. MoldyOrange 18:31, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
That wasn't bad for a guess! ~~nuva-kal 18:34, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Could you tell me what the first attack on this card is [3]? MoldyOrange 03:25, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Literal translation is "Psycho Boom", but most cards in English that have a Japanese translation of Psycho tendo to change it to Psy, so English equivalent would be "Psy-Boom". ~~nuva-kal 12:38, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Trainer cards

Trainer cards are tough, so these mght not be exact, I only have two as of right now. If these are incorrect, I am sorry, but this is the best I can do for now.

  • Mysterious Pearl: Search your discard pile for a Pokémon card, show it to your opponent, and put it in your hand.
  • Miracle Diamond: Search your discard pile for a Trainer card, show it to your opponent, and put it in your hand.

I also have translations fot the Lucky Stadium cards, Pichu and Pikachu, and the Hoppip card from Unnumbered Promotional cards. I will try to work on those later...And I say you do this earlier: link templates won't work by themselves when creating Redirects, you either have to link the exact title of the page or substitute the link template you need. I will try to get the other two translations later. MoldyOrange 01:43, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. With that redirect, I accidentally pressed save instead of preview, then before I could alter it, the bot jumped in. Then while doing it again, you must have. My computer was acting slowly then, or maybe it was the fact that there were four or five edits in the same timespace! ~~nuva-kal 11:08, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Pokémon Pal City: Reveal the top 7 cards of your deck. Choose as many Basic Pokémon cards as you like and put those cards onto your Bench. Place the other cards on top of your deck. Shuffle your deck afterward. (Ignore this effect if your Bench is full.) MoldyOrange 04:04, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
For being the shortest, one may think it was the easiest...but no!
  • Championship League: Championship League is the only Trainer card you can play. Your opponent shows his or her hand.
Now, because it is so short, there isn't much to go on, so I'm not too confident in this one. MoldyOrange 02:46, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Re: Golden Oldies

Titles and names I can do with limited problems. Unfortunately, the body text of the cards is just a little outside my realm of expertise. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 14:20, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

I'd appreciate anything you can get for me. ~~nuva-kal 17:49, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Would you mind

If the eleventh movie set pages were at (11th Movie Promo 1) etc for consistency with the 10th Movie Commemoration Set? MoldyOrange 21:27, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

I'm going to do it anyway, because things need to be consistant. MoldyOrange 21:28, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
OK. I'm in the middle of doing them now - I've got two more to do after I finish Dialga, then I'll upload them all. ~~nuva-kal 21:32, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Put them as (11th Movie Promo 1), without the 0's okay, I will fix everything that I kind of just messed up when I get back. MoldyOrange 21:34, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Do you have the information to finish Rota and Aura's Pokémon from the gift sets and PCG-P? Because you did sea and samiya and I have the Aura and Rota's images. MoldyOrange 23:10, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Cards are done. ~~nuva-kal 19:49, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
What about the two Aura's Lucario Ex cards? If you don't know what they are, check out the Lucario (TCG) page. MoldyOrange 20:00, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, I completely missed those - I was going off the PCG-P list. They are done, but christ they were tricky ones! ~~nuva-kal 21:09, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
Well, we are getting all the cards done really quickly, soon we will run out. Thanks for doing those, now the "PCG-P" Promotional cards are done! MoldyOrange 21:28, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
Also, the Mew gift set doesn't have all the cards listed, do you know which ones are missing? MoldyOrange 21:32, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
Fixed :) Just a miscount with the energy (I didn't know about the card database when I made those, so it obviously slipped my mind.) I'm encroaching on people's space (the computer is in my parent's room), so I'll have to call it a night... ~~nuva-kal 22:08, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

Didn't you say that you had the 11th Movie images? If so, can you put them up? MoldyOrange 19:50, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

I don't have images of these ones, I was going off their entries on the official Japanese database. At best, I could get the images from the site, but they're not all that big. ~~nuva-kal 20:01, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

EX Deoxys

You added that the Japanese set had the exclusive "Gentleman's Outing," but both the sets on the Japanese site have Lady' outing. (here and here) Where did you get the information on Gentleman's Outing? MoldyOrange 02:24, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Looking at the page history, it seems this piece of information was on before I started to edit here, and since I did not know about the Japanese database, I must have thought it was true, and have since forgotten about it. Looking at other sources, it seems that the user who made the claim may have gotten confused by an e-card called Gentleman Nils which may have been released around about the same time. Other than that, the claim seems to be untrue, in which case it would be better off omitting it. ~~nuva-kal 20:22, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
I am so sorry! I looked at the history and thought you did it. Sorry to bother you. MoldyOrange 20:49, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
That's fine. I wouldn't have realised it if you didn't say anything. ~~nuva-kal 23:10, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, I kind of forgot about the cards

  • Victory Orb (without Mew): Look at the top 7 cards of your deck, choose 1 of them, and put it into your hand. Put the 4 other cards back on top of your deck. Shuffle your deck afterward. MoldyOrange 02:22, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
  • Victory Ring: Flip a coin. If heads, discard as many cards from your hand as you like and shuffle them into your deck. Then draw that many cards from your deck and put them in your hand. MoldyOrange 03:03, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

No. 1 trainer, etc

I was looking around the Japanese Pokémon wiki and I think the the No. 1, 2, and 3 trainer cards will all say the same as the ones that are already made. For example, the three remaining no. 1's would say: "The Pokémon Card Game Official Tournament's champion is recognized here, and this honor is praised. By presenting this card, you may gain preferential entry into the _______." And the same sort of principle can be applied for the no 2 and 3. I just thought you might want to know this so that you can complete the remaining 9 cards (which means we will only have 3 unnumbered promotional cards left instead of twelve!) MoldyOrange 03:33, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

Not many images exist of these cards, they weren't as well publisized as the other ones. From what I can tell, the text is the same in all 3 yearly prints, apart from the competition name. The 2000 print says "★Neo Spring Road", the 2002 print says "Battle Road 2002", and I can't tell what the 2001 print says, but it is longer than the other two. So, do you think it would be best just to do one article for each and mention the text alterations? I was thinking about the English versions from Worlds too, as these are all the same apart from the Worlds stamp and the year in the text - I don't know whether to do individual ones for each year or just do one.
The other problem with both Japanese and English cards, as I mentioned before is images. I have images for the Japanese 2000 ones, but no clear ones for 2001 and 2002. These are also problematic as these trophy cards had the name of the winner on them, and the 2002 ones also had a boy variant and a girl variant. As for the English ones, I only have a good image of the No. 3 Trainer from 2005 when it was on eBay. ~~nuva-kal 13:50, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
I think that they should be on one article, just because they mostly all say the same things, that way, we wouldn't be repeating ourselves in the same sort of articles and we could also take nine cards off of the Unnumbered Promotional cards. (on a side note, you wouldn't happen to have the info on grand party, Celebi, and Top 4 trainers, would you?) MoldyOrange 19:20, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
The Japanese wiki can sure be useful - I found the entry for Grand Party (it's actual name is Trainer Certification Card). The Celebi card is actually 001/J, which you spent a while to translate. The image is the first time I've seen it almost crystal clear, and it has the CoroCoro logo in the left corner. Since there are no other references, it has to be that card. As for the top 4 trainers, it's so rare the only decent image of it is on PokéGym and it is too small to read, so I'm not sure on that one. ~~nuva-kal 13:50, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

W Promotional cards

I found this link: [4], don't know how factual it is though. MoldyOrange 00:34, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

Apparently, there were only seven? MoldyOrange 00:34, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
I already have this page created, but it is on another computer, so I'll get around to update tonight. ~~nuva-kal 09:40, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

Preparation for tomorrow

Since POP Series 8 is coming out tomorrow, there will be a couple of things we need to do. First off, it is highly likely that these cards will be coming from the "DP-P" Promotional cards. I am sending this message to anyone who would probably be the ones making the cards. Make sure that the articles aren't already made under the DP-P promo name, we can just move these and revise and it will be a lot less work. Also, the disambig's. will need to be changed, and redirects will need to be created. Just saying this so that everyone knows what is going on and that the couple of pages might already be named under something else.

Also, this is wht I have been able to find out what Top 4 Trainers says. If it helps you with anything.

The Pokémon Card Game Official Tournament's "Spring Battle Road 2002" Top Four Trainers are recognized here, and this honor is praised.

Translation issue

Hiya, I'm a little concerned about something on a new page - info is on its Talk:Carnivine G (DPt-P Promo 1), but basically, I'm unsure if this card's second attack is actually called Grass Knot due to one of the characters ever-so-slightly differing to the corresponding character in an attack which has been translated to Grass Knot (Tangela from Great Encounters). If you could help me out here, I'd appreciate it. Cheers, Cipher 14:11, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

There's also this I'm having trouble translating, I can't make it out in the slightest - すごいはないき. Any idea what it might be? It's Probopass G's second attack name, I've not a clue what it is. (Edit: And the attack description...sorry, but again I can't figure out what it says. Something about your opponent discarding to retreat, I think?) Cipher 15:17, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

It would make sense if the attack is Grass Knot, even the translation is roughly the same. When translating cards, I have found that some attacks have slightly different characters to make the same words ("wave" is a good example), or they just structure the attack name differently, but still produces the same result when translated. It is something I have become used to seeing, so it seems fine.
The literal translation for すごいはないき is Great Person's Pleasure - I have no idea what that may be. The attack effect is I think: "If your opponent tries to retreat next turn, discard an Energy card attached to the Defending Pokémon." Hope that helps. ~~nuva-kal 11:18, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
Thanks very much, that helps a lot. =) Cipher 11:22, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

attack names and translations

I'm trying to make sure every card has the same translations everytime. I would appreciate it if you put the same translations as the other cards have into the pages. This can be done by searching for the text, and every time the attack was every used will appear up, can you just make sure they are the same? MaverickNate 19:58, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

I've been doing that as I go along with the cards in the Gym series. If I see any more while I do the translations, I'll make sure they all match. ~~nuva-kal 20:01, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

I've got one thing to say

Bravo! You did a fantastic job with all of POP Series 9. It's spectacular. MaverickNate 16:45, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Thank you! ~~nuva-kal 16:47, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Pssst

Don't forget to update all the links. MaverickNate 17:12, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Done, but I can't do anything about the one on Pikablu's talk page. Also, I've noticed that there are separate articles for the half decks found in the Trainer Kits. Since no other deck kit half deck contents have been separated, do you think it is really worth keeping those around? ~~nuva-kal 17:48, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Hmm, they don't seem like they need to, so I'll take them out. MaverickNate 20:36, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Actually, they look like one is a deck, and the other is a "set" of some sorts. The page with them together has them with the card numbers, and the others have them with the amount of each card in the deck. If you'd like to merge the articles together, feel free. MaverickNate 20:39, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
I wish you would have asked first, I already had some of those cards made in my userspace. MaverickNate 12:50, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
Okay, I'm done. You can go ahead again. MaverickNate 13:02, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, couldn't help myself. Just wanted a crack at doing some new cards! ~~nuva-kal 14:59, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
If you could finish the deckkit, It would be appreciated. Just, try to base your articles off of mine, because Cipher organized his a different way, and I'm trying to get them all consistant again since he's not here. :) MaverickNate 15:02, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
No prob. ~~nuva-kal 15:03, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Tins and things

I've always completely trusted you with anything you want to do. You are excellent at improving those pages, and I don't mind if you want to do something different if you want to clean them up. ;) MaverickNate 22:27, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Thanks

I was meaning to ask you about those two promos, so, thanks for taking care of them! MaverickNate 16:34, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

Not a problem. I was half expecting a Platinum-based prize card at some point, and figured the effect would involve searching for Energy, based on the effect of the Diamond and Pearl ones. Wonder if they'll do Gold and Silver themed ones in the future, since it's kinda confirmed they're going to be announced next week... ~~nuva-kal 16:50, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
That's what I was thinking, maybe to be released around the time of the set after Advent of Arceus. That set seems to be around the time that the games from the announcement next week would be released. I'm expecting a GS based set for that one. ;D MaverickNate 16:56, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
Looks that way, considering there has been a lack of Gen II Pokémon in the TCG recently. ~~nuva-kal 17:02, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

Interesting

Those snap images look really cool. Did you get them all? If not, which ones are missing? MaverickNate 18:26, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

These were sent to me by the ebay seller The Card Collector after I saw some very small images of them. Out of the 10 that exist, they only have 4, which they gave me permission to use. These cards are incredibly rare, so chances of finding HQ images of the rest seem slim, unless the seller can get a hold of them. Still need images for Magikarp, Poliwag, Pikachu, Squirtle, Charmander and Articuno, but otherwise great additions to the Wiki, as I suspect very few know of them. ~~nuva-kal 18:37, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
That sounds like those will be hard to find, just as the remaining T and P promos are, but a whole lot harder. Have you checked if the Card Collector has those images as well? Didn't they have a scan of the newest ___'s Pikachu? If my memory serves me well, we need that one too... Would you be able to do that? MaverickNate 18:50, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
I could ask them for that, and the Captain Pikachu too. I asked them about the 2001 Battle Road promos (with the winners photos on them, like the top 4 trainers), but they didn't mention it in the reply, so I'll ask again. ~~nuva-kal 19:05, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
We recently got a scan of the Captain Pikachu, if you would wish to take a look. MaverickNate 19:13, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

Can I get a link to your forums account if you have one?

Because what I'm going to tell you is talk abuse. --AT 18:39, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

Nope, don't have a forum account. Though if you are suggesting that a legitimate question on some rather unknown Pokémon cards is a waste, far be it from me to instigate some sort of punishment. Nate is the authority here on the TCG, so if he wants to know something TCG-related I'm contributing to on the mainspace (i.e. totally to do with furthering the wiki), he does it here. ~~nuva-kal 19:05, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
Nothing TCG related. What I'm telling you is rather minor, if telling you that you deserve to be an admin is minor. --AT 19:09, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the vote of confidence, though I doubt I could spare enough time to do admin duties. ~~nuva-kal 19:18, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
See this page for why I think you'd be a good admin. Now I better stop it before Trom or RexRacer gets on to me. --AT 19:22, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

Your expansion page idea

I love it. Feel free to implement it anytime. MaverickNate 13:49, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Is that the coloured checklists from a while back? If so, do you think they would be better centred or put to the left? ~~nuva-kal 13:55, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
It is, if this is what we are talking about. I like it better centered. MaverickNate 14:10, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
While looking through your userspace, you still have this. Would you still like to keep it? MaverickNate 14:13, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
No, you can go ahead and delete it. I'll have a tinker with some more colours tonight and might upload some tomorrow. ~~nuva-kal 14:25, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Pokémon Trading Card Found

Hey, I saw that Maverick Nate is on Hiatus and it said to redirect stuff to you. I found some Trading Cards on the official Japanese Pokémon Website, and I couldn't find a couple on here. The ones I found were Anime Characters Pokémon. There are two pages for that one, just scroll down and click 2. Also, for the Anime Characters Pokémon the Pichu cards are animated. Second, I found the Movie 12 Pokémon Cards. I hope those are of some use. -MasterKenobi 15:39, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, I've already started to make headway on these. ~~nuva-kal 17:48, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Mothim

How'd you figure out it was number 10? MaverickNate 23:39, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

I've seen very small images of the whole set. The artwok matches with (or very closely matches) the 10th image. Feel free to point the finger if I am wrong! Typical though isn't it - as soon as you leave, a crapload of new cards are revealed! ~~nuva-kal 08:01, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
Edit Now I come to look at at again, the images are from Beat of the Frontier, so I am probably completely wrong. Time will tell... ~~nuva-kal 08:55, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

See here. Looks like Serebii received a mass upgrade. Check it out. New cards are out, including Ash's Pikachu. ht14 16:23, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, but these have all been added to the wiki. ~~nuva-kal 21:02, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Seems fine to me. MaverickNate 18:44, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
Unless it's something to do with Internet Explorer, which I am reduced to using at the moment, the Infobox orders things according to Pokédex number, regardless of where you put the entries. Since the info is there, just in a slightly different order, I wouldn't worry about it. ~~nuva-kal 08:20, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Category:Pokémon cards

Could you possibly leave this category on pages? It's my personal check to make sure that each card page was updated correctly. MaverickNate 19:28, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Not a problem. To be honest, I'm still getting used to the fact that most of the categories don't need to be put at the bottom of the page. I hope you didn't mind me jumping in to do the retro cards for Supreme Victors, as they needed some clarificaion. By the way, where did you find those Snap promo images? Brilliant find! ~~nuva-kal 21:04, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
Photobucket...Someone on Pokegym linked them and I took advantage of the opportunity. I'm trying to pry the photographers from them too. ;) MaverickNate 21:10, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

I always wanted to know

How you get so many cards done so quickly? MaverickNate 21:02, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

I get everything ready in Word/Textpad beforehand and upload a block of them at once. I find it easier, as I can copy repeat data such as the set names, illustrators and templates to them simultaneously. ~~nuva-kal 21:11, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
Umeko translated the dex entries already, and put them on the species pages if you would like to add those on the gen 3 and 4 Pokémon. They match the ones on the cards. MaverickNate 23:20, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

I want to know

You seem to be the one who added "Pokémon he is known to have designed include Wobbuffet, Dunsparce, Celebi, Deoxys and Magmortar." I'm trying to create a complete list of the Pokémon's Designers, and I was wondering where your source is for these. I know it was over a year ago, I just hope you'd still know. MaverickNate 16:50, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

Quite a decent interview, I wish more of the illustrators did more of this sort of thing. [5] ~~nuva-kal 09:40, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

Cards by Pokémon

I would really prefer doing these myself, if you don't mind. MaverickNate 22:28, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Are you sure you don't want some help? There are a lot to do. ~~nuva-kal 21:42, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
No, I'm fine. Also, Leave Category:Pokémon cards on the pages. That's my final check for the cards, and I don't want to miss any at all, especially when all the images also have to be moved for standard. MaverickNate 22:24, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
I'll fix those when I get there. I'd rather be able to fix everything in one edit, then have tons of history for every card page. MaverickNate 19:49, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
Yeah. Just had a moment of clarity and thought I'd been wasting my time until I read the carddex template discussion (the whole length/height issue), and thought I'd standardize the ones I've kinda made a mess of! ~~nuva-kal 19:54, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
These get separated. They are two separate releases. MaverickNate 18:06, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

I've also been wondering about the Carddex template for Dark/Light Pokémon. Do you think it would look better if these were to have the "class" field added to include the colour changes for these cards, or just stick witht the usual template? There are also some other cards which don't have Pokédex entries per se, but were classed as "additional text" in the old table - namely Ooyama's Pikachu (which also uses the "doodle" field) and the _____'s Pokémon. Not sure what to do about these either. ~~nuva-kal 20:38, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

TTE added the doodle and additional, but didn't do the dark/light class change. I can add that in eventually myself, so wherever you need to, put in a class=Light or class=Dark whenever appropriate. Is that all the changes we need? MaverickNate 14:28, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
Offhand, yes. I don't think the Shining Pokémon need doing, as there is no actual graphical change to the cards until Gen. III, which don't have Pokédex entries anyway. Thanks. ~~nuva-kal 14:36, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

A couple of things

Hey, I was always hoping you would realize this, but I guess it's time to tell you. The Manual of Style says that all instances of all caps get lowercased. This is for quotes from Generation 1, and more recently, all dex entries in every instance. In addition, if you are going to move any more pages, I'd appreciate it if you replace the expansion and number in any of the image names that are already "file:NameExpansion#.jpg" to what they would be now. (But not for any of the images that are from the Japanese database.) Don't worry if they don't exist: I'll get them moved. These are just some style things I'd like it if everyone knew. Thanks! =] MaverickNate 19:04, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

None of the entries are reworded. They are actually incorrect on the Species pages. You see, when HGSS was released, someone thought it was a good idea to just copy GS dex entries, without paying attention to the fact that some of them were changed and worded differently. If you catch anymore, the problem is the species page, not the card entry. MaverickNate 12:32, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
Do you want me to update the entries on species pages if I come across anymore? ~~nuva-kal 12:38, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
If you could, yes. I've been trying to. MaverickNate 13:52, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
This. They are two separate releases. Just because one piece of info matches doesn't mean shove them together. Rarities and numbers are different. We wouldn't do it if the rarities matched, now would we? MaverickNate 22:35, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
So, do you want each of these separated in all cases of holo and non-holo versions of the same card? ~~nuva-kal 22:41, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
Absolutely. I just haven't entered that territory of the trading card game to fix it yet. I did get to it for the holos of the e-Card era though. I've been working my way back by era, I just tend to do a variety of wiki tasks at once...so nothing ever really gets done. It's a slow process. MaverickNate 22:44, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
Tell me about it... I'll go back and do the Jungle ones I've already done if you like, and keep an eye out for Fossil, Team Rocket, Neo Discovery, etc. when I get up to them. ~~nuva-kal 22:49, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

New Pokemon Legendary Dog Tins

Hello! Are you in charge of the TCG now here? I just picked up the new Suicune Tin (the one with the shiny Suicune) and was wondering if you need any scans. I may have a few other cards as well that we may not have translations of.

Thanks! –MasterKenobi 15:44, 30 October 2010 (UTC)

Nate is still the authority, but any queries you have I'll be happy to help with. Any scans that would be an improvement over what is already there, and in this case, an English scan over a Japanese scan (where possible) is always welcome. Feel free to add translations. Also ensure that if you change a Japanese attack name for what you feel is a more accurate translation, that you change all other instances of that attack name too in other articles. Thanks. ~~nuva-kal 16:02, 30 October 2010 (UTC)

help...

HELP!!!! I used an AR code to walk OUT of Amity Square WITH a pokemon (shroomish) traveling with me in Diamond. I accidentally saved. Does ANYONE have an AR code to remove a partner walking with you?!?! I cant fly or surf! And I have a hard time catching anything! I cant use my fishin rod either! And Dont go on about how cheating is wrong. I was trying to research DPBox and Invisible Shiny Bulbasaur. I did, however, come to one conclusion: Its the SAME POKEMON. When it faints, the entire thing is seen. So... can you help?????

TFG templates

Are you finished with them yet? I would love to see them mainspaced soon. I haven't seen any tests however, so I don't know how they look overall. Thanks. Jellotalk 05:04, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, yeah. Been very busy recently. As far as I am aware, everything is good to go. I'll do some second-checks before they are mainspaced and have a go at uploading some today. ~~nuva-kal 12:37, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

I hope it isn't just me

but I think the TFG prev next should match the infobox color, no? MaverickNate 20:58, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

I was going to change it to a colour scheme that matched the TFG logo (orange/blue), but if it is more of a standard to make it uniform with the infobox colour, I'll change it.
While we're on the subject of the TFG, you don't happen to know anyone that might have knowledge of the figures from the other sets do you? I know the figures are out there - to my knowledge all of Groundbreakers and the majority of the third set had 'official' bases to accompany the figures. I've seen a few on pkmncollectors, but the images are too small or not enough of one figure is exposed to glean the attacks from. ~~nuva-kal 21:22, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
I know that the French wiki has a lot of information about those figures. MaverickNate 21:28, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
Not much more that is on here unfortunately, though thanks for pointing it out. What colour scheme to go with then, and is there a need for one at the top and bottom, considering the article length? ~~nuva-kal 21:35, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
I still say infobox color. As for the top and bottom, I personally don't think they are necessary. I would remove the bottom. MaverickNate 05:43, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
Hmmm. Just tried to change the prevnext box there, and I don't seem to have my admin rights anymore. Was it just for a temporary period of time? ~~nuva-kal 13:57, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, after looking at the logs, it seems so. Sorry about that. I unprotected the prevnext template for you thoug. MaverickNate 17:40, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
What would be the best way to do the Trainers for the TFG? Just asking because the Trainer TCG colour is yellow, and I was going to do a similar colour scheme to the Trainer cards from the TCG for the figures, though I'm not sure whether to actually put the box displaying 'Trainer' in the top right. This primary concern is over the prevnext, as I may need to add new colour templates for the grey of the Trainer infobox if I follow the TCG trend for these. ~~nuva-kal 14:08, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
Edit: I've also begun to replace the images with the official images from the TFG site before it was taken down (found them on an old hard drive believe it or not!), and getting them to conform to a standard naming convention. I can't rename ones I've replaced, and I can't replace current gifs or pngs, so I've uploaded new jpgs in their place - would you mind clearing them up as I go along? I've also added another bit to the infobox (sort of like reprints for the TCG) for the 360° views, 'cos I like them and didn't want to let them go to waste. Thanks. ~~nuva-kal 16:08, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
Feel free to create anything that you need to, such as color templates and things. And, I'll take care of the TFG images. Don't worry. MaverickNate 05:50, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Guess what?

You run the project now. Good luck. I know you'll do fine. Just remember all the templates that need updated. Cardpower, cardattack, as well as the dex entry, and the Category:Cards by Pokémon pages. Remember to put them in chronological order dominate on English side. If you find any cards that are stubs on the japanese side, yet still need their dex entries, go to alamedyang's page to find most japanese card images, and you can send them to umeko. She's always been helpful for me, so I don't see why she wouldn't mind helping you (especially with you battrio run currently). You're a fantastic editor, and I wouldn't leave the TCG empire in any other hands: you're the only one I trust not to let it crumble and fall apart. You have my e-mail address, I won't be coming back here MaverickNate 06:23, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

Congratulations, Nuva! --P o L i 03:46, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

Supporters

Hello. Maverick Nate informed me that you are now in charge of the TCG project, so I want to update you on the work I've been doing with him for the past couple months. I completed a new list he started of all the Stadium cards, which is currently still on his userspace; I don't know if it's up to me, you, or him to move it onto the mainspace, but it is complete. I'm currently working on a similar list for supporter cards; though I have been a bit slow on this, once my normal schedule starts back up, I should get moving faster. You can find the current list here: User:Unknownwarrior33/Supporters Thanks! —Unknownwarrior33 06:55, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

I should also note that I'm doing it from a copy of the Stadium list, which is why there are still many stadium cards listed. —Unknownwarrior33 06:57, 1 January 2011 (UTC)
Sorry for taking a while to respond - suffering from a mjor headache, coupled with the shock that Nate is gone and that I'm up to my eyeballs in Battrio stuff! Anyway, feel free to mainspace it once you are ready, you're doing a solid job. If you do it in the same manner as the Goods card article, it will eliminate the need for a separate 'list of' article for each of the trainer classes. ~~nuva-kal 17:34, 1 January 2011 (UTC)
Sounds good, thanks. I should be able to continue work on the Supporters this evening. —Unknownwarrior33 23:45, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
Hey, by the way, any thoughts on how to avoid that big open space on the Stadium card page? --Unknownwarrior33 02:37, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
Clearly I dropped the ball; I thought school would help me organize my time, but I'm a lot busier than I thought I would be. I still hope to get to the Supporters eventually. Unknownwarrior33 00:37, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Project Battrio

Hey there, I'm finally responding to your message that you left on my talkpage about... two weeks ago. XD;; (Sorry about the wait. Between some IRL stuff and computer problems, it's been hard to get back into the swing of things here.)

It would be a huge help if you wanted to get started on the pucks from the second expansion onward (if you haven't already!). As for the information from the perfect guides, I actually started organizing all the puck information needed into a Google Docs spreadsheet a looong time ago for others to reference... but I kind of abandoned it because at the time, I was the only one working on Battrio stuff in the first place, so I was only making more work for myself. XDD But now I think I'll take the time to complete that in the coming days.

And then the latest expansion... yeah, you don't know how much I raged when the double-types thing was announced. The problem with what you suggested is that some of the pucks DO have dual defense types (the Pokemon that are already dual-typed in the main games... like Celebi, Bronzor, whatever the others were...). I will have to add extra parameters to the infobox, and I'm not totally sure how I'm going to do that yet. Sighhh.

So yeah, if you have any other questions, or want to update me on what you've been doing (if you have been doing anything on Battrio while I was being unprofessionally silent :V), please feel free! 梅子 02:09, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

I've just been uploading images recently, and I'd rather do a complete puck article than just leave it half done with the infobox. Trouble is now though I have a bit of an obligation to more TCG stuff since I'm now project leader - although Nate is back again, which helps a lot. As for the latest expansion, maybe a switch that changes daily between the two defence types on the infobox and puckdata templates or something along those lines? I don't think having a two sets of infoboxes for each option (apart from the attack, which is kind of necessary) would look that good on a page. ~~nuva-kal 14:20, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

To the looks of it

The Kyogre and Grouden half decks actually have names, not just the "constructed starter deck", much like how they are Bastiodon the Defender and Rampardos the Attacker. MaverickNate 20:14, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

I was in two minds as to whether to name them like the others or not. I'll move them to Ocean's Kyogre ex and Earth's Groudon ex respectively if preferable. There are a whole slew of redirects to be made around the half decks anyway... ~~nuva-kal 20:30, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

Categories for Japanese releases

Something I want to do. I might move onto this, but I'm still in Neo Genesis replacing images and adding Template:Carddex. I need to finish some things before moving onto something new MaverickNate 23:03, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

You mean adding categories for the Japanese set names, like we already have for promos? ~~nuva-kal 18:19, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Yeah: Promos, and more current releases. I personally cannot see any reason why it shouldn't be done for all the previous releases. I'm thinking about what would have been done if we knew what we were doing since the beginning. MaverickNate 20:33, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
So for example on the promos I'm working on at the minute - because it appears in Diamond & Pearl means it should also have a category for its Japanese counterpart Space-Time Creation, correct? ~~nuva-kal 20:42, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Yes, but I still wanted to get consistent translations for ALL the Japanese releases. MaverickNate 01:58, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

Space Fissure's Deoxys (7th Movie Half Deck 0)

I'm questioning this page's notability. It is essentially a reprint of the other three, and we NEVER have multiple pages for the same card. I'm thinking this page should be consolidated in the release information sections for this, this, and this, as well as a note on the 7th movie half deck page saying how a lenticular card was included in the half deck. Do you agree? MaverickNate 19:56, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Yeah - I was thinking about it when doing the TCG Page for Deoxys anyway, and kind of got sidetracked. Go for it. ~~nuva-kal 20:37, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
This last edit was to delink. MaverickNate 21:44, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

Template:TCGGallery

Just wanted to make sure you didn't miss its creation. Werdnae (talk) 07:59, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Very nice! I'll have a go at implementing these when I get home. ~~nuva-kal 12:42, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
This is somewhat related. You keep linking to the redirect DP Black Star Promo. I kind of want to know your reasoning behind doing so. MaverickNate 20:29, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
Also, there's an option in the gallery to have "caption#= |" and put in a custom caption in order to relieve confusion in case more than one print appeared in the same set of cards, such as the Dialga LV.X or Pikachu. MaverickNate 20:31, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
I prefer the wording "Black Star Promo print" rather than "Black Star Promos print". I kind of forgot to alter the link on the Dialga LV.X article. I'll be fixing the others as I put in the new gallery template anyway. ~~nuva-kal 20:36, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
I also like it better, I'm just concerned about the people who freak out when we use redirects. MaverickNate 20:38, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
One more question before I save Brock's Rhydon. I've been debating this for a while. The way the style is now, is that when the expansion and the rarities are the same, we don't list the Japanese set information. However, I'm beginning to see how this is misleading. It isn't clear when something like rarities don't exist, or if they are just the same. Same goes for sets. My remedy and my question: should we just start listing everything? MaverickNate 20:48, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
I was considering this last week, but didn't bother bringing it up considering what a huge task it will be. I agree that having the inforamtion for both languages in every instance is useful, but for cards that have an extensive release history - particularly Trainer cards, it can seem equally as confusing. This also raises the question, is there a better way to present the information? ~~nuva-kal 21:22, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
We've done huge tasks before. It brings up one that I'm still trying to recover from it. I'm not seeing how the extensive release history would be confusing though. The infobox is designed to have every release group (I can't think of a better way of saying this) separated by a thicker color bar. And we also have the show hide avaliable if it gets too long. Can you explain how you think it is confusing? MaverickNate 21:42, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
Perhaps overwhelmed is a more suitable word than confusing in this case. I'm just trying to think in broader terms of people who are not used to seeing or are as familiar with the infobox as we are. ~~nuva-kal 22:06, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
I think the release information section covers (or at least will once we get to them) the more practical pertinent information for the releases, and the infobox is mostly just a list of everything. I do agree that when lists are long enough, they become pretty daunting, though I don't really see any way of making them less overwhelming. That's their nature. That's what I think: we could list everything in the infobox, and have a more practical explanation for the expansion information in the release information when it is needed. Can I get the ok from you to start doing it? MaverickNate 23:01, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
Of course. That is exactly what I have been doing with the Japanese promo cards. I've fixed the Dialga LV.X article, and have added all outstanding Japanese info, including categories. Just need to make sure all translations (especially half decks) are consistent before creating them for other pages - which you have already mentioned. Excellent. ~~nuva-kal 23:09, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
I'll make a list of everything I've already checked translation wise. We can then start from there. Hopefully after this last influx of card improvement, we never have to touch the cards again! (or, at least the Pokémon cards: Energies are pretty bad--but that's another story for another time) MaverickNate 23:12, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Movie Half Decks

Their translated official titles are like, Pokémon Card Game e Limited Movie Pack, Pokémon Card Game ADV Movie Commemoration VS Pack, Movie Commemoration VS Pack: Space Fissure's Deoxys, Movie Commemoration VS Pack: Aura's Lucario, Movie Commemoration VS Pack: Sea's Manaphy. How should we handle this? we have Movie Commemoration Random Pack, and the 10th and 11th movie commemoration sets. I was just wanting to get your ideas MaverickNate 17:50, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

Since they all have different titles, I don't see why we shouldn't have their actual titles. We are trying to get everything as accurate and concise as possible with this slew of updates afterall, so I'm quite happy for them to be moved. All stuff around the early eras before we were on top of the latest Japanese stuff kind of needs this scrutinization to ensure everything is consistent. ~~nuva-kal 23:18, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
So, with the recent moves, all the cards pages will also need moved--I can do that. Do you think we could just move the titles to, for fifth "Name (Theater VS Pack)" and for 6th through 9th "(Movie VS Pack)", or do you think the words Limited and Commemoration are necessary? MaverickNate 20:01, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
(Theater VS Pack) and (Movie VS Pack) are fine for the Pokémon, but what about trainer cards that have the same numbers in each of the decks? ~~nuva-kal 20:08, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
They'd all be going to the same place, right? Oh! I forget to add the numbers too. (Theater VS Pack #) and (Movie VS Pack #). I don't think any conflict. But, if they did, they would be redirects going to the same place. MaverickNate 20:12, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Fake Moves in TCG

Should I make an article about fake moves that appeared in TCG? Pokedex493 06:00, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Fake moves? ~~nuva-kal 13:49, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
You know. Like Flames of Rage and Gnaw. Pokedex493 16:44, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
Those aren't fake. They're just moves that don't appear in the games....Ataro 16:47, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
They are TCG moves, not "fake", and they are already featured on the Moves not in the Pokémon games. You could probably update that list if you want something to do MaverickNate 16:50, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
Ok. Thanks for giving me something to do. I've been having a hard time trying to find something to edit. Pokedex493 18:41, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

Since you have the power to move protected pages...

...may I direct you here, please? Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 14:24, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

I don't have admin privileges here, just on the archives. Sorry I can't be of any help. ~~nuva-kal 14:35, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

Some things about BW

I was thinking that we should get images for the new rarities on the Japanese cards. You know, the C, U, R, (we could probably make and RH), SR and UR. We could probably then just do {{rar|C}} and so on. Also, could you write the information section for Black & White? I was putting it off for when cards were finished and we moved onto other things, like expansions, but cards have been taking longer than expected. MaverickNate 21:10, 6 March 2011 (UTC)

All part of my to-do list. Still working on updating Japanese half decks and stuff - slow work, and the server stress doesn't help. All this and I still don't have my copy of White >_<! ~~nuva-kal 21:20, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
April 26? Sell sheet says 25.... MaverickNate 00:03, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
Ah. I was going off the release date on the official Pokémon site, and have just realised it's the UK release date. Changed. ~~nuva-kal 00:39, 12 March 2011 (UTC)

Japanese decks and releases

This is mostly just about what was decided on, but not yet implemented, before I passed the torch onto you. Having a complete section for a date was thought to be ridiculous, as it could easily fit into the infobox and be written more fluidly into the body text of the articles. Also, level was no longer going to be included in any lists at all, due to its 1) inconsistent presence on cards throughout the history of the TCG, and 2) complete insignificance to and independence from the card. These are just some things that came to mind while looking at your new decklist templates, which are awesome by the way. As you are the current leader, you can take this with a grain of salt: they are just what we had intended to do, but never got around to doing. MaverickNate 21:42, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

Well, level is an optional inclusion on the templates, plus it took friggin' ages for me to get it working. But if it's going to be a standard with all lists, I suppose I could omit them. Dates aren't a problem, king of humming and harring over it anyway. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. ~~nuva-kal 22:12, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
If you want it there, than it can stay there, =P. You can change whatever you want. It was just something that was style vs tradition. It was always a tradition that levels were listed, so it never left... MaverickNate 22:28, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
Make sure not to link to images before they exist. Sometimes, they won't work even after they are uploaded, due to existing as a redlink . Keep this in mind, because if we don't have an image of a certain deck yet, it's better not to link it, than to have the redlink. MaverickNate 22:38, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

Category:Pokémon cards 2

I'm still checking images and such, and would prefer if you still weren't removing this. MaverickNate 01:48, 10 May 2011 (UTC)

Well, at least I am doing the images this time. The ones I have done already should be up to scratch, but I'll leave the rest with them in for your checks. ~~nuva-kal 12:59, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
It was mostly to replace images as well, not just move them. Thanks for understanding. MaverickNate 20:23, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
I also plan to remove any speculated origin section points. It's more encyclopedic to only keep exact names, variations (such as super Confusion, and Double Razor Leaf) and some spelling similarities. I'd just like to also check them too. MaverickNate 21:41, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
Please do not move images for the rest of Neo. I'd rather delete the copyright violations while at the same time, uploading a better image at the correct name, instead of having to revision delete multiple revisions of each and every image when a new one is uploaded. (I wanted to do this for Team Rocket also, but oh well). MaverickNate 13:38, 15 May 2011 (UTC)

Battrio

Just curious, since you seem to know more about Battrio then CoolPikachu! or myself, do you have AIM or some easier way to contact you? Cause we're kind of stumped on a few things on the V set. D: --P S Yライダー 18:19, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

Just hotmail at the moment. My address is [email protected] ~~nuva-kal 18:22, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for replying :D. Can you check out User talk:Werdnae/Sandbox/Battrio and see if it's correct and then look at User:PsychicRider/Sandbox to see if it's supposed to be like that or if we're missing something? Thanks so much for your help. --P S Yライダー 18:26, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
It's looking awesome. Just a couple of things to add:
  • I think 'Speed' should do instead of 'Attack speed' in the infobox - I don't think it has been referenced like that for a while and has been something I meant to change.
  • Something missing is an additional section for pucks from Great Gathering of Legendary & Mirage Pokémon! Explosive Double Moves and Great Gathering of Legendary & Mirage Pokémon! Transforming Forme Change, some of which have two sets of stats. The only potentially tricky thing is to change the colour of the defense type in the infobox for the second option when a puck has two different defense types for its two options.
  • The extra ability (which I believe is called 'Feature') on the bottom of V pucks reverse needs adding to the BattrioPuckData template. ~~nuva-kal 18:52, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
The template has been updated to v01, and we're waiting for the attack template and puck data template to be updated as well, just so you know. :D --P S Yライダー 02:18, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
And then one more thing, regarding the Double Moves/Forme Changes sets, the template has been updated, but I think it's not perfect, so here's an example, and then the v01 set has already been started. Thanks if you can give input/advice on the double moves/forme changes issue that I think is there. Cheers~ --P S Yライダー 18:53, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
I've tweaked it a bit more to what I had in mind. I can't really think of a better way of displaying all of the relevant information other than splitting it by 'option', as these pucks are essentially two in one. The only thing I'm having trouble adding is a switch that switches the infobox border colour when the 'altdef' parameter is populated - I can't seem to find the right place to put the statement. I also need to add something similar to the back view of pucks from v01 for those with two formes (they have two different images). Was it also the original intention to keep the stat graphics for pre-V pucks, then the circles for ones after? I couldn't quite tell with the code. ~~nuva-kal 20:54, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
It looks good as it is, since it kind of explains it more with options. As for the border switch, Werdnae says it should be in the header of the table. My original intention was for the pucks to use that, but Werd changed it for all of them to use the newer icons, but I asked him to make a switch for them based on the set, and he hadn't had the time to change it, but you changed it instead, so yay. :D --P S Yライダー 21:03, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
For the 18th set, Giratina, Shaymin and Deoxys have two formes with a different move for each of them. What's the mechanic behind this? Does each forme use their respective move or can either forme use both moves? Or is just like the other pucks with one Pokémon and two available moves? Should we make two infoboxes and split them up into two pages, or put the pucks like the v01 set? Just curious so we can change the template accordingly, cause it's kind of confusing to me. D: --P S Yライダー 20:17, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
It's just like the other pucks from the set; one forme has one move, the other forme has another. Splitting the puck images like v01 set is exactly what I had in mind, so the work's kind of already done. I'm not exactly sure how the whole dual move thing works. I haven't seen it done in practice, though I think you choose which 'Option' you want to use when you scan it in. ~~nuva-kal 19:47, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
I think I might have developed a solution. Take a look :).--MisterE13 01:25, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Question

I just started on this wiki and i have a question. Why cant i edit my user page.--TheYanmegalord 21:56, 5 August 2011 (UTC)

Hi TheYanmegalord. Here on Bulbapedia, to emphasise that we're an encyclopedia and not a Facebook/Google+ userspace editing requires you to have been a member for a short time and have made a few edits to the actual articles first. More information can be found here and in the Userspace policy. Werdnae (talk) 04:52, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

Those jumbos

Thank you for taking care of those jumbos. I have been procrastinating them for a while, and I am just grateful that you are doing them. MaverickNate 22:56, 10 August 2011 (UTC)

Need larger images for the other ones though, I can't make out the text with the ones I have. ~~nuva-kal 21:58, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
here? MaverickNate 22:28, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Awww

I see we won't be putting them all on one page. Oh well MaverickNate 17:21, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

I just personally see not doing it as misleading. I will list my reasoning out below.
  • Search engines like google will send them to the wrong one (I just searched for the 2011 worlds promo, and it sent me here).
  • I think our arbitrary splits between the pages don't really make sense, and the way things would work make the pages contain incorrect information. The "TCG Unreleased" template on the top of the page of the first four make it seem like the last 1 doesn't exist.
  • Since they are the same card, it messes with category numbers, which affect the numbers displayed on some pages that have the "PAGES IN CATEGORY" feature.
  • Wouldn't the length of the expansion info counteract the length of the card text section?
  • And lastly, I personally believe a detailed release information section with all the cards described, and then an image gallery below it would be much more beneficial to the reader, than to have to go around to multiple pages looking for info on the same card. We don't split Victory Medal by release, so why should we do it with this?
Sorry that I'm a bit winded in this explanation, I just really think having them all on one page would be much more beneficial than having them separated. MaverickNate 17:42, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
Take That! I told you it would be rather large, but I guess it does cover all bases. I wonder if it is necessary having the releases listed like that on the right - and is there much point in having the No.1 Trainer (TCG) navigation page? I'm off to bed now in any case - got a long drive in the morning. ~~nuva-kal 23:05, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
Amazing! I personally think it makes 1 fantastic article instead of 6 mediocre ones. As for the Expansion info, I'm not too sure. If you think it is redundant, then go ahead and remove them. But, yes, the navigation page is rather redundant. I will merge all six pages together.
On a separate note, I saw the link to "Elite Four Trainer (Battle Road Summer 2002 Best in Japan Deciding Match promo)"... Isn't that a bit long? I find it a bit too descriptive. Wouldn't "Elite Four Trainer (Battle Road Summer 2002 promo)" do? MaverickNate 02:56, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
Right, I've updated the No.2 and No.3 ones now. Everything is pretty much up to date. I do want to move the pages to '<name> (Pokémon Card Game Official Tournament promo)', as long as that isn't too descriptive. Since all of the trophy card links will need redirecting to here, could you sort out the redirects and delete the necessary pages. Thanks ~~nuva-kal 21:51, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
Sorry I didn't get to this yet, but all the pages that have actual content and reversion histories need to be moved on top of one another. If not, about 100 legitimate user contributions are lost in the redirects. MaverickNate 15:00, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
Well, maybe not 100, but a significant amount that can screw things like Top Contributors and such. MaverickNate 15:02, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
Can I let you take care of this in case I screw any more up? I'm in the process of updating the Unnumbered list with correct releases and their links. I'll redirect any new links I create, but I'll leave it at that. ~~nuva-kal 15:07, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
It's not a big deal. I actually already finished! And, personally, I think all the past redirects can stay. I don't see them causing any problems. After you get all the new redirects finished, I think the only thing left may be moving the images once the archives are unlocked, and possibly making a list somewhere of which prints we still need the images for. MaverickNate 15:14, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
Depends on what constitutes as necessary. For example, do you think having images of the first three Pikachu trophies is necessary, even though the only difference is text? Maybe since these are top cut cards we could make an exception. Unfortunatley, unless any of the owners of the Best in Japan finals are reading this, have a sudden burst of good will and decide to scan/photograph their cards for us all to see, we wil never have them all... ~~nuva-kal 15:22, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

Battrio BW Promotional set

So this new promotional set is out, and I tried to make it here, but I'm actually not sure what the name is, but I *think* it's Victini Spin Pucks. As for the pucks themselves, I made Oshawott, but I don't know if they should be P-0## or SVP-0##. D: If you can help, it'd be so much appreciated. ;A; --P S Yライダー 20:40, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

Some Battrio stuff

In order to better represent the different ways in which Battrio Pucks can possess different types, I created new versions of both the Puck Infobox and the Expansion list. However, I have recntly begun to think that the type of the puck's attack(s) are irrelevant to the information on the puck itself, as is the type of the puck to the attack information. For example, Latios, represents a Dragon-type Pokémon that uses a Psychic-type move. If you agree with this position, my template upgrades would therefore require some modification before they would be implemented.--MisterE13 16:26, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

Sorry, I've been meaning to get back to you about this - my head has been buried in the TCG for a bit. I don't think that the types are irrelevant, though it depends on which pucks you are scrutinzing. I may not be looking at the same way you are here, but the templates are our visual representation of the info on and about the puck itself. For early pucks the type label for attack and defense were not as important, as they were both the same, but later pucks often used attack types different to the defense type. People wanting to know how the pucks work during battles, defining what type the Pokémon is and the type of its attack may give them a better understanding. For the later 0 pucks, presenting this information in a more condensed way in your proposed template aids in comparison, so I think your templates require no modification. I know types don't play as big a role in V as they used to, but I would rather preserve the way we currently present type(s) for the older pucks and for any possible future changes. ~~nuva-kal 20:20, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
I can't quite tell if you're expressing approval for just one template or the both of them lol. Also, my logic behind it was that we don't attempt to classify the infoboxes of TCG cards or even Pokémon themselves based on the moves used by that Pokémon. Also, it becomes a moot point when one considers that early pucks had no clear seperation between Pokémon type and move type, while later pucks, seem to support my reasoning by clearly showing the attack type within a seperate "bubble" and colouring the background to match the Pokémon's type only. Obviously, "options" would still both be presented in the infobox as their attack and defense types both change depending on the option chosen. All that to say, your greater expertise on the matter does ultimately leave the final decision up to you :).--MisterE13 20:41, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
I'm quite happy for you to implement both. I can see your logic behind it, but due to the fact the pucks have predetermined attack(s) of a particular type, unlike Pokémon used in the core games where it is a matter of preference, we can classify them by type because that is what is on the puck. If Battrio ever implemented a mechanic where you add your own attack roster to a puck, this would be a different issue, not to mention an incredible ball-ache! ~~nuva-kal 20:52, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

Promos with merch articles.

Putting the italic marks into the Template:Merch makes the links not go where they need to go. I thought I would point that out. Also, Promos 29, 30, and 31 are the Victory Cup MaverickNate 17:10, 1 October 2011 (UTC)

New Shining card rarity

Snorlaxmonster told me to ask you about the new rarity symbol I made for the Neo Destiny Shining cards. Rarity Shining Holo.png Can you guide me how to put it into the {{rar}} format?

The rarity template is set up so that it places a png graphic that begins with "Rarity". As you have already named it "Rarity Shining Holo", you simply need to put the name of the rarity into the template. {{rar|Shining Holo}} will result in Shining Holo. Easy, no!?
Also, remember to sign your comments with the four tildes (~~~~) in your charcter palette. ~~nuva-kal 18:27, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
OK thanks!, sorry about the signing, ive been caught up in school work :p--×Rsrdaman× 02:19, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

Level ball and heavy ball

I thought those cards were numbered with the Darkness Sandile and Krokorok. MaverickNate 22:13, 18 October 2011 (UTC)

My mistake. Nevermind. MaverickNate 22:16, 18 October 2011 (UTC)

Elite Four Trainer

I edited it to switch the trainer card infobox and trainer text template, but I know it still needs a lot more done to it. Would you mind polishing the article up to high quality? I'm sure you know more about it than i do. MaverickNate 23:09, 27 November 2011 (UTC)

For your review

Here. I swear on my life there is an article detailing all of the gift sets, including this one, but I can't find it anywhere!! So since you are now the leader of project TCG, i'm letting you find it and decide what to do with this xD. --ZestyCactus 00:11, 10 January 2012 (UTC)

Notes

Now that you've gone and updated the page I was working on, I have some things that you should be aware of. "Series" is a proper noun. In "HeartGold & SoulSilver Series", it is always capitalized. Also, if you are to add more to that page, please make sure they are in chronological order. I was also trying to write all the sections differently, so that the page didn't start to become repetitive and boring. Your Mewtwo Collection and Prime Challenge Boxes were written quite similarly to the Zoroark-Illusions Collection, or, at least in the first sentence. The first sentence is where we have to vary the most. Even though the page was outdated, I was rather proud of the work I personally put into the page, and I just wanted you to be aware of what I had personally envisioned for it. (Ironically, I was going to finish the page today after researching a shatter foil Ninetales/Gliscor/Xatu pack released at Toys R Us a few months ago, but sadly, you had beat me to it. Oh well.) MaverickNate 20:35, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

Then by all means change it to how you want it, I just had the images of those products, so I thought I'd add them. Are you working on doing past releases, such as HGSS, PL, DP, etc. in the same format as the BW one? ~~nuva-kal 19:05, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
It is the plan to do past releases, but no, I haven't started working on them yet. I had made a list of all the products released during the HeartGold & SoulSilver Series, but I'm not too sure where that sheet went. I wanted to try to finish a few other things first. My idea was that if we separated them by Series, we wouldn't have an extremely overwhelmingly large page at the end. MaverickNate 19:43, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

TCG new articles question

Should this article - Cleffa_(HeartGold) match Latios (HGSS Promo 10) and Latias (HGSS Promo 11), or all three article names incorrect? G50 09:23, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

All of them are named incorrectly. The correct Cleffa article has been there for quite some time, no idea why this article was made so recently. The Latios and Latias articles have their numbers the wrong way round and the correct ones also exist. The article is flagged for deletion, so it will be taken care of eventually. ~~nuva-kal 09:40, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. G50 09:47, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

Nintendo Black Star Promos

I'm wondering why these were changed. That name was so integrated around the internet that I actually think changing them here causes a much bigger hindrance than any problem it may fix. It makes it much harder for people to actually make it to that page than it needs to be. I truly think all the pages should be changed back. MaverickNate 17:04, 4 September 2012 (UTC)

Additionally, it isn't all PUSA. Promos 5, 6, and 7 were handed out at European Tournaments, which is under Pokémon Europe's department. PUSA, PE, and TPCi are all divisions of nintendo, meaning nintendo isn't incorrect, while all three of the other titles would be misleading for various reasons. I'll be changing them back now. MaverickNate 17:24, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
I was just trying to make everything more accurate, as technically Nintendo themselves did not release these cards, Pokémon USA, Inc. were the actual company which produced and distributed them, which would include those awarded as prizes overseas. The problem is that "Nintendo Black Star Promotional cards" has been used as a colloquialism for such a long time, that it has been used across the web for just about everything. It's things like the misconceptions surrounding the early trophy promotional cards, which were considered fact to a degree until a bit of research proved otherwise. ~~nuva-kal 17:32, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
If you want to get technical, they are all simple "Black Star Promos", but for obvious reasons, we can't have 5 pages at that title. Nintendo is just to differentiate them between the other four. Pushing them to a much less familiar title to the community is not a good idea, especially one with the é, which the majority of fans do not ever use. However correct the newer title may be, it's simply not a good idea. It's the same reason why things aren't called "Pokémon TCG: Black & White: Dragons Exalted". MaverickNate 17:41, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
Fine, at least now the Gen III card articles are getting some TLC. While I've sort of got your attention, was it the intention of the Team Plasma update of the card infobox to appear like it does for other villainous teams? I see this has been applied to the Pokédex table, but not the main infobox or the attack box. ~~nuva-kal 17:54, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
It was, yes. If you wanted to take care of that, that would be fine. MaverickNate 18:04, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
Should the "Plasma" that appears next to the Pokémon name on such articles also appear next to it on Trainer cards and Energy cards - they also have the Team Plasma graphic in the illustration window? On the subject of Energy cards, have you been working on updating the Energy card templates like the Trainer cards? These have been on my radar for a while, so I'll upload a planned replacement once I've sorted a few things. ~~nuva-kal 19:21, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
Honestly, I'd like it if the Plasma that appears in the TCGnote template to be the one that is in the three infoboxes: Pokémon, Trainer, and Energy. I haven't been doing anything with the Energy, no...I've been avoiding that one due to how outdated they are. What I have thought about was moving them to a (Set ##) title instead of the (TCG) to match the trainer cards. MaverickNate 20:21, 4 September 2012 (UTC)

Holla

Hey man, I wasn't sure if I should ask you or Nate but I wondered what you thought about this. Thanks :) --ZestyCactus 19:29, 3 November 2012 (UTC)

So long as there is enough relevant material for two decent articles, I don't mind the split. ~~nuva-kal 21:53, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
I have made the split to Fan-made cards and Counterfeit cards. Let me know if you have any issues. --ZestyCactus 05:14, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
These look fine. The Counterfeit cards article could do with an image, just to match the Fan-made cards article. ~~nuva-kal 21:26, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
No problem. I have some silly-looking fakes I bought at a fair by mistake so I can scan one of those perhaps lol --ZestyCactus 00:24, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

Pokémon Reference?

I was watching the episode of an ABC show called Animal Practice, and in the episode, called Who's Afraid of Virginia Coleman?, one character mentions two Chihuahuas dressed as Pikachu. Is this notable enough to go on the references page? Pokedex493 (talk) 00:48, 10 November 2012 (UTC)

As I don't live in the US, I don't know how popular Animal Practice is; however, I very much doubt it. ~~nuva-kal 14:28, 10 November 2012 (UTC)
