When you put the Brazilian Portuguese names for [[PS496]] and [[PS497]] you put Tornadus's name as "Tornados". So is that an error in the manga or a typo? By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Using tt with links

Avoid using {{tt}} with links because it makes the hovertext hard to read. For example: Ash's Pikachu --Abcboy (talk) 16:34, 30 August 2015 (UTC)

Ok! But how should I handle the opening pages then? I'd like if they had both the translations and the links to their respective pages. Should I put it in an * or something? --Mine4017 (talk) 16:42, 30 August 2015 (UTC)
I would say your best shot is to do it by putting the translation in italics after the name in the original language, like we do with Japanese. --Abcboy (talk) 16:56, 30 August 2015 (UTC)

Dancie

Are you sure it's not a typo? We get the English games here so it's not like we use different names for the Pokémon. SatoMew2 (talk) 01:28, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

I saw it on the Biggs website (they have corrected it now) and on the promotional trailer on the Canal Biggs youtube channel. It was Dancie in the title of the video, the desciption and the video itself, and it was also pronounced Dancie by the narrator. However, it was correctly written Diancie (the Pokémon, not the name of the movie) on the blurb at Biggs website. It's most probably an error and, if they change it for the premiere, we could at least say that they used that in the trailers. --Mine4017 (talk) 17:33, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
I see, thanks for clarifying. They definitely missed this and I guess they still have time to correct the typo everywhere :) SatoMew2 (talk) 23:08, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

Episode and Movie titles

Just so you know, episode and movie titles must be italicized. Thank you.--ForceFire 03:22, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Sorry! I already knew that. I just forgot to add it.--Mine4017 (talk) 13:57, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Quotes headers

The character article layout is a bit outdated. Having headers for the locations under quotes needlessly lengthens the table of contents and when the character's from a side game that doesn't necessarily have locations, it becomes very cumbersome. glikglak 01:18, 15 December 2015 (UTC)

Right! It was added to the Project page in 2009. But this section of the Project was made to provide guidelines to people writing articles about the characters. And there has also been some inconsistency about the articles, for example:
Since I didn't know which way was right, I went to the Project:CharacterDex page to verify and found out it's the second case. If there has been a change in the structure, the Project layout structure needs to be updated, as well as all the outdated pages. I was just trying to keep them standard. Which way is right now? --Mine4017 (talk) 01:56, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
Put headers for games and no lower, unless there's a large chunk of quotes for a very specific thing, like a Professor's Pokédex evaluations or Steven's variable messages from the ORAS demo. There'll be quite a few pages that do different things; fixing all of the headers is a very time-consuming task for a very minor change, so there's usually something more important to be done. And you're the only person I know of who's actually looked at the CharacterDex page. glikglak 03:08, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
May I edit the second line of pages then to match the first line? --Mine4017 (talk) 12:30, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
Of course. glikglak 14:43, 15 December 2015 (UTC)

Pokémon TCGO

Hello I could not help but notice that you added Russian names on these artcles just now. So I was wondering if you know if the Russian version of the game contains Russian cards with Russian names before the XY era? If so could these names be found anywhere in say a list or anything? --Raltseye 02:06, 18 April 2016 (UTC)

Yes, a great majority of the cards are translated, from Black and White up to BREAKpoint. You can see them in a list that you can sort by alphabetical order, or filter by expansion, type, etc. For that, you need to play through the whole tutorial (or skip it), then go to the homepage, press the second button on the top bar, then the first button that appears to see your collection. There, you'll have a list with all the cards you have, but you can also click on the second button at the top to show cards that you don't have. You need to have an account on the Pokémon Trainer Club to be able to play it. Here's the download link if you want: [1].
You're doing that for your list of Russian names, aren't you? While doing that, why don't you grab the species/category name as well? And then you could add them to this list.
Oh, and sorry for the wrong Russian names or transcriptions. I actually used the Russian alphabet page on Wikipedia to copy and paste the letters I was seeing, so they may be wrong. And I used Google Translate for transcriptions. --Mine4017 (talk) 02:32, 18 April 2016 (UTC)
Okay good, thank you for that, that is very convinient. And yes I am doing it for my list of Russian Pokémon names by the way.
I had actually missed that we even had a list like that. I will create an account and add all of this, or at least start working on it, as soon as I wake up and get back from school. :P
I don't think you had any names wrong actually, maybe черное should have been written чёрное because that is how I have seen iy being spelled, but I don't know maybe that's what they wrote?
Oh and by the way when writing in cyrillic letters the best way to do that if you don't have a cyrillic keyboard or want want to change language on the keyboard one can go to google translate and press somewhere on the screen to can get a virtual keyboard, which uses the mouse, and use that to write, it is much smoother than to copy from wikipedia to google translate and you get transcription at once. :) Just a tip for next time. --Raltseye 04:19, 18 April 2016 (UTC)

XYZ titles

Just yesterday, you added the titles for the first two XYZ series episodes in various languages, including Finnish. Can you name your source? I haven't been able to find it so far. Thank you in advance. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 04:17, 13 May 2016 (UTC)

Never mind. I just got told where to find them. Sorry for bothering. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 04:38, 13 May 2016 (UTC)
No problem! --Mine4017 (talk) 23:14, 13 May 2016 (UTC)

Russian categories names

Hello, I want to thank you for adding the Brazilian categories names to my list, but I must ask, how did you add them? I'm wondering since I'm planning to add the Russian categories but doing it manually is a bit too much of a hassle to me. Short story: is there an easy way to copy them into the list? --Raltseye prata med mej 22:04, 21 September 2016 (UTC)

I don't know any easy or fast way to add them. I just saw the name in the card and wrote it down. One thing I did to make it easier was order the Pokémon in TCGO by alphabetical order, so that they're grouped together. --Mine4017 (talk) 22:09, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
