Okay, I thought this wasn't an issue, as users such as Umeko had apparently cryptic sigs and no one seemed to be bothered.

Well, I guessed so, but like most people here I can't read Japanese, and a lot of people could say they know me by "K)" and would instantly understand "Kirochi" by seeing that. Policy needs to be clearer.--KIROCHI) (talk) 11:00, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, I should have actually linked you to the policy which is here. It actually covers foreign languages too.
