Missing sprites

Why are some sprites missing yet their description page still exists?—★Pika3323 11:51, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

We're busy in a mass move of all the back sprites these days, so there might be some server syncing problems for few days. We are doing our best to wrap it up as soon as possible. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 15:30, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
Just thought I'd let you know of this database error, A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attempted database query was:

(SQL query hidden) from within function "Article::updateCategoryCounts". Database returned error "1213: Deadlock found when trying to get lock; try restarting transaction (174.37.30.34)".—★Pika3323 22:23, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Also

If you don't believe the information I post on discussion pages, that's fine. That doesn't give you a reason to erase what I posted. Once the information has been confirmed to your standards, you can actually use the information I put there. I plan on posting a lot of the English names. They're not widely advertised on the official site, so you don't have to move any pages, but leave my two cents on the name origins there, please. I'm saving people some work by trying to decipher some of these myself, and I'd appreciate if you left it there for other people to see. If any different name is confirmed (though I doubt this will happen), you can erase everything I wrote about the name. Thanks! --Kianglo 01:17, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

Can you hold off posting those until we actually get confirmation though, because as of right now you're posting origins for something that hasn't even been confirmed yet. Save it somewhere (perhaps in your userspace?) until the right time comes, please. Jellotalk 01:19, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
Couldn't I just post it with a note that it's not quite 100%? In case it's revealed and I'm not there to put it in the discussion page or anything. The lists that have been going around have been accurate thus far with the "officially" revealed names like Klink and Pansage, and I think it's better if other people can read it. If you have a serious problem with this let me know. --Kianglo 01:23, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
Still I would prefer you hold off on posting these for now. It does not matter if everything has been right so far, the fact is they have not officially been confirmed, and we cannot add those names until they are. Jellotalk 01:26, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
I didn't say you had to add them. But whatever. I don't see your point, but I'll just keep everything to myself. But if no one does the name origins when the pages are eventually moved to the English names, I will. --Kianglo 01:29, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

encounter rates

How do you get the Pokémon encounter rates? Pokabu82 01:58, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

Sorry, I'm not quite sure how it's done either. Jellotalk 17:03, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
Look at this page, from the formula if you want to work out a Pokémon's encounter rate, you would walk around until you've walked 150 steps, recording the number of each species you encounter, 1 would be very rare, 3 would be rare, 5 would be semi-rare, 7 would be common, and and 8 would be very common. If you want to get an accurate result you would have to do this more than once though. Pikiwyn talk 17:50, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

Bots? How!?

How have all the bots that have been getting blocked get through the captcha when being created? --Landfish7 21:35, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

I do not know the specifics, but whoever is controlling those bots seems to have broken through the captcha system. I don't know how either, but we can't really do anything about it right now except get rid of them as they come. Jellotalk 23:57, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
Are the bots coming from 1 specific IP, or does it change every time? Gliscorguy54 21:59, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
If it wasn't coming from one IP they wouldn't keep signing up now, would they? The only way I can figure it out is to do an email check, that usually gives it away. Jellotalk 22:07, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

So...

Do we start on Generation V? I've seen Adyniz already starting the mass move. Masatoshitalk 16:21, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

Jel, Psy or Ht, all of'em are not online at the moment so I think I'm gonna take this. I checked and there's nothing left from previous generations. So, we should really start moving Generation V stuff, btw I'm only free for today; have been a lot busy in uni stuff these days so I might not have much time to do it regularly. So, I'm trying to wrap it up as soon as possible :) ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 17:09, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
I asked Psy and he said we can start working on GV sprites from now. So, time to move some more stuff. Thank you ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 17:23, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
Alright, lemme help you out, then. /stops stalking Jello's user page Masatoshitalk 17:27, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
Here's some confirmation me as well. Feel free to start Gen V. I'll come help you guys out later, right now I'm in class. Jellotalk 17:48, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

Back sprite animation... again.

A while ago you told me that back sprites shouldn't be animated. Has that changed? I just found an animated backsprite.—★Pika3323 20:10, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

At the moment, they don't need to be animated. If it's animated though, I don't see any harm in letting it stay like that. Jellotalk 20:11, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
What's the idea behind shiny current game sprites? They don't appear anywhere in main space area!—★Pika3323 21:09, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
Consistency with the regular sprites :P You never know when they might come in handy. Jellotalk 21:15, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
The forums won't let send you a reply!—★Pika3323 21:20, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
Ah, I didn't think about that. Hold on a minute, you'll be hooked up on the Archives. Jellotalk 21:23, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
Do I start uploading crystal back sprites. The ones which are missing (like metapod)?—★Pika3323 14:09, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
For platinum and HGSS back sprites, if they're identical do you add the platinum tagging too?—★Pika3323 21:30, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
Yeah if they're exactly the same, then you can put multiple taggings on the first game the sprite appears in. Jellotalk 21:33, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
So platinum/HGSS sprites should be named what 4p or 4h?—★Pika3323 21:52, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
If the HGSS sprite is the same as Platinum, then it should be named 4p, the 4h would then get redirected to the 4p sprite. Jellotalk 21:57, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
The archives are really running glitchy right now.—★Pika3323 22:26, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
Therefore a diamond and pearl sprite identical to a platinum or HGSS sprite would also recieve the other tagging?—★Pika3323 22:29, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
Yeah. Jellotalk 22:45, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
I'm here now on 2 things, mostly different then the other questions, Why don't you add Uploading Crystal, FR LG, Platinum, and HGSS back sprites to the archives to-do list? Is this archives duplicate file checker thing still working? According to my superhuman powers (Crossing eys to match 2 sprites) some sprites are identical but the archives don't pick it up.—★Pika3323 20:39, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
Ah, sorry I've been a bit busy lately so I haven't had time to do that just yet. Jellotalk 22:26, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
Just pointing out, with the identical sprites, it'll only work if the two files are exactly identical. If one is a slightly different size, or the sprite is in a slightly different position in the frame (even one pixel out) then it'll see them as different. Werdnae (talk) 03:30, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
Jello, how do I create a page for a redirect for something like File:Spr_b_4h_003.png to File:Spr_b_4p_003.png (Like actually creating the page, I know how to redirect.) Or is that for admins.—★Pika3323 21:13, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Since Your On...

Can you please read my post here so we can start redirecting even more stuff :) --HoennMaster 06:39, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Can you provide a link to where the ad leads to or whatever ad/video has those names? I haven't seen anything yet on GameFAQs. Jellotalk 06:52, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
I know, not I can't find in anywhere. They all just lead back to Pokémon.com. --HoennMaster 06:53, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
It's okay, got a screenshot from someone. It looks legit to me, so we're probably going to be moving it. Jellotalk 07:00, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Sounds like a bunch of spectulation

How is the most populous cities a bunch of spectulation, you cannot make accusations in which you do not consider, as a real example both Nambasa and Castelia City from the Unova region share the largest city space, as a point of view you believe Nambasa as it's population of 150 (249 if considering battle arena) toppling Castelia City's population of 130 BUT what about it's regeneration of unlimited? Exactly, consider that other people many not share your point of view instead respect, please use better language rather that just SOUNDS, why not read ? --Italay90 23:42, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Don't accuse me of not reading something before I delete it. For your information, I did read it and I did not see any point in having an article that pretty much comes from the demographic section of each city/town. If you wanted, you could have expanded those sections instead of creating a short article that really serves no purpose that the demographic section could not cover. If you are not content with my decision you can approach another administrator about it if you wish, perhaps they'll have a different point of view. Jellotalk 23:50, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Yo! homie 8D

You might be busy in your class at the moment but whenever you're free, come at our secret basement. ♫♪エイディニズ♪♫ 17:07, 10 February 2011 (UTC)

=P

Is there a template for the time?—★Pika3323 11:47, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

Are you talking about this? ♫♪エイディニズ♪♫ 13:38, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
Actual digital tick tock kind.—★Pika3323 20:07, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
Like this?

2024, 04, April, Apr, 25, 25, 4, Thursday, 08:15, 08, 17, 20240425081550 2024

If so, the code is: {{CURRENTYEAR}}, {{CURRENTMONTH}}, {{CURRENTMONTHNAME}}, {{CURRENTMONTHABBREV}}, {{CURRENTDAY}}, {{CURRENTDAY2}}, {{CURRENTDOW}}, {{CURRENTDAYNAME}}, {{CURRENTTIME}}, {{CURRENTHOUR}}, {{CURRENTWEEK}}, {{CURRENTTIMESTAMP}},{{LOCALYEAR}}

Pick and choose the one you want :P Jellotalk 20:11, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

That will do. P.S. I found a poropse for the poketch pikachu sprite.—★Pika3323 20:23, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

Block question

Did you get my IM(s)?--immewnitythemew 01:41, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
