Welcome

Bulbapedia logo.png
Welcome to Bulbapedia, JasonL!

Here are a few links to help you get started:

The Manual of Style, or MoS, outlines the format of all pages on Bulbapedia.

All of our administrators are here to help! Talk to them if you have any questions or problems with Bulbapedia.

On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~), or by using the "Your signature with a timestamp" (button_sig.png) button at the top of the edit window.

The Userspace Policy says that you should keep userspace edits (edits to User:JasonL) to a minimum, and outlines a few other guidelines for your userspace.

For a complete list of policies and editing advice, please see the Welcome Portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Signature

Your signature is against the Signature policy, because it doesn't link to your user page. Linking to your user page is required according to that policy. Lady Ariel 01:13, 14 February 2013 (UTC)

Episodes

When an episode is airing, please wait until the episode concludes before editing the page. Thank you. G50 14:11, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

Squirtle's Bubble

Can you confirm that Squirtle's attack in EP112 was Bubble in the Japanese version? I'd check it myself, but I can't find the episode in Japanese.--Den Zen 12:51, 18 February 2013 (UTC)

Well I didnt know that was in japan I thought it was both English and Japan.--JasonL 13:12, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
Okay, I'll revert your edits then.--Den Zen 13:38, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
well I know Squirtle can use bubble and Bubblebeam but bubble was used in the english version in Ep112 didn't know that was dub edits.- unsigned comment from JasonL (talkcontribs)
Stop posting to my talk page (especially in the middle of it), it's against the talk page etiquette and it's written in my talk page rules. How come you didn't know it was a dub edit when you removed this? And it doesn't matter that it was Bubble in the English version, only the Japanese version is canon.--Den Zen 14:04, 18 February 2013 (UTC)

Userspace limits

Hi. I noticed you have been editing the User: namespace a lot recently. Please don't do it any more, though. Bulbapedia's Userspace policy restricts the amount you can edit your userpage: no more than three edits per day and make sure you contribute to our mainspace more than your userspace. This policy was instated to promote people helping out in the mainspace, and also to control strain on our server. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, after all, so help us out by contributing to some articles before coming back to your personal userpage. The more often you edit in the mainspace, the more you will be allowed to edit your userpage. Thanks! --Lady Ariel 23:14, 19 February 2013 (UTC)

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Changes button... Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Thanks! ----Pokemaster97 23:16, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

Ash's Pokémon

Stop changing the current location of Ash's Pokémon, he still rotates them. In BW116 he had Boldore, and he has Krookodile in the ending.--Den Zen 12:23, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

True he does rotates them but Pikachu is always with Ash and Pignite wasn't seen to be in Prof Juniper's Lab.--JasonL 12:36, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
1. Don't remove talk page comments. 2. Don't reply to my talk page; it is against the rules. 3. Change your signature so that it's not against the signature policy. 4. When Ash captured Sewaddle, we decided that all of Ash's Unova Pokémon have "in rotation" as their location, even if they have never been "Junipered".--Den Zen 12:48, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

Preview button

Please remember to use the preview button so you don't have to re-edit an article many times in a row like you did earlier today with BW123. Thanks! Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 17:49, 27 July 2013 (UTC)

BW139

Can you help me finish the plot for episode Team Rocket's Shocking Recruit!? Thank you. --Pikachu65 14:39, 17 November 2013 (UTC)

Jessie's Lickitung

Please stop adding "Princess vs Princess" as the first use of Lick. It was not stated to be lick. It just licked the opponent which does not mean it used the move lick. --ForceFire 13:30, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

If you continue to make reverts relating to the "Princess vs princess" or "lick" pages, you'll be blocked for edit warring. Please adhere to the message that Force Fire left you above. Thank you. --Pokemaster97 15:21, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
After watching the episode, the announcer did say "Lickitung's Lick attack isn't working against Psyduck". I guess I missed it because it was happening at the end (or the climax) of the episode, so all the viewer would be caring about is Psyduck being unaffected by Lickitung's licks not what the announcer is saying. All other mentions of licks weren't actually specified as the move.--ForceFire 05:11, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
No wait, scratch that. SnorlaxMonster has given the reason.--ForceFire 07:36, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

Image linking.

Please check on the Archives to see if an image was uploaded before just adding it to the article. You linked to an image of Korrina's Lucario using Metal Sound that wasn't added until six days after your edit. Ataro (talk) 09:02, 16 June 2014 (UTC)

Signature policy

I noticed you were told previously to change your signature. Because it's been a while, and your signature is still in violation of the signature policy, consider this as another reminder to change your signature so it at least links to your userpage, as required by the policy. Thank you. Berrenta (talk) 22:05, 16 June 2014 (UTC)

Final Warning

Please stop adding Lick to Jessie's Lickitung, SnorlaxMonster already gave a good reason why it did not use Lick.--ForceFire 02:55, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

*Ahem*

I'd like to inform you that under no circumstance are you to edit an episode article when the episode in question is airing. If you want to fix an error, that's fine, but do it once the episode has finished airing. Ataro (talk) 10:26, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

Link Templates

Hey, please use link templates instead of just the standard linking. For example, use Bulbasaur rather than typing Bulbasaur. Same with moves, type Cut rather than Cut. To find all the link templates we have, go here.--ForceFire 03:44, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

A side note, new comments go at the bottom of the talk page under a new section. You can create a new section by clicking the "+" tab in between the "Edit This Page" tab and "History" tab.--ForceFire 13:31, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

Pikachu Speak

Please stop changing "Matte" and "Sayōnara" to their English equivalent. The tv series is a Japanese show, so Pikachu's speech would match that of the Japanese language, not the English.--ForceFire 03:00, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

Mienfoo and Meowstic's Pokedex entries

http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Mienfoo_%28Pok%C3%A9mon%29 and http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Meowstic_%28Pok%C3%A9mon%29 Pokedex entries that I added are not completed. Can you add those entries if you would 'cause I don't know what kind of entries they are?

Clemont's Luxio

What source do you have for Sarah Natochenny being Luxio's VA? glikglak 18:09, 9 January 2015 (UTC)

Three things: First, keep discussions on one talk page to make it easy to follow; second, we can't guess voice actors by what they sound like; and third, your signature has to link to your talk page. glikglak 18:26, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
Again, your signature must link to your user page. Please change it to do so. And I have no idea what your last message means. glikglak 01:42, 11 January 2015 (UTC)

Signature, again

Your siganture is either still or once again not conforming to Bulbapedia signature policy. I'm really not sure which, because it seems you had it half right not long ago, but not any more; or perhaps something else is going on. In any case, it should link to your user or talk page. Please fix your signature or make sure you are using it correctly. Tiddlywinks (talk) 16:12, 28 February 2015 (UTC)

Luxio's VA

If you are unable to contact Wayland over twitter, then I am going to have to ask you to refrain from editing anything about Luxio's voice actor. If it bugs you that much, ask Wayland or just let it go.--ForceFire 04:35, 8 March 2015 (UTC)

Like I said, if you can't contact Wayland to ask if Sarah voiced Luxio then don't bother with this subject. Let it go. This is your final warning.--ForceFire 04:00, 10 March 2015 (UTC)

Final Warning

If you cannot or simply refuse to contact a voice actor over twitter, then you are just going to let it go. Let other users who CAN contact VAs do the finding. Failure to comply will lead to a block.--ForceFire 04:19, 6 April 2015 (UTC)

Fansubs

Fansubs are NOT official sources, they are fan made and can be riddled with several errors. Japanese titles are only to be handled by users who speaks or has knowledge on the Japanese language. Thank you.--ForceFire 04:56, 18 April 2015 (UTC)

Shadow Ball

Can you fix the Shadow Ball page? I don't think I did it right. Seabiscuit2020 talk 16:19, 18 April 2015 (UTC) I fixed it.--Jay-Man 15:41, 27 April 2015 (UTC)JasonL (Talk)

Just FYI

Per talk page policy, you're not supposed to correct another person's comments. That said, I'm one of those who doesn't mind where it's obviously wrong, and since Bonnie - well - doesn't own a Clemont, thanks for fixing that. Just letting you know because policy says don't do it. I think they want you to ask the user what they meant (perhaps on their own talk page) and then the user corrects it. =) CycloneGU (talk) 01:49, 27 April 2015 (UTC)

I didn't mean to copyright I was trying to help fix what was misspelled.--Jay-Man 02:10, 27 April 2015 (UTC) JasonL (Talk)
Read that more carefully. I didn't use the word "copyright" at all. All I said is, per the talk page policy, it says, "Please do not edit another user's discussion—even if it's full of spelling errors" (mine was a wrong word, but same idea). I then said I'm one of the people who doesn't mind, and thanked you for fixing it. Just be careful not to get in the habit of doing it everywhere as THAT could become a bad thing. CycloneGU (talk) 02:58, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
Also, should you reply, please do so here. I'll either get an e-mail alert or see it in Recent Changes. CycloneGU (talk) 02:58, 27 April 2015 (UTC)

Glad you understand. I didn't mean to edit somebody's work I'm just used to edit to correct articles, not Talk pages.--Jay-Man 15:41, 27 April 2015 (UTC)JasonL (Talk)

No worries. The point is that someone's comments are their own, not an article like everything else. Like I said, I didn't mind, but some people do - especially if you are mistaken in a correction. All is good. =) CycloneGU (talk) 15:58, 27 April 2015 (UTC)

Thank U!--Jay-Man 15:59, 27 April 2015 (UTC)JasonL

Fansubs, again

You've been warned about this before, but fansubs are not reliable sources. You also put a link to a fansub in an edit summary of yours. Putting a source for your edit in edit summaries is a good thing, but fansubs are unreliable and also illegal sources. It is not allowed to spam links to fansubs or sites providing fansubs in edits or edit summaries. Because of that, I removed your edit summary, although I didn't undo your edit as you were still right, even if you used a fansub as a source. ☼ BlazingFist ☼ 16:28, 27 April 2015 (UTC)

I didn't mean it I was just proving my theory to one of the users.--Jay-Man 00:58, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

Signing, again

Though you improved a bit from the last time I told you about your signature, it still needs to look proper. Signatures never follow the dates; instead, it's the other way around. Look at how everyone else has signed to see how it should look. In order for it to look successful, sign with 4 tildes (~~~~), no more, no less. Berrenta (talk) 22:07, 27 April 2015 (UTC)

I always do the signature I dunno what's wrong. And I'm doing it just like the users.--Jay-Man 01:00, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
Look at Berrenta's signature, and look at my signature. We link to our talk pages and user pages (though my user page doesn't exist as I never created one, so it's a red link; might do one soon since I've been contributing lately). The point is that your "signature" is just your name. It's clear to me you're using the tildes to bring it up but you edited what appears to not have those links. That makes it hard for someone to follow up with you. CycloneGU (talk) 02:44, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
On your preferences page, under the User profile tab, under the Signature section, try checking/unchecking the "Treat the above as wikicode." box. --Abcboy (talk) 02:46, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

Signing, again

You signature still didn't link to either your userpage or user talk page. To change your signature, go to Preferences. You can type like this: JasonL (talk). Don't forget to tick the "Treat as wikicode" check box. Thank you. --~~ThePokémonFanSince1995~~-- 14:00, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

Oops sorry. Guess I left out the signature.--Jay-Man 14:08, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

No, you still aren't linking your userpage in your signature, and you are required to have one in there. Please fix it immediately so it complies. You can edit in under preferences. Berrenta (talk) 01:20, 4 May 2015 (UTC)

Final Warning

Do not play by ear. Playing by ear is possibly the worst way to figure out who voiced who as other voice actors can probably produce the same voice. I have told you time and time again, contact a VA to find out their role, do not guess. Failure to follow this will have consequences. If you are unable to contact a Voice Actor, then you are going to have to refrain from editing anything about VA confirmation.--ForceFire 14:21, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

Alright. Let me make one thing clear with you, you are walking a very, very thin line with me right now and you do not want to push it. Do not remove talk page comments, regardless if you got the message or not. You have been here long enough to know of the Talk page policy, but you're clearly not. There's the link, read over it again. And sign you're messages with four tildes (~), you're clearly not doing that.--ForceFire 14:36, 2 May 2015 (UTC)
I think someone must protect Ash's Goodra to administrators only, both edit and move. I don't want an edit war now... --~~ThePokémonFanSince1995~~-- 14:41, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

I don't want to cause an edit war either I was just proving everyone's theory that's all Besides you're all Users you're supposed to figure out who voiced who is it that how you know everything on Bulbapedia? So don't lock Goodra's page until all of us (that's me, you and the others) figure out a way of this situation.--Jay-Man 14:49, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

Unless there is an actual edit war going on, there's no need to protect it.--ForceFire 14:53, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

Please

Please don't remove any talk page comments. Force Fire is right, listening just by ear is really the worst source. You are here long enough to know already the rules. Your almost not listening to our warnings (I know, your longer here in Bulbapedia than me. But the problem is, your still not following the rules enough.). --~~ThePokémonFanSince1995~~-- 14:36, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

I do follow rules. Besides you and ForceFire are users too. I thought all users supposed to listen carefully not the other way around. I was trying to help that's all. Besides since you know what's going on, maybe you or someone else can find the source so that way we can know who's right and who's wrong so there isn't a problem. And we can edit things nice and easy without conflict.--Jay-Man 14:59, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

If I said that Sliggoo is voiced by pizza, the burden of proof is on me to contact the VAs or others involved to prove that Sliggoo is voiced by pizza (or not). Is there a reason why you cannot contact the voice actors yourself? --Abcboy (talk) 15:08, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

To be honest... Yes but the voice actors take long to respond But I don't want to let it go I just wanted to find out about them I only got one respond from Billy Bob saying that Frogadier was voiced by him. Once again I said I'm going to find who voiced who one way or another.--Jay-Man 15:24, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

Then you wait for them to respond. Just because they take a long time to respond isn't a reason to rush information into an article. Like at Wikipedia, there is no deadline; it doesn't have to be done by 9 o'clock Monday. CycloneGU (talk) 15:30, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

Fine. But if I don't get any respond for real, it's up to you or someone else.--Jay-Man 22:47, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

Actually, voice actor information isn't so important. We are now focusing now to new games, like Pokémon Rumble World and Pokémon Shuffle. If you have a 3DS and downloaded either these two, just help there, because we don't care so much of who voiced Pokémon, Ash, or something. Do you know why voice actors are too long to respond? Because they are busy with their jobs. The XY series is still ongoing, so they are still dubbing characters. The same with us, we are busy with Bulbapedia, and can't respond to parents, or relatives, or friends quickly (unless they are also an user of Bulbapedia). --~~ThePokémonFanSince1995~~-- 00:55, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
I'd be careful with saying that things aren't "important". Of course while there are some tasks to complete on Bulbapedia that is of a higher priority than the voice actors, this is still valid information that some people will be coming to our pages looking for. We don't want to discourage people from contributing, but if something is out of our control, unfortunately that's the way things have to be until the situation changes. --Pokemaster97 01:07, 3 May 2015 (UTC)

Okay but isn't there another website besides Facebook and Twitter? That's all I'm asking.--Jay-Man 14:16, 3 May 2015 (UTC)

Maybe just Facebook and Twitter. Instagram, I think no. --~~ThePokémonFanSince1995~~-- 01:08, 4 May 2015 (UTC)

Preview Button (Again)

Before submitting an edit, whether an article or talk page comment, please preview by clicking the Preview button. This gives you a chance to corect anything that doesn't look right so you don't end up posting multiple edits to fix problems. Yes, I'm guilty of occasionally missing something myself, but even then, I preview and still miss it, or decide to change something only after already saving the edit. You seem to be correcting mistakes very quickly after submitting, and multiple times. Please: use the Preview button. CycloneGU (talk) 15:16, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

It's okay I always check before editing.--Jay-Man 20:51, 2 May 2015 (UTC)
It's odd, but now I can't find what I saw earlier. Perhaps I meant someone else. I do see now that you edited pages twice in a row a couple of times, and maybe that's what I was remarking on. I've done the same thing when I forget something, so it happens (I just did that in my Sandbox, in fact, when I decided to clarify something in there in case anyone muses upon my projects). CycloneGU (talk) 21:26, 2 May 2015 (UTC)
I just looked again. It was a different user I meant to alert, and I opened the wrong talk page. My mistake. CycloneGU (talk) 21:27, 2 May 2015 (UTC)
