Area Leader

Hello. I noticed you making additions to the Area Leader page. Please use the preview button next time you edit, as you have already made nearly ten edits to the page. The preview button is good especially if you are having trouble working woth complex coding. Its something good to keep in mind. Thanks, --RexRacer -talk 21:51, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

You also oughta take a shot at some of the less complex coding before jumping right into the more complex stuff. TTEchidna 04:31, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

Images

A better way to link to images, rather than copying the URL of the image itself from the archives, would be by linking to the image with wikicode.

This is done by simply putting [[Image:, and then the filename, followed by closing brackets (]]). In that way, you can make a nice little image of Whismur: 293.png.

And yes. Every single Pokémon is at its National Dex number. Do a little bit of lurking on other pages to see how it's done. Heck, a good way to learn wikicode is to see what does what on your userpage... provided you don't edit it more than three times (there's a limit, due to a problem we had in March of this year), so use the preview button! TTEchidna 04:38, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

Usually, you reply to messages left on your talk on your talk. Less confusing that way. Anyway, the thing I noticed most was that you, gasp, used link templates. Yes. Amazingly. A new user read the style primer. A new user cared to look at the welcome. You've renewed my hope in new users here, so congratulations. TTEchidna 05:31, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

Please

Slow down on editing the User: namespace. There are only three userspace edits allowed per day, and you have gone over the limit. Editing your userpage too much will lead to it being locked again. Instead of making multiple small edits, why not instead use the preview button (Alt + Shift + P) to check your edits before saving the page? Thank you. ---- MAGNEDETH 00:16, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi

I noticed you have been editing the User: namespace a lot today. You may not be aware of this, but Bulbapedia has a Userspace policy that asks users to only edit their pages three times a day, at most. Instead of making multiple edits, why not use the Preview button (Alt + Shift + P) located right next to the edit button to look at your page and see how it is coming? That way, your page can look great while staying within the required amount of edits. Just wait until tomorrow, k? Thanks! --RexRacer -talk 00:17, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

BTW, your page is awesome.--RexRacer -talk 00:17, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Sorry! One of the link template I had on my page vanished into thin air! It was fine on the preview but changed when I saved it. I went back and replaced it... but forgot that it was my 4th edit. My bad! GReimer 00:20, 8 December 2008 (UTC)GReimer

Also, you don't need to put your name after you sign. If I did that it would look like this- RexRacer -talkRexRacer. Looks a bit off. Anyway, no worries about the warning. I applaud your knowledge of link templates. I can see you becoming a great contributor to Bulbapedia.
Just keep it mind, nothing bad happens if you just get a warning. These are mostly for userspace abusers and such, but I can see that you have looked through the Manual of Style. Good luck, --RexRacer -talk 00:27, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Again

This is your second warning. Please refrain from editing the User: namespace too rapidly, or you will lose privileges. --- Kogoro | Talk to me - 18:16, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Just a heads-up, the userspace policy goes by UTC time. So you are still editing over the limit. Please, wait another 5 hours, 44 minutes before continuing to edit the userspace. While you're waiting, maybe you could make some mainspace contributions ^_^ - Kogoro | Talk to me - 18:16, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Talk Page Comments

Please don't erase talk page comments for no reason. Trust me, you do NOT want to end up like Big Johnno, who got into an edit war with a sysop over comments the former had erased and was trying to keep erased. That user ended up blocked and subsequently had every erased comment restored. --- Kogoro | Talk to me - 18:16, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Coloring in Boxes?

I'm trying to figure out how to color in boxes in a table. Just a generic table... nothing real fancy. For an excellent example check out the table on my user page under "Favorite Pokémon." I managed to change the rows by adding a line of "|- style="background: #ccf;"" but I'm wondering what "#ccf;"" means. I changed it to something simple like "pink" and that worked for Psychic-type coloring, but I'm wondering if there is a link I can go to to find the shortcuts for colors (i.e. #ccf made it a light blue). Or is there a way easier way to do this? Any help would be awesome!GReimer 04:40, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

You can always google basic html, but if you are looking for a certain color, like one related to an elemental type, you can just put in {{psychic color}}. Makes things easier.--RexRacer -talk 04:44, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
I tried that... it didn't work. Maybe I messed up something earlier.--GReimer 04:50, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

UTC to MST?

I'm having a little trouble figuring out what time it is UTC... I guess the fastest way is to post something here and then it will tell me! I checked online and it looks like it said 7 hours but I don't really understand what that means. If it's, well, 2:15 pm here then what is it UTC? 9:15 pm or 7:15 am? Or am I way off?--GReimer 21:14, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Aha! It's 7 hours ahead!!!!! Got it!--GReimer 21:16, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Editing My User Page

If you check my user page under "Fun Pokémon Stories," the last story regards a Smeargle. There is a box with the Smeargle's move set located underneath the article. I'd like to move that to the left of the article (the text) but I can't figure out how to. Can anyone help?--GReimer 04:37, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

Did you check it in firefox? Ill help. BTW, thats a great pageDCM((曲奇饼妖怪Spy on My Edits)) 02:23, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
Firefox? The web browser? I use Safari... I don't think it's the browser. Other boxes have no problem aligning correctly. I think it's the type of box I used. I'd like to keep it only move it to the left behind the text.--GReimer 02:32, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Shiny Pokémon Question

If you go to the Shiny Pokémon page and look under Generation II, the second paragraph says:

"Due to the probability of the IVs lining up in any of these manners to produce a shiny Pokémon, the chance of obtaining one in Generation II is approximately 1/8192. However, if one breeds a shiny Pokémon properly, the offspring may have as high as a 1/64 chance of being shiny, depending on the species of Pokémon."

I was wondering if anyone knew if the breeding thing still applies in Generation III and up. Anyone?--GReimer 18:01, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Question About Arceus's Type

As I've been going through Bulbapedia I've noticed that Arceus is listed as different types on different pages (listed as Ground type on Multitype's page and Water type on Arceus's actual page). I understand that Arceus's type changes based on what plate it holds but shouldn't its original and true type be what it is when it's not holding anything? Listing it as a certain type but only with a held item is like listing Pikachu's Special Attack but only when it's holding a Light Ball. Arceus is a Normal type Pokémon. I think it should be listed as such and I was wondering why it's not. I'd like to change it but I was wondering if there was a good reason behind it. I don't see Multitype as something that determines type upon encountering Arceus. Even with it's ability, Arceus will be a Normal type Pokémon when you actually encounter it in the game. Someone please explain if I'm missing something. Thanks!GReimer 17:26, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

First of all, this question should be posted on Talk:Arceus (Pokémon). Second, there's a timer on arceus's page and all move pages with arceus on it. This timer changes its type every second. If you were to go to one of these pages where arceus seems to be a certain type, click the time on the top right corner of the page, and it's almost guaranteed it will change. Hop i helped!--Dark ICE (User:Cold)(page, talk) 17:29, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the explanation! I didn't know about the timer. Thanks!GReimer 17:40, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Preventing Evolution When Trading?

I'm looking to transfer my Pokémon from Diamond to Platinum and I'll be trading a lot of shinies. I don't want some of them to evolve (Like Machoke, Haunter, or Graveler). I remembered the in game trade for Haunter in Snowpoint City prevented evolution by using an Everstone. I've tried having them hold an Everstone and tried holding B to stop the evolution. Nothing has worked. Is there any way to trade them without them evolving?GReimer 03:20, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

Everstone should work. —darklordtrom 05:28, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

Inspired Me

Yo've inspired me. I'm going to hunt for shinys!

I'm glad to hear it whoever you are! When you've done everything in the game then the only thing left to do is go after the rare shiny pokémon. Feel free to ask me any questions about obtaining them.GReimer 23:43, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

Links

I noticed on your user page you linked to the same articles lots of times. You only really need to link to them once in a page. Thanks! --Juzey!! (Talk) 18:08, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Ok, I'll comb through and eliminate the repeats. Thanks!GReimer 20:30, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
I've removed as many repeated links as I could find. If anyone out there can find more repeats and remove them it would be very much appreciated :) GReimer 20:24, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

Victini

Says on your page you're SRing for a shiny Victini. I'll tell you right now, can't be done. They've programmed it so certain Pokemon can't be shiny. These are, the Zorua in Castelia City, the Zoroark in Lostlorn Forest, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Victini. Just wanted to save you the trouble of finding this out the hard way. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 01:48, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

Ok thanks! I haven't actually started yet I just added it because it was on my shiny "to do" list. I guess I don't need to! I already made my edit for today so I'll fix it tomorrow. GReimer 09:07, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

Can't Edit My User Page

I logged on today to tweek a couple things on my User page and am unable to edit it. Does anyone know why? Also, last time I edited it said my page was getting too big and I should break it into smaller sections. How do I break it into smaller sections? I've been on Bulbapedia for a while now but my editing skills are still pretty novice. Please help! GReimer 00:56, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

Hey GReimer, my name is Jediknightdtv, most people on here call me Jedi for short, it is nice to meet you. I haven't even been around here as long as you have, but I wanted to try to help you out with your problem. As far as I can tell, there is no reason on the Bulbapedia side of things as to why you cannot edit your userpage. I checked the History, and it is not protected (which is a common thing that the Admins do nowadays when you violate the one-edit-per-day rule for the userspace). Protected means that it can only be edited by an Admin or above, and I can see no evidence of that in the history of your page. You might want to ask an Admin if you are having problems editing your userpage, that list can be found here. As far as breaking your page into smaller sections goes, you can always put some parts of your userpage onto smaller sub-pages into your userspace. For example, you could create a sub-page for all of the shiny Pokémon you have obtained by creating it at User:GReimer/Shinies, or something to that effect. Or one for your fun stories at User:GReimer/Stories. You get the idea, right? Anyway, that is all of the advice that I have to offer you, if you have any other questions, feel free to drop me a line on my talk page. TTYL. --ジェダイの騎士デジタルテレビ 01:35, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
The reason you are not able to edit your user page is because as of May 31, 2011, you were put into the "abuse" category, due to the fact that you have made very few overall mainspace edits. Looking at your history, you started two months after I did (December 2008), but you have made less than 50 mainspace edits to date, while userspace edits are more than double. Read the Userspace policy again, and understand that the userspace is a privilege on Bulbapedia. I highly suggest that you start contributing to the mainspace, and I mean a lot, if you want to get your userspace privileges back. --rockersk08 04:23, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
