As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:
- For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
- The manual of style is very important. Make sure to read it. It outlines all official policies of Bulbapedia.
- Keep an eye on the Messages from the Editor on the main page, to stay informed on current events on Bulbapedia.
- The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The é can be accessed by holding Alt and typing either 130 or 0233 on a Windows computer, and by using Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can easily click it in the character palette below the editbox.
- The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a capital B. The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
- The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon or other media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
- On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
- The use of link templates is official policy. For an explanation on their use, see the page on shortlinks.
- If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
- A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
- For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
- Image uploading is done on Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki accessible through the toolbox in the sidebar. This is done so that both Bulbapedia and Bulbanews have access to the images uploaded. To activate your account at the Archives and Bulbanews, please login there using the same username and password you use here on Bulbapedia.
- If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:Felinoel/Talk Archive/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
- Having said this, please make sure that you do contribute adequately to the main namespace. Bulbapedia is not MySpace or Facebook.
- A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem can be found here.

Just a few things..
It's HeartGold and SoulSilver, not Heart Gold and Soul Silver. Also we do not link to them like this: [[HeartGold]], but rather {{game|HeartGold}} or {{v2|HeartGold}}. Also, please use "the player", not "you". Thanks! たかはりい 07:36, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi
I noticed you have been editing the User: namespace a lot recently. Please don't do it any more, though. Bulbapedia's Userspace policy restricts the amount you can edit your userpage. This policy was instated to prevent strain on our server, and also to promote people helping out in the mainspace. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, after all, so help us out by contributing to some articles before coming back to your personal userpage. The more often you edit in the mainspace, the more you will be allowed to edit your userpage. Thanks! ----rockersk08 01:36, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
- Well I was just having a hard time recoding an infobox for my page, and then I just had to add my distaste for this Wiki allowing speculation, it shouldn't be edited too much anymore, hey while I have you, I just want to complain about me not being able to remove the speculation linked to on my user page. I mean, since you do call Bulbapedia an encyclopedia, there really shouldn't be speculation in one of those... felinoel 01:44, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
- Your userpage is not mainspace, so you can put all the speculation you want on your page. People even create subpages to keep track of personal thoughts or predictions. As for the starter speculation about numbers, all I can say is that there might be a good chance that the starters will be listed in the same order as the previous starters. Unless Black and White throws a curveball at the end, I wouldn't sweat it compared to other BW topics that have little information. --rockersk08 01:52, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
- No, I am talking about speculation not being something that should exist on the mainspace, whether or not there is a good chance of something happening is still speculation. (Not quite) Confirmed "speculation"
Tsutarja is now confirmed as numero uno in the Isshu Pokédex, so you can stop getting your knickers in a knot about it. I think now you can also stop worrying about Mijumaru, seeing as Tsutarja and Pokabu both follow the previously set pattern.--Pokélova! 05:17, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- First of all, there was no doubt in my mind about the ordering of the starters, but it was never officially stated anywhere and so that lack of doubt was only speculation, which btw it is still not confirmed who the third pokemon is, and I am unsure of how sure the typings are for those first nine pokemon. felinoel 11:42, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Preview button
You know that button beside "Save Page", the one that says "Show Preview"? I highly suggest you start using it. It would certainly help remedy the editing problems that you're having, as you would see if what you've done works right, before it's on the live page. - When I do use it, it loads fine, but when I save it to the page, all it shows is the word Party and it links to the Party article? I just rewrote the whole thing and hopefully fixed it, if not I will just leave it as is and go to the next Area Leader. felinoel 07:14, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- You've exceeded the template limit on that specific page. Instead of adding them section by section, using the "edit this page" tab at the top of the page would have allowed you to add them all with less edits, and would have allowed you to find that you're using too many templates. - Kogoro | Talk to me - 07:18, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
