Welcome to Bulbapedia, Bowserbros!

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Link Templates

Please familiarize yourself with Bulbapedia's Link templates when linking types, moves, abilities, and Pokémon species among other things to pages. You can find a full list here. Schiffy (瀬藤健二) (Talk Contribs) 15:16, 4/24/2014 (UTC)

Please remember to use link templates so that you don't link to redirects.
One of the most important link templates to remember is {{p}}. Use this when linking a Pokemon's name, such as {{p|Machoke}}, instead of [[Machoke]] which is a redirect. Tiddlywinks (talk) 22:55, 15 March 2016 (UTC)

Catch rates/assumptions

Please try not write things like a catch rate was changed "due to [X]" unless you can cite an official source. You may believe that it's entirely logical, but you can't KNOW whether it's true or not unless someone who worked on the game says so. Please be careful about making such assumptions. Thanks. Tiddlywinks (talk) 06:28, 8 March 2016 (UTC)

Italics

Please do not italicize game titles. This is not something we do on the wiki as a habit. If, perhaps, you think they should be italicized, then you can argue for that somewhere (such as here), but in the meantime, please follow our current standards. Thanks. Tiddlywinks (talk) 23:01, 8 March 2016 (UTC)

Event-exclusive

Please understand that the "Event-exclusive Pokémon species" section of the Event Pokemon page is meant for Pokemon that cannot be obtained in that generation. Pokemon like Latias and Latios in Generation III do not count. Tiddlywinks (talk) 20:16, 10 March 2016 (UTC)

{{game}}

When linking to pre-Gen VI core series games, use {{game}} instead of {{g}}. The difference is that the former links to "Pokémon <name> Version" rather than just "Pokémon <name>". So {{game|Emerald}} would link directly to Pokémon Emerald Version, while {{g|Emerald}} would just link to Pokémon Emerald, which is a redirect.

Note that "s" should be passed as a second parameter when linking to an article about multiple games such as Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, and that {{g}} is acceptable for Gen VI games since they don't have the "Version" suffix.--Cold (talk) 17:52, 11 March 2016 (UTC)

You've made the opposite mistake in a recent edit... What's more, your mistake resulted in a red link. A mistake like that should have been very easy to catch if you were just paying attention (and especially if you used preview). Please take some more care with your edits (and their results) in the future. Tiddlywinks (talk) 06:06, 12 March 2016 (UTC)
