May I...

May I copy the code of Talk Page Size user template? It is said to the rules that users must ask permission to copy the code of something snazzy in their talk page or user page, and I did it. Thank you! --~~ThePokémonFanSince1995~~-- 04:59, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

I don't mind. You can replace any instance of my username with yours for your version. Berrenta (talk) 12:04, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
Thanks! I will make it different so this is semi-unique. I can't do it yet, because I am using my 3DS. I will do it when I am using a computer or iPad. --~~ThePokémonFanSince1995~~-- 03:38, 15 April 2015 (UTC)
Sounds good. Berrenta (talk) 04:50, 15 April 2015 (UTC)

Dawn image file

Earlier, I moved a image file name called Dawn Anime.png to a:File:Dawn DP 3.png. I was able to fix the link on all of the pages it was used on except for Darkeiya's userpage due to the page being protected. Can you fix said link to the current link or Darkeiya could do it if she isn't busy at the moment? PattyMan 03:30, 17 April 2015 (UTC)

Consider it done. Berrenta (talk) 04:03, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
Thank you. PattyMan 04:28, 17 April 2015 (UTC)

Diamond Crater Page

I think someone copied and pasted my working page from my userspace into mainspace. I've reviewed the page and have found inaccuracies; for instance, 2 Star bosses so far have not appeared in the Special stage, and it has Lopunny - the 1 Star boss - appearing in the Entrance area, which also does not happen. Therefore, can you please delete Diamond Crater? I'm almost done (the page structure is actually complete and ready to move as it is, I just have a couple of things to check at Pearl Marsh and am moving both).

I've also educated the user on the existing userspace pages (so far up to Origin Hideaway) and invited any assistance. These and especially later ones will take a while unless I splurge on Diamonds. LOL CycloneGU (talk) 18:26, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

To update this, I expect to be moving Black Realm and White Ruins into place later this evening as I have completed those lists. Just found and caught the other two members of the Flygon family and saw the Delibird silhouette, so that finishes the Unova group. Love how the text says "find lots of 'region' Pokémon here!" but half of them are from another region... CycloneGU (talk) 20:01, 22 April 2015 (UTC)
Diamond Crater should be freed up now. Berrenta (talk) 20:24, 22 April 2015 (UTC)
Noted. I think all four pages are ready to go, so I'll get templates set up for two later areas (I bought 1,000 Diamonds, must say I like how Nintendo is doing this game and am supporting it, cheaper than Rumble Blast after all LMAO) then do a final review and move. CycloneGU (talk) 20:33, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

White Ruins

It seems I cannot move User:CycloneGU/White Ruins to White Ruins. Can you please do this? It's strange as I can create a page at White Ruins right now, but that nixes the edit history. CycloneGU (talk) 23:55, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

On research, it's the name of an anime location. I'll move the page to attach (anime) but the resulting redirect will need to be nixed. CycloneGU (talk) 23:56, 22 April 2015 (UTC)
I just checked "what links here" on it. There's a lot there. What is your opinion on this; is it worthwhile going through all of those? It seems weird that we'd have to label one differently, but it seems inappropriate to add (Rumble World area) on every single page name to have consistency; I'd rather either merge the pages or put (anime) on that one, which I've done. CycloneGU (talk) 00:02, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
After all that, please disregard. Looks like Abcboy took my suggestion of a disambiguation page. I'll see if I can help relink some things there. CycloneGU (talk) 01:07, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
Sounds good. I would have considered a disambiguation page as well when a case like that happens. Berrenta (talk) 04:36, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
Yeah. This was a perfect case of where multiple uses of something both have legitimate numerous references; the anime one being a pivotal point in the story, and the one in the game being the source of game information for five different stages. Which still makes the Brendan treatment confusing; I know on that talk page I had pointed out that, if an anime form of Brendan ever appears, we can disambiguate it at that time; however, it seems "consistency" was preferred and Brendan just redirects every time it's brought up. That continues to confuse me since I'm sure that uses additional resources (to redirect) than just putting it at that location in the first place and repointing all Wikilinks there. Evobox-4 template

Hello, Berrenta. While I am browsing Bulbapedia, I visited the Pidgeot article when I found out it have a Mega Evolution (I don't know it have one...). I just clicked the artwork of Mega Pidgeot. Then I found out that it is also linked to User:Iml908/Mega Pidgeot. I checked out the source, and it uses an user template. I go to the main user template and clicked the history. I found out it is created June 2014. I think this is meant to be moved to the Template namespace, so I think to message you. Can you move it please to Template:Evobox-4? That template is really useful. Maybe the creator didn't use the {{mainspace}} template so no one haven't knew it. Lucky me I found it. Thank you! --~~ThePokémonFanSince1995~~-- 12:48, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

I don't mean to answer, but I was just in the neighbourhood right above this. I'm a little confused. Are you suggesting that the template on that user's page needs to be moved into the template space? If so, templates don't need to be moved into the mainspace unless they are being used by an article in the mainspace. Further, templates can be used in userspace while a page is being prepped for mainspace; I did this at List of Pokémon by Pokémon Shuffle list number. I believe if a user page is the only one using it, the template should be in userspace. Is there a mainspace article that is using the template in question? CycloneGU (talk) 17:22, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
Actually, I just researched this. For Berrenta's reference, here is what links to it; everything is in userspace, and it seems to be an abandoned project. I'll leave it to Berrenta to decide whether the project should be moved to mainspace. CycloneGU (talk) 17:30, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
I'll go bring this up with the other staff members, and see what they think, as I may not be able to act on it right away. Berrenta (talk) 21:52, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
I hope they will accept my request, as it is really useful. --~~ThePokémonFanSince1995~~-- 07:17, 24 April 2015 (UTC)
Since we do not count Mega Evolutions as an evolution, we won't be needing the template.--ForceFire 07:51, 24 April 2015 (UTC)
Huh? I don't know it doesn't count in Bulbapedia. --~~ThePokémonFanSince1995~~-- 08:40, 24 April 2015 (UTC)
The games doesn't call them an evolution either, just a transformation method.--ForceFire 08:54, 24 April 2015 (UTC)
Nintendo must have call it Mega Transformation instead... I also created a user template. It is called Evobox-Primal. I also created two test pages. They are Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre. - unsigned comment from Pokéfan95 (talkcontribs)

New Arceus Switch Test (Rumble World)

I'm trying to figure out what I did wrong. If you were to click "Edit" on the page or section, and then immediately click Preview, the switch in the first of two tables at that point on the page would indicate the next day's type, a Poison-type Arceus, for April 3 (this has been researched extensively and I have come to a conclusion of how it works, so plan to put it in the Legend Terrain table changing Arceus' type daily). However, looking at the page before editing, it shows the initial test and save from today (my time), which still says Flying (which is correct for April 2). I'm trying to figure out how to make it auto-update like the Castform and Shaymin articles and the Mediawiki doesn't seem to have that answer. Any help?

If you have an idea, go ahead and edit. After any changes, I'll wait until the next day after the changes to see if it works automatically. CycloneGU (talk) 00:32, 3 May 2015 (UTC)

You have to purge the page (using the clock up by your username) for it to update. Editing the page (or previewing it) also updates it. --Abcboy (talk) 00:57, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
Ah, and I see it just updated on its own, too. I clicked the clock on a different page and updated the Sandbox and it updated. So clicking the clock purges?
Doesn't explain why Shaymin is showing Sky Forme right now; by UTC time, it should be showing Land Forme, I thought. But hey, at least the switch I'm trying out works. I'll go ahead and implement it, and perhaps add that table and a description of how it works so any casual viewers can understand. What do you think of including the date under the type in the table to further show that the type changes daily? CycloneGU (talk) 01:11, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
BTW, I put in a tooltip on the Sandbox to try out nesting stuff; check that out if you'd like. The tooltip would work and can be used, but the explanation and type table would still be useful. The question is how to implement it now. CycloneGU (talk) 01:20, 3 May 2015 (UTC)

New Electro Ball Picture

Here's a picture showing Magnezone's Electro Ball. What do u think?--Poke Cool21 (Talk) 01:21, 11 May 2015 (UTC) [1]

Seeing that it's from a wikia, it may be risky to use it without their permission. You may get a better answer from an archives staff member. Berrenta (talk) 01:59, 11 May 2015 (UTC)

Edit request

Hey Berrenta, since you were the one that previously discussed how to use the SmashMoves template, can you look over this? Particularly my comment. Thanks~! ht14 05:29, 3 June 2015 (UTC)

Should look proper for Brawl's case. It may need further adjustment for Smash 4, so it won't look as awkward. Berrenta (talk) 19:31, 7 June 2015 (UTC)

Character Leak for SSB4

In case you haven't heard yet two new downloadable characters have just been leaked. First Roy of Fire Emblem, much like Dr. Mario is also returning for Melee. Second another Capcom character will also be playable, Ryu from Street Fighter. Here is a source to verify this. [2] -Tyler53841 (talk) 23:00, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

I've been aware of it. If they're not added already, I'll go right ahead, as they are officially confirmed. Berrenta (talk) 17:06, 15 June 2015 (UTC)

Help, please

I think I might have discovered a new Glitch in ORAS, I just need to know if I just write down the steps to the glitch, or do I leave a Video.

Sincerely, LightningStrike43 - unsigned comment from Lightningstrike43 (talkcontribs)

Writing down the steps will be great, though you may also add a video with it. Berrenta (talk) 14:21, 21 June 2015 (UTC)

horray!

congratulations on your promotion! --Valehd (tAlk) 02:59, 26 July 2015 (UTC)

You were a few months late (I was promoted in April) but thanks anyways! Berrenta (talk) 23:52, 26 July 2015 (UTC)

Voice actor for Jessie's Gourgeist

Hello it's me. I put in that Haven Paschall voices Jessie's Gourgeist but then you undid it. You were wrong about the two Gourgeist being different. It's the same Pokémon. It's Jessie's Gourgeist. On Count Pumpk's page it shows Haven Paschall as the voice actor for Gourgeist but why not on the actual page? It's the same one, not two different ones. I'm suggesting you should change it back to what I had. MaahirMomtaz12 (talk) 00:41, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

The made-up RPG

I thought you were going to nuke it. サトミュウ (SatoMew) 22:04, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

I'll be on it. Was wondering if there were any objections, but since nobody spoke up, I'll go right ahead. Berrenta (talk) 00:20, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
Thank you kindly :) サトミュウ (SatoMew) 07:50, 28 September 2015 (UTC)

{{Beta}}

Could you remove Pokémon Picross from there? Unreleased games aren't exactly data-mined unless their ROMs leak somewhere, which is what our articles talk about (the pre-release stuff is currently misplaced in them). SatoMew2 (talk) 20:34, 15 October 2015 (UTC)

I'll need to speak to the editorial board before I do anything with that. What's keeping me from acting on that at the moment is that some beta pages had pre-release screenshots instead of data-mined info. Berrenta (talk) 12:46, 16 October 2015 (UTC)

Assistance requested on a few maintenance pages

Hello, Berrenta. I would like to request assistance on a few matters involving Special:SpecialPages.

For the first matter, it involves the Userspace pages User:TehPerson/Sandbox and User:TehPerson/Sandbox2. Sandbox2 has three categories that are not created per Special:WantedCategories. The three categories were old temporary categories that have been deleted. Sandbox2 is using a template from Sandbox that contains the code that is creating the wanted categories on Sandbox2. The user has not made any edits recently and might not be back for some time. I was wondering if the offending code could be hidden or removed in one way or another so that the categories can be removed from Special:WantedCategories. (The remaining categories are being called from Mainspace articles.)

For the second matter, it involves Special:DisambiguationPageLinks. Currently, there are over 1,000 articles that are linking to disambiguation pages. According to Template:Disambig, "If an article link referred you here, please go back and fix it to point directly to the intended page." For some articles like Poké Ball, the page they link to is pages like Safari Zone, Pokémon in Spanish, Pokémon in French, and Battle Frontier. For SZ and BF, both are referenced as all of their respective areas in the games on the page. For the Spanish and French links, they come from the "In other languages" section of the article. I was wondering if I could have your opinion about this. --Super goku (talk) 22:29, 18 October 2015 (UTC)

Sorry for the delay. I may look through those and fix as much as I can. Berrenta (talk) 18:16, 26 October 2015 (UTC)
Okay, as far as it's concerned, Sandbox2 is using a template that has those categories as default. I may need to speak to a higher-ranked staff member about this. A deletion may be in order for Sandbox2, since it appears to test the code in Sandbox, but I want to double check with them.
As for the Disambiguation Page Links, some are okay as is (like in cases where a Pokémon's page links to its disambiguation page), but shouldn't hurt to go through the list and fix what should not link to the disambigs. Berrenta (talk) 18:26, 26 October 2015 (UTC)

Adding Japanese Blue to Kanto region

Hello Berrenta, I could use the assistance of an administrator.

For the Pokemon availability tables of Gen I in Kanto, I was hoping to add a fourth column for Japanese Blue Version in addition to Red/Blue/Yellow, using the Japanese Bulbapedia translated as a source. I am able to edit Template:Catch/entry1 to have a fourth column, and then go through each Kanto page and edit accordingly.

The problem is, when I did that, it came out looking funky. The "Games" title only stretched over the first three game columns ("R"/"B"/"JB") while yellow ("Y") was stretched out under location and level. To see what it looked like, for example, see my revision today Oct 29 on Cinnabar Island.

Another user, rightly so, undid the revisions I made so far due to the look. I think the problem is in Template:Catch/header, which can only be edited by an administrator. Would you be able to edit that template so that if I still want to add Japanese Blue Version Pokemon for Kanto areas, the "Games" title will stretch over all four Gen I games.

Are you able to help me? PalletTownie (talk) 06:42, 30 October 2015 (UTC)

Looked over the template in question, but unfortunately I could not find a remedy to this there. There is Template:Catch/entry1, though, which I think is what is needed instead, though the header can get columns adjusted if necessary. I'll go see about a solution to this. Berrenta (talk) 00:39, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
Got a test template ready, and will test it with the catch header/footer later on. However, as this is a major change, I'll need to ask other staff members if they are okay with this. Berrenta (talk) 15:04, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
