Reminder

Hi Ataro. Just a reminder that you don't have to stoop to other people's levels if they are insulting you. Don't take the bait, don't reply and report them to a staff member. Even if they seem like they're being a moron, it's not always best to call them out on it... because their moronity continues. *insert Code of Conduct warning here* :D —darklordtrom 07:46, 30 October 2010 (UTC)

Yes ma'am! Ataro 07:49, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
If we're being super-formal, then that would be sir ;) —darklordtrom 07:54, 30 October 2010 (UTC)

Hi, Ataro. You said that there's no chance that Dent's Ishizumai has Broken Armor. Did you watch the episode where Dent captured it? It did use it's ability this ability.

Greets Mimey.

help.

HELP!!!! I used an AR code to walk OUT of Amity Square WITH a pokemon (shroomish) traveling with me in Diamond. I accidentally saved. Does ANYONE have an AR code to remove a partner walking with you?!?! I cant fly or surf! And I have a hard time catching anything! I cant use my fishin rod either! And Dont go on about how cheating is wrong. I was trying to research DPBox and Invisible Shiny Bulbasaur. I did, however, come to one conclusion: Its the SAME POKEMON. When it faints, the entire thing is seen. So... can you help?????

Small Question

Hey Ataro. Small question. So, when Raikou fires the electric attack, Falkner says its Spark, but when he fires it again and it collides with Entei's Fire Blast, he says it's Thunder. Can you tell me which one it is? Littlmiget123 21:00, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

oh crap, I made a mistake, the attacks are so similar I mistook one for the other...Ataro 21:06, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
Well, he says at first it's spark, so I posted it as Spark. But then he says it's Thunder, so now I'm confused. Any idea? Littlmiget123 21:10, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
Ok, here's the deal I just read the RAW and it is in fact Spark (they even use the quotes for it) and the second move is Thunder Ataro 21:14, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
So it's two different attacks then...? Okay then, I'll probably move everything from Spark to Thunder (and add your picture as well) since the Spark attack wasn't seen. Sound good? Littlmiget123 21:18, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
nah, I changed the Thunder image to it's correct move...I'll probably use an image from the Emerald saga for thunder instead. Keep the pic Ataro 21:20, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

Warning users

Next time, make sure to leave a message on their talk page after the first offense, rather than hoping they're watching the RC and talking to them through edit summaries. New users usually don't know the ways of the wiki and may think that their edit is just randomly disappearing (or something), so if they're in the wrong you've got to let them know. —darklordtrom 20:49, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

Signing

If you are going to jump at users who have been here less than an hour, please at least do things properly yourself. Putting your signature on a new line screws up the indents and is generally frowned upon. Also, please try to be more polite and kind with new users. They may not have even had a chance to read the policy pages yet, and your comments come off as rude and demanding - not the thing that is likely to make new users think highly of Bulbapedia. In short, take a deep breath, calm down and play nice, especially with new users. Thanks. Werdnae (talk) 20:40, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

Additionally, if the re-signing is within the next few minutes (or even on the same minute... :/), it's not a big deal. It's when they add it much later, and when people can get confused, that it becomes an issue. Yes, there are rules for a reason. But they need to be applied independently to each situation. —darklordtrom 20:23, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

Just so you know...

It actually is a bird. —darklordtrom 04:15, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Main characters

Are Bel/Cheren with a Wally role or the role as the other Dex Holders? --CoolPikachu! 19:21, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

They were personally given Starter Pokemon Ataro 20:18, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
Hm... Alright, thanks. --CoolPikachu! 20:19, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Passive aggressive behavior

You have been told about this before, but please drop the attitude/anger and stop attacking every single user that doesn't get things right the first time. Your most recent edit summary was uncalled for and just really unnecessary. You could have easily placed the image elsewhere. We don't want to scare away potential editors if they see people like you losing their cool over small edits. Keep that in mind. Thanks. Jellotalk 23:01, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

info on image you gave me

I see your point about Daikenki being able to stand on it's hind legs. I stand corrected. Do you think you could give me the information about that photo? (If you don't know what I'm talking about then look at the bottom of my talk page.) You said it is official. It would be nice to know how it is official. Things like where that image came from.--Alex726(talk) 22:42, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

It's a poster for the game Ataro 22:55, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
Thank you--Alex726(talk) 00:37, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Coco?

So, I was reading PS211, and it shows a flashback with Norman and Ruby's mom talking over his contest battles. In the flashback, it goes to a panel showing a young Ruby in his room, sleeping with a Skitty (Coco), and just a Skitty. Does that mean that Coco would be Ruby's starter Pokemon? Littlmiget123 20:19, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

Nah..In a later chapter an even younger Ruby is seen sending out Nana, Coco, and Ruru at one point. In fact I remember something about all three being given to him by his father, technically all of them are his starters Ataro 20:35, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
Oh, okay then. ^^ I just wasn't sure, and I just don't like the fact that he has three starters XD. Thanks for answering my question. Littlmiget123 20:40, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

Exbo's Page

Firstly, pardon my rudeness, but since when was it ever a rule that jpg images couldn't be uploaded into the database? It's a perfectly fine (not to mention permitted) image format, so there's no reason to undo, much less delete the image unless you want to hear people seriously bicker.

Then, check how Exbo fires a large stream of fire from the flame lit on his shoulder when Aibo supports it with Gold's cue, and then look when he performs Blast burn later to destroy the Kyogre monster. Same stance, same effect, and even Guile states that the attack's firepower was like nothing he'd seen. It's a clearly cognate case with his future usages of the technique, including in the HGSS arc. An attack doesn't have to be flat-out shouted for us to know what it is (that's like saying that because Red didn't physically order a Solarbeam against Zapmolcuno, it was just a standard attack >_>).

So, yeah. Any real reasoning behind that last undoing? Kaboomustdie 01:53, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

It's not that jpgs can't be uploaded, it's that pngs are the preferred ones, and we already had a png image on the page. And about Exbo's attack, well think about it for a sec, Gold had been training during that time, plus Aibo powered it up with the pole cue. So it was more of a powered up flamethrower, besides, they wouldn't reveal the attack early would they? Ataro 02:01, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

The only time that we saw two attacks look the same (besides Zuzu and Silver's Feraligatr, who just fire their water attacks from their mouths) was Green's "Blasty" firing off its Hydro cannon from the shoulder cannons only in the Emerald chapter due to an oversight. I highly doubt that Kusaka would have Exbo's Blast burn and Flamethrower look exactly the same if he planned to introduce them both in the exact same chapter (remember, Exbo never launched a Flamethrower in the GSC chapter), not to mention that we have Gold and Silver fire off their ultimate attacks in the first damn round in the HGSS arc anyway. Plus, plenty of higher-grade attacks debut before their weaker counterparts. For example, Saur used Solarbeam against the Machoke before he used Razor leaf (ane even Leech seed), Blasty was seen using Hydro pump long before it used Water gun or Bubble, and in volume 8, Totodile used Slash before it used basic attacks like Scratch, Zuzu used Earthquake before it used Mud shot, etc.

Then, back to the point about few attacks looking the same, even Exbo's Flame Wheel and Ember attacks looked distinctly different (despite their powers not differing that much), so why would either Kusaka or Yamamoto make two radically different attacks look the same unless they wanted to add in a crapload of confusion? o_0

So, yeah. Something to think about... Kaboomustdie 02:48, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

Alright, I've yet to see you provide any convincing arguments from you (let alone one that validates Kusaka being on high enough to have two attacks looking exactly the same debut within 4 rounds of each other), and I see no reason you should have any reason to argue when I go so kind as to upload the image in your "right" format, so I'll take it as a cue to resume editing in peace (considering you haven't added stuff here in days). Feel free to prove me wrong if you can here, but if you undo other people's contributions on the basis of your sole, undersupported opinion we might have some problems.
