- Winona: Winona means "firstborn daughter" in the Dakota language. Ref.
- Roark: Derived from Ruarc? Meaning: Possibly means "squall, rainstorm" in Irish. Ref.
- Volkner: Derived from Volker(?): Derived from the Germanic element folk "people" combined with heri "army". Ref.
- Maylene: Derived from?: May: Derived from the name of the month of May, which derives from Maia, the name of a Roman goddess. May is also another name of the hawthorn flower. Ref. + lene: German, Danish and Norwegian short form of HELENE or MAGDALENE. Ref.
- Byron: From a surname which was originally from a place name meaning "place of the cow sheds" in Old English. Ref.
- Candice: Derived from Candace; meaning: From the hereditary title of the queens of Ethiopia, as mentioned in Acts in the New Testament. It is apparently derived from Cushitic kdke meaning "queen mother". In some versions of the Bible it is spelled Kandake, reflecting the Greek spelling Κανδακη. Ref.
- Cynthia: Latinized form of Greek Κυνθια (Kynthia) which means "woman from Kynthos". Ref.

- Lorelei: From a Germanic name meaning "luring rock". This is the name of a rock headland on the Rhine River. Legends say that a maiden named the Lorelei lives on the rock and lures fishermen to their death with her song. Ref.
- Juan: Spanish and Manx form of Iohannes (see JOHN). Ref. English form of Iohannes, the Latin form of the Greek name Ιωαννης (Ioannes), itself derived from the Hebrew name יוֹחָנָן (Yochanan) meaning "YAHWEH is gracious". Ref.
