A Signature Pokémon is a Pokémon that any high ranking or important trainer usually saves for last (most notably in the anime), or that is most often associated with that trainer. A trainer's signature Pokémon very rarely, if ever, shares members of its evolutionary family with the rest of his or her team. Elite Four members are generally the exception to this, as they tend to use multiple members of the same family or, in a lot of cases, multiples of the same Pokémon (Lance's Dragonite being an excellent example).

This is a list of each Gym Leader's and Champion's signature Pokémon, as well the signature Pokémon of other notable trainers, such as Red.
