User:Immewnity/Guides/Site decompilation
immewnity here, working on a guide to decompile a website. What's that, you say? Well, website decompilation is basically finding a needle in a haystack, except with this guide, you'll have a needle GPS on hand.
What you'll need and where to get them
For all sections
Preparation
Install Firefox, then the addon.
Instructions
Go to the website.
Click the ABP button.
Right-click on files shown and click open in new tab. Depending on what you are looking for, different file types are what you'd look for. If I'm looking for data, such as on the GTS website, I'd look for XML files. If I'm looking for images, I'd look for image formats. If I'm looking for Flash files, I'd look for SWF. In this case, I'm looking for SWF.
In this case, there are two SWF files, teaser.swf and teaser_loading.swf. Download these, then extract the information. If it's an XML file, generally viewing the source code should do the trick.
In conclusion
Dang, that was short. Don't give me a tl;dr, read the thing!
