Yes, the battle actually took three fucking episodes... It's over with now and for the semi-finals, Ash is up against some hacker with his so called unbeatable Darkrai.
Despite Ash's best efforts (Sceptile beat that Darkrai!) he ends up losing... I guess a good thing is that Gliscor's safe at the lab now.

I called this one! Ash stays true to his pattern by catching a Pidove. New TR then take Pikachu again but the same Oshawott from before stops them.

Ash catches the Oshawott that was stalking him and gains a new fan in the form of a sunglasses wearing Sandile, who begins following him.

Trends continue as Ash takes in an abandoned Tepig who later helps stop yet another New TR Pikachu capture.

Pignite then got to blast that soulless creep's face with a Flamethrower. It made Charmander feel better and by god it made Pignite feel better too.

Much later, Krokorok cranks the badass level up to 9001 by evolving into Krookodile and defeating Iris's Dragonite one on one in front of a huge crowd.
