Trivia
* Red's Snorlax in the games is likely based on the Snorlax that can be found blocking 16 in Generation I and FireRed and LeafGreen, as only one Snorlax can be found in Generation II and HeartGold and SoulSilver, blocking the entrance to the Diglett's Cave. This suggests that Red caught the Snorlax that was blocking Route 16 and defeated the one that used to block 12.

Snor (Japanese: ゴン Gon), known as Lax in Chuang Yi's translations, was the fifth Pokémon shown to be obtained by Red in the Pokémon Adventures manga.

History

Red first met Snor in the Red, Green & Blue arc, where he was blocking the Route 12, which was being used for a bike race. Red managed to wake Snor up with some Beedrill honey that had dripped onto Saur. After this Snor followed Red all the way to the goal of the race, where he was then caught by him.

During his journey through Kanto, Red used Snor in various battles, such as in his battle with Giovanni, where he battled against Giovanni's Nidoqueen and Golem, but was defeated by Golem's Explosion. During the Pokémon League, Snor was also used to battle against Blue's Machamp. Eventually Snor was able to land a combination of Double-Edge and Toxic on Machamp, making the Superpower Pokémon so weak that was forced to Blue recall him.

In the Gold, Silver & Crystal arc, Snor was used during the Gym Leader test for the Viridian Gym, where he easily defeated the Pokémon Association's Forretress and Azumarill. Later during the saga, Snor proved his amazing physical strength by stopping the Magnet Train that had broken out of control.

In the FireRed & LeafGreen arc, Snor was used by Red during the Battle Path, but he was defeated by Blue's Machamp's Low Kick. Later, he was used in a battle against Deoxys, but due to Deoxys changing into Defense Forme, his attacks had no effect on the DNA Pokémon. He was then nearly killed along with Red's other Pokémon while defending him from Deoxys's Psycho Boost.

In the Emerald arc, Snor was seen interacting with Emerald's Snorlax in the Battle Frontier following Guile Hideout's defeat. In the HeartGold & SoulSilver arc, it was revealed that the two Snorlax had produced an Egg, which Gold had agreed to hatch.
