Celebi (Japanese: セレビィ) is a Psychic/Grass legendary Pokémon having involved itself among several events in the Pokémon Adventures manga.

History

Gold, Silver & Crystal arc

Celebi was the object of the Masked Man's longing, and, the only Pokémon he could never manage to capture on his own. His dedication to acquire it for his plans (later revealed to have been for the sake of reuniting his Lapras with its deceased parents) was so strong that he would visit the shrine in the Ilex Forest to attempt to catch it, not being aware of the existence of the GS Ball's purpose or existence at the time. Six years prior to the events of the series, he was in one of the weakened periods where he lay comatose from the wounds he received, and this allowed Green and Silver to make their escape. 9 years later, he would finally complete the GS Ball using the Rainbow and Silver Wings he plucked from Ho-Oh and Lugia, and succeeds in capturing this very elusive legendary Pokémon. However, though his Lapras, Glacier, succeeded in traveling to the past to meet its parents, the GS Ball was destroyed by Pichu, and he ended up stuck in the voids of time, where Celebi sends past memories of the song his old chums had written for him when his two Lapras died.

Ruby & Sapphire arc

After the events, Celebi purposely joined Ruby's team before he moved to Hoenn, although he didn't even know what Pokémon it was. Celebi was kept in its Pokéball for most of his Journey, only to be used to end the battle with Archie and Maxie by having it take the Red and Blue Orbs from them and breaking them into pieces. Using its time travel powers, Celebi brings the people who had lost their lives in the battle back to life. With its duty fulfilled, Celebi sent Ruby away to be with his friends and left.

FireRed & LeafGreen arc

Celebi appeared in a flashback of Silver.

HeartGold & SoulSilver arc

This Celebi was the same one that Pryce originally sought after to reunite La Glace with its lost parents. After the events of the third chapter, Pryce waded around in the Crack in Time; only surviving due to Celebi's influence. After sensing the destruction Arceus would bring upon the Johto and Sinnoh regions, Celebi freed Pryce from his prison to help combat the threat.
