Uproar (Japanese: さわぐ Clamor) is a damage-dealing Normal-type move introduced in Generation III.
Effect
Generations III and IV
Uproar has a base power of 50 and deals damage for 2-5 turns. During this time, the user cannot use any other move. PP is deducted only on the turn Uproar is first called.
While Uproar is being used, the user is creating an uproar that prevents any Pokémon on the field from falling asleep from moves that can inflict sleep. On the first turn of Uproar only, any sleeping Pokémon on the field are woken up; if a sleeping Pokémon is switched into battle after Uproar's first turn, it will not be woken up.
During an uproar, the moves Rest and Yawn will fail if they are used. If a Pokémon is made drowsy by Yawn before an uproar starts, it can still fall asleep during the uproar as a result.
If Uproar fails against a Ghost-type Pokémon or a Pokémon with the Soundproof Ability, Uproar and its effect will immediately end.
In Double Battles, Uproar hits a random opponent.
Generation V onward
Uproar's base power changed from 50 to 90. Uproar now lasts exactly 3 turns.
The move Yawn will now succeed if used during an uproar. However, drowsiness can no longer cause a Pokémon to fall asleep during an uproar under any circumstance.
In Triple Battles, Uproar hits a random adjacent opponent.
