Trainer ID number: Difference between revisions

This Charmander's trainer's ID number is 57760.

A Pokémon trainer's ID number is a five-digit number that is assigned to a trainer when they begin their Pokémon journey. It is used, in conjunction with the trainer's name, to identify whether or not the Pokémon is an outsider Pokémon by the games.

Special ID numbers

Sometimes, there are special ID numbers assigned to Pokémon if they come from a non-standard Pokémon game or are received as a prize. Examples are below.

• 02000 - Used for Pokémon won through completion of the Gym Leader Castle in Pokémon Stadium, as well as several won in Pokémon Stadium 2.
• ????? - Used for Pokémon not yet hatched from their eggs. It will turn into the ID number of the trainer who hatches the Pokémon. It is also used for unpurified Shadow Pokémon. Once purified, the ID number will change to that of the trainer who snagged it.
• 30317 - Used for the shiny Zigzagoon given away with the berry program update obtained through retail GameCube Demo koisks in 2004. The OT (either RUBY or SAPHIRE) refer to the game which the Zigzagoon was uploaded into.
• 20043 - Used for Jirachi obtained from the Pokémon Colosseum Bonus Disc. The number refers to the year (2004) and the month (March, the 3rd Month) that Pokémon Colosseum was released in the United States. These Jirachi also have an Original Trainer named WISHMKR, referring to the title of the sixth movie.
• 02005 - Used for Metang distributed at Pokémon Rocks America 2005 for trying out the test demo of Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness. The number refers to the year it was given out, 2005.
• 00010 - Used for Pokémon obtained at the Journey Across America Event that celebrated the tenth anniversary of Pokémon. It is also used by the give-away Deoxys at the Houston Space Center on March 10 through 19 of 2006. These Deoxys also have an OT named SPACE C.
• 06930 - Used for Mew obtained at a Toys "R" Us event in September, 2006 throughout the United States. The number refers to the year (2006), the month (09), and the day the event took place (30). These Mew also have an OT named MYSTRY, referring to the title of the eighth movie.
• 20078 - Used for the Mew obtained at a Toys "R" Us event in August 2007 throughout the United Kingdom. The OT, Aura, also references the eighth movie.
• 00273 - Used for Pokémon obtained at New York City's Pokémon Center (now Nintendo World). These Pokémon were obtainable through a special machine on the Center's second floor. Players could insert their FireRed, LeafGreen, Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald cartridges into one of four GBA slots on the machine and receive a random Pokémon. Since there were several slots, each OT may be different; one example of an OT for one of these Pokémon is PCNYd - "Pokémon Center New York" and perhaps "slot d"; however, this has yet to be proven. It is also possible that the trainer IDs, then, were also different for each slot and its Pokémon.
• 07147 - Used for the Darkrai given away during the release of Dialga vs. Palkia vs. Darkrai. The ID number refers to the date of the event - July 14, 2007. The OT is named as えいがかん Eigakan.
• 09297 - Used for the Manaphy given away at Toys "R" Us on September 29, 2007. The ID number refers to the date of the event. These Manaphy also have an OT of TRU - the initials for Toys "R" Us.
• 11077 - Used for the Manaphy given away at JB Hi-Fi in Australia. The ID number refers to the date of the event. These Manaphy also have an OT of JBHF - the initials for JB Hi-Fi.
• 06257 - Used for the Pikachu, Electivire and Magmortar unlocked from Pokémon Battle Revolution. The OT is name PKTOPIA. The ID number refers to the date Pokémon Battle Revolution was released (6/25/07).(European Codes)
• 05318 - Used for the Darkrai given away at Toys "R" Us on May 31, 2008 and June 1, 2008. The ID number refers to the date of the event. These Darkrai also have an OT of ALAMOS - The the name of the town in which The Rise of Darkrai takes place

Secret ID

In the games, there is a second, secret ID number, different than the visible one. This number exists purely to make sure that even if two Trainers share the exact same name and the exact same Trainer ID number, the game will still recognize their Pokémon as coming from different trainers. Usually, this number cannot be viewed, however, certain cheats can be used to view it, many using Pokesav and Action Replay. It also comes into play along with the normal ID number and the personality value in determining a if a Pokémon's shiny. If two different trainers have trainer name, identical ID numbers and identical hidden ID numbers, they will be able to change the nickname of each other's pokémon if traded.
