Tomoko Kawakami (Japanese: 川上とも子 Kawakami Tomoko, real name in kanji 川上倫子, born April 25, 1970 - June 9, 2011) was a Japanese seiyū for the Pokémon anime.
On August 19, 2008, she underwent surgery after admitting herself to a hospital with an unknown illness. As a result she was given an 20 month sick leave. Satsuki Yukino served as her understudy during that time. She died from ovarian cancer in June 2011.[1]
