Together is the first opening song of the Diamond & Pearl series. A remixed version of the song, Together2007, was used as the opening song in Dialga VS Palkia VS Darkrai. A remixed version of the song, Together2008, debuted in DP079 and was replaced by High Touch! in DP096.

Synopsis

A new day dawns. Ash and Pikachu are on the top of a hill. The camera lowers and the Pokémon D/P logo appears.

Ash, Pikachu, Brock and Dawn are on the top of a tree while flying Pokémon, like Altaria, Fearow and Murkrow, along with non-Flying types like Misdreavus are flying in the background. A Chatot flies near the camera.

On a tree's branches, three Cherrim, a Kricketot, a Pachirisu, a Burmy and a Budew are dancing with happy faces.

Ash and his friends are chasing a Glameow in a city. The Glameow runs towards an alley.

Then, they are crossing a Bibarel's dam and exploring a dark cave, where they find a Drapion.

Images of Ash, Dawn and Brock with their Pokémon appear. Then, an image featuring Professor Oak, Tracey, Delia and Mimey appears, followed quickly by images of Johanna, Professor Rowan, Nurse Joy, Officer Jenny and a Super Contest.

Then, with a picture of Paul with a serious face as a background, Ash sends out Turtwig, Staravia, Pikachu and Buizel, showing their moves Razor Leaf, Wing Attack, Volt Tackle, and Aqua Jet, respectively.

Ash and Paul are fiercely looking at each other, standing with their Pokémon. Dawn sends out Piplup and Buneary, from two Poké Balls inside of capsules. Dawn and Zoey appear, and then Team Rocket does, smiling, with their Pokémon.

Ash and his friends are riding jet skis while Mantyke and Buizel jump over them and Manaphy appears.

Meanwhile, Palkia and Dialga are roaring, although they are in distant places; while Lucario is looking at them.

Ash, Pikachu, and Brock are sitting on a giant Poké Ball, and Dawn is sitting in front of it. They all smile.

Trivia

• DP004 was the first episode to feature this opening, though DP002 and DP003 feature it on DVD releases.
• This opening uses lots of Pokémon terminology in its lyrics such as the moves Aqua Jet, Defog, and Rock Climb.
• All moves named in the song are new moves in Generation IV, two among them HMs.
• "Spicy? Bitter? Dry? Sour?" refers to Poffin flavors.
• This is the first opening to use a new mix for the same animation sequence, barring any changes to the sequence.
• Together's animation, barring the minor alterations made for the change in the characters' teams, was used consistently across 95 episodes of the Pokémon anime, more than any other opening, surpassing the record of Aim to Be a Pokémon Master, whose original version was used in 80 episodes, and the Whiteberry cover in 47 episodes. However, due to the change in accompanying song from Together to Together2008, Aim to Be a Pokémon Master and its remix still top the combined total that both variations of Together have as the opening song.
