Debut Showdown at the Po-ké Corral

Team Rocket HQ is the center of Team Rocket's operations. It is located in Kanto, and is where Giovanni and his secretary reside.

Originally, it was located in an area populated with trees, apparently within close proximity to Pallet Town, and was where Mewtwo was kept. However, in Showdown at the Po-ké Corral, Mewtwo escaped to New Island, destroying the building. The Team Rocket trio witnessed this event, ironically when they themselves were about to quit Team Rocket because they couldn't face their boss due to failing to catch Pokémon. It made a brief appearance in the intro of Mewtwo Strikes Back, where Mewtwo's escape was recalled.

The HQ was then rebuilt in the middle of a rocky terrain and is hard to locate. In The Scheme Team, Jessie, James and Meowth are assigned there. It also appeared in The Thief That Keeps on Thieving!, when Jessie sent the Yanma she caught to Giovanni as a gift, only for him to send it back due to having recently received a large supply of them.

The HQ appeared in In The Shadow of Zekrom!, where Jessie, James and Meowth were assigned their mission in Unova. The building was shown with a new look. In Enter Iris and Axew!, it was revealed that Jessie and James had left their Pokémon behind at the headquarters. It also appeared in The Dream Continues!, where Jessie and James gave Giovanni their Unova Pokémon and rejoined with Jessie's Wobbuffet.

Design

The Team Rocket HQ had various design variances, depending on the series.

During the events of the Indigo League, the old Team Rocket HQ prior to its destruction possessed at least two wings with blue, domed roofs, as well as a central tower with four turrets and red coned roofs on top of each turret, as well as a satellite array. There were only two rooms seen within this base: One was what was presumably a reception area due to how it was used in it's appearance in It's Mr. Mimie [sic] Time!, which had a very lavish design, including red carpets and gold walls, as well as fancy paintings and a lowerable TV monitor for Giovanni to use to communicate with his underlings when he himself is too busy to meet them in person. The other room was more technological based, containing various computer consoles and also had a balcony up above. This room was used to hold Mewtwo when he was not on assignment for Team Rocket.

The new Team Rocket HQ was only briefly seen in The Scheme Team via its entrance. It possessed at least four doors at the front entrance, and also had a two-barred gate with the Team Rocket symbol prominently displayed. It was later given a full view in the DP series, where it was shown as a lavender complex, with two wings, one on each side, with two towers on each end, and one of the towers possessing a domed roof. The central building was a building of seven stories in height, with the Team Rocket prominently displayed at the top, and also had at least two flat trapezoid edges jutting out, with the angled portions containing square bumps. There was also a set of communications arrays, including two communications satellites and an antenna, on top. Giovanni's office was presumably at the top floor, and was a massive room with the double doors being adorned with the Team Rocket logo, as well as a red carpet, a potted fern plant, a purple office desk, a pencil holder, a lamp, a laptop capable of scanning the contents of a Pokémon to identify the Pokémon inside, and a row of windows with blinders on them.

In the Best Wishes and XY series, the Team Rocket HQ was a towering complex, being at least nine stories tall, and having two shield-like protrusions on the corners, as well as a series of antennas on top. There was also a domed building in close proximity. Parts of the HQ may have also been built into the rocky terrain, as some of the mountains were shown to have windows similar to that of the main building.
