Probopass

In case anybody's wondering, Probopass had full health when I KO'ed it. If it had Sturdy it would have survived the hit and therefore I wouldn't have edited the main article. --The Truth aka Relicant 17:54, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

First turn, Earth Power, level 100 Flygon. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 18:29, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
Just a quick thought, but it could depend on what version of the game it is. That or Probopass had some sort of prior damage. --Super goku (talk) 18:34, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
Probopass had been Full Restored before my Tyrantrum attacked, so having prior damage would be impossible. --The Truth aka Relicant 18:36, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
I've learned from experience that Sturdy no longer works when the Pokémon's damaged, so I don't see it not having Sturdy. Pokedex493 (talk) 18:58, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
It's Sturdy in Y too. What attack did your Tyrantrum use? Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 19:01, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
I already said: Earthquake. Are we sure the Ability isn't randomized? --The Truth aka Relicant 19:04, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
I went over the discussion and saw no mention of the move so I asked. Anyway, yes, I am positive it's not random and Probopass had some damage already done to it somehow. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 19:09, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
How does one place prior damage on a Pokémon that is fully healed right before being one-hit KOed? Also since I have a feeling someone's going to ask this: No, I did not swap Probopass' Ability. --The Truth aka Relicant 19:12, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
Anybody figured out this mystery yet? I'm still confused. --The Truth aka Relicant 16:58, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
Is it possible that Sturdy has changed so that recovery items that take a Pokemon back up to full do not allow Sturdy to activate again? (In other words, is it possible that now Sturdy only activates if the first hit a Pokemon takes would KO it?) Can someone do some research on this? Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 17:31, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
Tested this with Mega Mewtwo X. Sturdy still activates even if the Pokémon has been healed back to full health. The mystery continues... --The Truth aka Relicant 09:52, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

Anybody solved it yet? --The Truth aka Relicant 00:16, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

My two cents: Every time I fight Wikstrom's Probopass, he Full Restores it three times because of Sturdy, each time. The only way to avoid it is to give it minimal damage first. Because the cited Pokemon that attacked it is Tyrantrum, perhaps the original poster had laid out Stealth Rock on a prior Pokemon before Probopass came out. --The Great Butler (talk) 23:11, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
How could there be damage if Wikstrom Full Restored just before I killed Probopass? --The Truth aka Relicant 07:40, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
Can we dismiss this as a glitch, or is it the info insufficient? --The Truth aka Relicant 19:58, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
I think something happened you simply missed. Not a glitch, its ability is not up for debate, you simply made a minor mistake. It happens to everyone. Move on. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 20:30, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

Question

Does Wikstrom even speak English? Because I'm pretty sure "mayhap" isn't a word. --The Truth aka Relicant 22:22, 4 November 2013 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure you didn't even bother to google it. It's basically an archaic version of "maybe", so it's perfectly fitting for him to use.--Den Zen 22:46, 4 November 2013 (UTC)

Question 2

Is his Japanese name Gampi or Ganpi? I'll stop adding things to the talk page now. --The Truth aka Relicant 23:11, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

ん and ン are pronounced "m" before "p", so I'd hypothesize it's "Gampi" (though I don't speak Japanese myself). Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 23:15, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

Coincidence?

"My will, which even shakes spears, trembles at so fine a battle as this!"

Either I'm overthinking, or this was an intended reference to William Shakespeare. --The Truth aka Relicant 12:36, 29 November 2013 (UTC)

Nobody's responded within over 2 hours. I'm calling intentional. --The Truth aka Relicant 15:34, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
It really doesn't seem like an intentional reference to me. --It's Funktastic~!話してください 15:42, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
In my opinion it's anything but unintentional. --The Truth aka Relicant 15:49, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
Is this notable enough for a trivia point? --The Truth aka Relicant 18:06, 29 November 2013 (UTC)

I'm assuming it is. --The Truth aka Relicant 20:34, 29 November 2013 (UTC)

Just because nobody responds doesn't mean you're right. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 20:52, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
It's pretty conclusive, given that Wikstrom speaks in a sort of prose, but there's still nothing else to confirm or deny it. -- Pringles 21:03, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
