Can somebody figure out what went wrong? I changed the dimensions of some of the sprites to what they should be and they are shrunk now. I tried refreshing but thats not fixing it. Are the dimensions set somewhere on the page? --[[User:Blake|Blake]] 16:20, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

001Bulbasaur RG.png Due to special coding in place in the article, the artwork featured on this article will change every year on February 27 and September 30 in celebration of the releases of Red and Green in Japan, and Red and Blue in the United States. This will only affect the artwork shown in the infobox. This changes every year, so when the time comes, here to return to the page and change the display.

Sprites

Can somebody figure out what went wrong? I changed the dimensions of some of the sprites to what they should be and they are shrunk now. I tried refreshing but thats not fixing it. Are the dimensions set somewhere on the page? --Blake 16:20, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

NEVERMIND. I looked at them again and they were fixed. Weird. --Blake 16:21, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Strange...

There's no information in here about how Voltorb's were used in a plot to power some type of Device which could only be shut down by making the Voltorb's faint. --Arima 06:37, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Electrode... Not Voltorb. --ケンジガール 06:48, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
Oh... oops. --Arima 06:08, 12 December 2009 (UTC)

Mimics

Normally, there are monsters in RPGs that imitate treasure chests, usually powerful in order to act as punishment to greedy travelers (read: the game designers are jerks). Treasure chests in this series are item balls, which Voltorb and Electrode can be confused for, and the two can prove troublesome due to their capacity to paralyze and injure, potentially fainting, a trainer's Pokémon by exploding. With this in mind, is it possible that Voltorb and its evolution are the Pokémon series' equivalent to mimics seen in other RPGs? Somethin' to mull over, yo. --PantheonSasuke 03:48, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

VOLTORB ORIGIN

Hi, I just wanted to point out that Voltorb (and Electrode too) origin may be due to that red-and-white plastic balls that are attached to high-voltage power lines, with the intention to make them visible from elicopters & similar. In fact, some pokedex entries says that they're used to travel using power lines...

Here is some pictures of them:

Sometimes I see them and I think about Voltorbs :)

Multiplying

In The Underground Round Up, it is implied that Voltorb can multiply to raise their numbers, but in what section would this be ideal? Trivia? Special Abilities? Behaviour? etc. XVuvuzela2010X 11:26, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

Easily mistaken for a Poké Ball...

This is all speculation, but I think I know why he's "easily mistaken for a Poké Ball" despite being much larger than one. I think that there was an error in the Pokédex entry and that it should have said "easily mistaken for an item ball" (yes, I know that that entry was a direct translation from the Japanese... but maybe the error was in the Japanese entry). Think about it this way... in the games the size of an item ball is never stated (and it was never drawn to scale), but these item balls always contain small objects like potions and escape ropes, etc., right? Assuming that they don't work the same way as Poké Balls (how they're smaller than whatever is inside of them) and are more like real-world containers that hold items... wouldn't it make sense for an item ball to be about the size of a Voltorb? And in addition to that, in the game the player encounters Voltorb when pressing A on what he thinks is an item, not necessarily a Poké Ball. Dannyjenn 04:53, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
