Metal Coat

Metal Coat, Found: "Iron Island, found on some wild Bronzor, Bronzong, Steelix, Magnemite and Beldum (D/P)"

Does that means that it is found only on some wild Steelix wich appears in Iron Island or in any wild Steelix? -Jimbo-

From what I can tell, it means that there is one findable on Iron Island, and more can be stolen from a wild Bronzor, Bronzong, Steelix, Magnemite, or Beldum. Besides, out of the five Pokémon Metal Coats can be attached to in the wild, Steelix is the only one that even appears on Iron Island, which meant if attached Metal Coats were limited to Iron Island, only Steelix could hold them...--Shiningpikablu252 21:26, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

Black Belt

Had five rematches with Black Belt Nob and have not received the Black Belt. >_> Vitrier491MS.png 1831, 15 May 2007 (AEST)

You have to use Thief on his Pokémon in order to get it. Same goes for the Silver Powder from Brandon and the Dragon Fang from Nicolas. Diachronos 16:13, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

Platinum orb

what happens if we try to trade the platinum orb to diamond/pearl? Lord of Origami 16:50, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Platinum Orb

What happens if Giratina is holding the orb and is traded to D/P? hfc2X 04:58, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

The item will go back in the platinum bag MathijsP 07:33, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

So what happens if you trade it to another Platinum/HeartGold/SoulSilver? Same thing? MagicBarrier 04:22, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Check the dates before you reply. Anyway, to answer your question, it goes back to your bag even if you are connecting with Platinmun/HeartGold/SoulSilver, thus the only way to get a Griseous Orb in HGSS is through the Sinjoh Ruins event. --SnorlaxMonster 07:55, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Well, excuse me, princess. I saw the date, but I didn't realize I needed to make a new section for a similar question. Try thinking before you act like a jerk. MagicBarrier 20:01, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
I tried to tell you nicely that you replied to an old section. All I said was "Check the dates before you reply" which doesn't seem very jerkish to me. Plus those sorts of questions usually belong on the forums. The article already said that it cannot be traded. --SnorlaxMonster 00:19, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

TwistedSpoon

Is it worth noting that to get the TwistedSpoon in G/S/C the Kadabra has to be caught wild and not evolved from Abra? Zesty Cactus 20:17, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

Hey!

The Pink Bow also appears in Mystery Dungeon Time/Darkness/Sky with the effect, "Raises Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk., and Sp. Def. by 1. Will not disappear after a failed expedition.". Didn't you know that? magikarp123193 22:15, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

SilverPowder

Umm when I caught a wild Masquerain it was holding a SilverPowder (in Pokémon Platinum).Idiot 13:04, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

B/W ?

So are these items not in Black and White, or have they not been found yet and thus are not on the page ? Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 19:11, 30 December 2010 (UTC)

They're in it, but the locations just haven't been added to the page. Metal Coat is definitely there. --SnorlaxMonster 10:21, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

Curse is ???-type... Will the Spell Tag increase its power?

After GEN5's decision, Curse was changed to Ghost-type. But... Will the Spell Tag have any effect on it? Seeing that there is no ???-type Plate, will the Spooky Plate work on it? Someone might know.

Djdeedahx2011 13:24, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

Curse doesn't get affected by items at all. It's Funktastic~! 14:34, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
To be more specific, Curse doesn't directly cause damage, so isn't affected by these items. --SnorlaxMonster 14:44, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
These items will only work if the holder is using a direct-damage offensive move of the type that is boosted by the item. Consequently, a Charcoal-holding Emboar will get a boost when it uses Flare Blitz, but a NeverMeltIce-holding Mamoswine will not enjoy 20% more damage inflicted onto its opponent by Hail. Haxorus 14:32, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

"As of Generation IV, these items boost..."

I've read reports that it's actually as of Platinum that they gave a 20% boost, rather than the whole span of the generation from Diamond to SoulSilver. This boost includes the Arceus Plates too. Can anyone re-confirm this? Because to leave that sentence as it is would be somewhat inaccurate... Haxorus 14:28, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

I've never seen any reports of this. Also, the article mentioned the 10%->20% change well before Platinum's announcement. --SnorlaxMonster 01:46, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
Hmm, it's okay then. Thanks for your help! Haxorus 01:50, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Weak Trivia

  • In Generation II, there was one item that would power up each type, with the exception of the Normal type, which had both the Pink Bow and Polkadot Bow. In Generation IV, this is reversed, where each type powered up by one of the items as well as by a Plate, except the Normal type.
    • However, some types have even more than this, due to incenses.
    • In Generation V, Gems were added as well, this time including a Normal variety with the other types. Gems, unlike other type-enhancing items, increase damage by 50%, but are consumed after use.

I think this whole thing should be removed. There are too many exceptions, the incenses make the Gen II/IV comparison completely pointless, and the Gen V bullet really has little to do with it. --IWannaBeTheVeryBest 00:49, 13 November 2013 (UTC)

I would suggest cutting the subpoints and adjust the text of the first point from "[...]where each type powered up by one of the items as well as[...]" to "[...]where each type was powered up by at least one item as well as by a Plate, except the Normal type." That should cut on the unneeded trivia and improve the section. --Super goku (talk) 01:23, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
I'm okay with that, but worded as: In Generation II, there was one item for powering up each type, with the exception of Normal, which had both the Pink Bow and Polkadot Bow. This is reversed in Generation IV, in that every type but Normal could be powered up by a Plate and at least one other item. --IWannaBeTheVeryBest 07:59, 13 November 2013 (UTC)

Stealing a Metal Coat?

So I have just spent the past 2-3 hours trying to steal a Metal Coat from Magnemite in New Mauville in Ruby. I have yet to get one, which leads me to ask, can the item be stolen from Pokémon with Magnet Pull? Lnwz (talk) 19:25, 10 May 2014 (UTC)
