Like I said, I don't feel like getting in an edit war over something like this, so here I am, discussing it on the talk page like a Bulbapedian should when there's a conflict. Now, the sprites are good for nothing but decorative purposes, added for no apparent reason other than the one I just stated, yet I can't remove them without having my edits reverted (again, for no apparent reason). Personally, I think they should go; if people are so interested in seeing the Pokémon they can catch, they can click on the links. However, if I am overruled and the sprites stay, rather than being inconsitent with every other article I visit, sprites should be added to those as well (though I don't see why we should have to do this in the first place). // <span style="color:#00A550">Szayel</span><span style="color:#C0C0C0">Aporro</span><span style="color:#FF69B4">Granz</span> 21:56, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Porygon rarity...?
Does anyone think that Porygon may have less of a chance of appearing through Mr. Backlot than other Pokémon? I'm certainly getting suspicious. I've resetted and talked to the guy over 100 times, and Porygon wasn't mentioned even once! And nobody say it's because Porygon was already in the garden-- that was Chansey. *Another common trick is to put a level 18 Pokémon (one that has not yet gained any experience, or the trick fails) in the first slot of the party and use a Repel, though this returns only Pikachu and the daily Pokémon, like Chansey. == Frequency of Backlot Pokemon ==
It seems to me that (depending on the game), Backlot seems to 'favor' certain pokemon over others.  Case in point, over the last 30 days I've gone to him once a day, everyday, in my Diamond game, and he's mentioned Porygon 4 times, but hasn't given me a single Bonsly.  Even before that, I went to him every so often (At least 60 times sporadically) and didn't get a single Bonsly.  It seems to me that Backlot's choice is decided in a way similar to which pokemon you run into during a random encounter in tall grass. TCABF 20:49, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
:Yes, that's right. It's absolutely random. He doesn't cycle through them all before he repeats himself. While it also seems likely that there is a degree of rarity involved, I haven't seen any published evidence of this, just a few fan theorems on forums and whatnot. &mdash; <small><font color="#0000C8">THE TROM</font></small> &mdash; 21:12, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
::Hmm, in that case, I might do a study sometime, talking to him a certain number of times (Save and restart each time) and recording the data to see if I can figure out the rarities.  Should 300 times be enough for good data, or should I go for 500? TCABF 21:47, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Getting the Pokemon marked with *?

I haven't accually played DP before, so I wouldn't know that much about it, but it seems rather odd that Pokemon in the article that are marked with * are "Found before getting the National Dex". Does this mean that those Pokemon are ONLY available before getting the National Dex, or does it just mean that those can be caught before getting the National Dex, and will still be available there after you get the National Dex? Someone might need to clear that up a bit.

Yes, that's what it means. They're available before the National Dex, but will still show up to annoy you after you get it too. --DarkfireTaimatsu 19:14, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Level problems...

In Platinum, they can be level 22. I might have even encountered level 23.Nintendofan146B 20:25, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Yes, the levels changed within games and no one's fixed the page yet. Feel free to update. — THE TROM — 20:49, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Frequency of Backlot Pokemon

Yes, that's right. It's absolutely random. He doesn't cycle through them all before he repeats himself. While it also seems likely that there is a degree of rarity involved, I haven't seen any published evidence of this, just a few fan theorems on forums and whatnot. — THE TROM — 21:12, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Hmm, in that case, I might do a study sometime, talking to him a certain number of times (Save and restart each time) and recording the data to see if I can figure out the rarities. Should 300 times be enough for good data, or should I go for 500? TCABF 21:47, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
500's a nice number... — THE TROM — 02:14, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Backlot?

Backlot? Where is that? I want a Cleffa. Ugoz 15:04, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Well, Backlot is the name of the owner of the mansion and garden. It is actually located sout of Hearthome City in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum. You can also get to it by going to the bottom left path at Pastoria City and following that. Solar Dragon 15:08, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
I forgot that was his name. I'm so stupid Ugoz 18:48, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Castform

I've caught Casstform in platinum without needed to speak to Mr.Blacklot.--Grungle7 10:14, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

2 special pokemon?

Once I was told by Backlot, that plusle was in the garden and I found plusle, the regular pokemon, and clefairy! Same thing with castform! Isn't clefairy a special pokemon? PS:I am playing Platinum--Minimag 07:15, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

You find the previous day's Pokémon too. So you have 48 hours to catch each one. —darklordtrom 07:16, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

Image

Can someone upload an image up here? It looks VERY empty... ht14 02:34, 26 September 2009 (UTC)

By image, I mean the image of the garden... ht14 02:34, 26 September 2009 (UTC)

Tell me I'm I'm imagining this...

Do the levels of the Pokémon increase after getting the Ndex? I caught a Ditto at Lv 23 and a something I don't remember at Lv 22... Oh, and... nothing.

Ditto

Something doesn't look right about Ditto's levels section... ~Enervation 22:13, 15 December 2011 (UTC)

Ditto

This page says that Ditto can be caught at level 16, 18 or 22, while it can only be caught at 22 in Platinum. However, Ditto itself can only be caught here in Platinum. Tk3141 02:55, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
