Takes Place

"Canonically, these episodes go either directly before or directly after Pikachu's Goodbye." I'd say they go before Pikachu's Goodbye, because at the very start of Pikachu's Goodbye there is a shot of a snow-capped mountain in the background (suggesting they've just come from there) that looks very similar to the mountain featured in this episode.--Bardock 00:24, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Episode?

According to Serebii's Episode guide (http://www.serebii.net/anime/epiguide/) this should be EP066 and the 66th episode of the Pokémon anime. I am truly confused why this isn't considered an anime episode, hence it is part of the anime. Along with this episode, Holiday Hi-Jynx should be EP065 and the 65th episode of the Pokémon anime. These are between both, It's Mr. Mime Time and Showdown at the Po-ké Corral. - unsigned comment from MasterKenobi (talkcontribs)

That's because it was supposed to be EP039/40 before it got moved to EP065/66. I think you know why.--ForceFire 02:57, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
It was never meant to be in that order. It aired as a special. 4Kids continued with it and managed to screw up instead of putting it in order because they're morons. Or they don't pay attention to what they dub. Probably both. And by that I do mean the executives. You know, the same ones who ordered donuts from a Japanese shop. Prev-Next Episode

What does everyone think of changing the Prev-Next episode box at the top of this page to conform to a new order that would go: EP038 Holiday Hi-Jynx EP40 (unaired) Snow Way Out! EP039 ? This order would make these episodes a lot easier to comprehend to people visiting the articles. --LimeGreenCharizard-- 11:20, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

Errors

In the scene where pikachu was with ash to keep warm, ash's eyes are red.

???

How come we don't count these two as episodes, but count EP052 and EP053 as episodes? Those are both also considered special episodes in Japan, too. - unsigned comment from JacobTheDoduo (talkcontribs)

Dub Edits (candles)

I just looked at this scene, and it seems there's only one shot painted over a match with a candle. It's held by Meowth when he says "And this candle is our last bit of heat." Are there different versions of the episode, like with they zoomed in on Meowth's face to hide the lighter in EP046? TeridaxXD001 (talk) 05:32, 19 October 2015 (UTC)

Intended Release Date

Is there any evidence this episode even existed before Porygon? A magazine snippet on Dogasu's Backpack (https://dogasu.bulbagarden.net/comparisons/kanto/ep052_out_of_order.html) suggests, at the very least, "Snow Way Out" was not intended to air between "Holiday Hi-Jynx" and EP040. I'm starting to think this is another "Pikachu's Goodbye" situation, where the episode was fully written and nearly produced during the four-month hiatus, but unlike "Pikachu's Goodbye," this episode was too visually intense to air right away (white snow flashing across the screen and all,) so it needed to be held back for a while. It's just a theory, but it would explain why this episode's writer (Shōji Yonemura) doesn't return for another 30 episodes, similar to EP039's writer (Shinzō Fujita.) Suppose both episodes were written after, say, EP064? LeafStorm10 (talk) 21:16, 17 June 2022 (UTC)
