This family no longer gets Shadow Tag as of Gen VI. I tried changing it, but I couldn't work out how to format it with a comment to say "Generation V only". Can someone else change it?

Double Battles

Does Shadow Tag effect your teammate in Doubles?--Purimpopoie 04:50, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Nope. Article updated accordingly. — THE TROM — 10:51, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
What about Triple Battles? --Enervation 21:34, 7 August 2011 (UTC)

"Even if the user switches out, Shadow Tag will remain in effect. "?

I won't change this right off, but I'm fairly sure this is untrue, at least in Generation IV... I brought a Wobbuffet over to Platinum in hopes of catching Mesprit easily, and twice it ran as soon as Wobbuffet was switched out. Maybe the ability only has this effect in Generation III? - C.Olimar788 01:19, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

It's not. I think they meant the other way around. Let's say in a Trainer battle, Mesprit faints and another Pokémon is sent out. That Pokémon is still under the effect of Shadow Tag. ht14 03:25, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Shadow Tag vs Shadow Tag

The article doesn't mention it, but what happens when two pokemons with shadow tag ability face? I think they are able to switch, but that is not explained here --D.hgss 22:59, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

If I recall correctly, in Gen III both pokes would be incapable of switching (making it impossible for anyone to win), and in Gen IV, they fixed it by making two Shadow Tags cancel out each other.--Cold (talk) 23:11, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
shouldn't that be added to the article? --D.hgss 23:25, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
It's in the in battle section--Cold (talk) 23:35, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

Escape

Do escape items and the held item Smoke Ball allow you to run away if you're facing a wild Pokémon with Shadow Tag (or if the opponent uses Mean Look, Block, or Spider Web)? --Enervation 22:04, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
