I'm reasonably sure "Haydaim" comes from Haydn + daim, not the English word "hay". I have no source, though; it just makes more sense. Plus I guess Poképédia lists the etymology as Haydn. Zhorken 20:10, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

Horns versus antlers
According to the Pokédex, it has horns, not antlers. As such, I changed this in the Biology section. However, antlers seem much more accurate. The policy is to trust the all-mighty Pokédex, though, right? If not, please revert my edit. --Wynd Fox 04:12, 29 October 2013 (UTC)

586A.png Due to special coding in place in the article to illustrate Sawsbuck's forms, certain displays will change showing Sawsbuck as though it were autumn, therefore being in its autumn form. This will only affect the artwork shown in the infobox and the evobox which is unhidden. This changes every month, so when the time comes, click here to return to the page and change the display.

Size

Wow, this must be a very tiny deer. I don't think the information about it's weight and size are accurate....--MeDeoPal 21:03, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

good call. fixed. -- MAGNEDETH 21:07, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Name Origin

Its name is likely a combination of 芽吹き mebuki, to bud, and 鹿 shika, deer. - unsigned comment from KurowaSan (talkcontribs)

Form Changing

Does anyone know if Mebukijika changes formes like it's Pre-Evolution Shikijika?--Si6x12 01:49, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

Yes. PhantomJunkie 02:15, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

You can see the formes here Vienna Waltz 11:11, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

Wait, are we certain it changes form, or could it be a case like Wormadam, in which its form is locked in once it evolves? --AndyPKMN 15:53, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
Likely not locked, since unlike Wormadam, you'd potentially have to wait a third of the year to get the form you want. Plus, they're all Normal/Grass. TTEchidna 16:07, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
In-game seasons are only a month long, TTE.—Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 05:37, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
Thus, if you wanted a Spring one now, you'd have to wait a third of the year for the seasons to cycle around again to Spring. Bluesun 00:20, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
When someone creates the sprites table, we should put them there. Oh and by the way does the shiny sprite change in the season changing? - unsigned comment from DragonZekrom (talkcontribs)

Official art?

Why don't you use the official sugimori artwork instead of the Dream World artwork? http://archives.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:586Mebukijika-Spring.png --Mattii 23:48, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

Because only one forme has official art while the dream world artwork has all the formes. - 050294 00:02, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

Official Name?

Are we sure that sawsbuck is the official name?Karnik555 03:12, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

Yes we're sure.......Ataro 03:13, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

Box Sprites

I just noticed that two of the forms' sprites just under the Sprites table are messed up. LimeGreenCharizard 15:48, 14 August 2011 (UTC)

French name origin

I'm reasonably sure "Haydaim" comes from Haydn + daim, not the English word "hay". I have no source, though; it just makes more sense. Plus I guess Poképédia lists the etymology as Haydn. Zhorken 20:10, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

To elaborate: Vivaldaim (Deerling) was almost definitely named after Antonio Vivaldi, composer of The Four Seasons. Similarly, Franz Joseph Haydn composed an oratorio titled The Seasons. - Zhorken 20:14, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
