Origin?

To me sandslash kind of resembles a enchidna? -- GoldHusky2009 11:55, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

El Chupacabras

Sandshrew may be inspired in part by El Chupacabras. For one thing, the both have spikes going down their backs, the both stand on two legs, Chupacabra is 3-4 feet and Sandslash is 3'03, and they're both usually found in hot, sometimes sandy, areas. Pawsrent 23:53, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

Highly unlikely. It doesn't scream "chupacabra" when most people look at it. Most people think of a hedgehog or echidna, and it doesn't even look the slightest bit like descriptions. They're said to look almost lizard-like, so Crocanaw would be a better fit than Sandslash because of that. Personally, I would never have even thought of a chupacabra when looking at Sandslash. R.A.
