Ability

Physiology for the admins to implement

Meguroko is a primarily tan-colored, quadruped crocodilian Pokémon, having a long snout as typical of crocodilians, and a thick black stripe on the bridge. Meguroko’s eyes are round and sepia-colored, with a circular pattern of black around them stretching between each eye, giving the impression of an archetypical robber’s mask or a pair of glasses, with the ridges surrounding the eyes being large and protruding. Two thick black stripes are present down Meguroko’s back, stretching to its pink-colored underside and encompassing its tan-colored limbs, which sport three claws each that are also black; additionally, its tapered tail is tipped with the color. Origin

I'd like to point out this species as a partial design influence, particularly the "eyeglasses". Also, the word for spectacles (megane) is a more likely name origin than "eye".--Kaoz 01:27, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Taking into account the glasses design and the word "megane" the name is most likely a pun off of "meganekko" or glasses girls. 目黒子 (meguroko: Black-eyed child) with 目 (me) meaning eyes, 黒 (kuro) meaning black, and 子 (ko) meaning child.--Psychogurl 00:12, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

When it comes to crocodilian species, Sandile could be likely a Nile Crocodile because of it's stripes and it use to be found in the Nile River in Egypt.Bennell 13:58, 26 March 2012 (UTC)

Unique typing?

The only known Dark/Ground Pokémon. But keep in mind that Black and White might introduce other Dark/Ground Pokémon. I think we should probably leave it out since if it turns out there are more we'd have wasted time. Absolution 09:27, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Well, Reshiram and Zekrom themselves were revealed earlier, but their typing was not, so Meguroko was the first Gen V Pokémon known to have a unique typing (assuming that all these guys have unique typings that it). Jas61292 03:56, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

Trivia

So, I've been thinking about this for a while and considering whether or not it was actual trivia, so I figure that I should just ask. The moves naturally learned match the striping on Sandile. Trivia? Yes I know it's not consistent and it's not really that important. Rucario64 20:50, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

They moves just alternate between Ground and Dark for a short while. If it did so for its entire learnset, it would be notable, but really the only reason you see this is because of the way Bulbapedia sets out its templates. --SnorlaxMonster 09:10, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
