The prerequisites listed for getting HGSS Gym Leaders' phone numbers aren't entirely correct; both Sabrina's number and Janine's number can be obtained before getting all 16 badges.  The Pokégear page also says that Erika's number can be obtained before defeating Blue, but my experience seems to suggest otherwise.  I'd correct this page, but I'm not sure what the best way to do it is.  --Minimiscience 15:13, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

Shouldn't Ash's battle with Chili in BW058 go in the Anime section? If so, then the fact about him rematching only one Gym leader he had already beaten that was outside his circle of friends should be removed. Since certain trainers on certain routes in will re-challege the player in a rematch just be returning to that route I think adding a template will definitely by helpful. == Ash and Gym Leaders ==
Okay, I might be wrong on some [or most] of these battles, but I need to put them out there. In Ash's first gym battle with Brock, didn't Brock say to stop the match? Wouldn't that count as a forfeit? Then in Ash's match with Sabrina, doesn't Pikachu get knocked out before Ash could announce his forfeit? Lastly [in Kanto], didn't Squirtle and Pikachu both faint against Magmar? We now travel to Sinnoh. Didn't Ash use 3 Pokémon against Gardenia in their first match, while she only used Turtwig? Also, didn't Fantina use Mismagius, Gengar and Drifloon [before Drifloon evolved] against Pikachu, Buizel and Chimchar in their first match? We now head to Unova. Didn't Ash also lose to Cheren, despite the fact that he [Ash] wasn't facing him [Cheren] for a Basic Badge? Lastly, in Kalos, didn't Ash lose to Grant, too? Please clear this up! Many thanks. :I'll answer what I am familiar with here off the top of my head (I can check episodes for others later perhaps).
:*I would consider Ash's first battle against Brock as a forfeit.  The rematch occurred in the same episode.  I'm sure there's a reason for whatever is there.
:*Yes, Ash did lose one of the matches against the Striaton leaders.  This was before Cilan joined Ash and Iris on their travels.  It was, however, a best of three, so did not count as an official loss.
:*Grant did not obtain a victory over Ash.  Ash won on the first attempt at the Gym.
:The rest I can check later as I might need episode research to confirm some of them, so easier to check in one swing.  CycloneGU (talk) 21:56, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
::Well, not to sound rude, but, I knew that Ash lost against Cress. I didn't say anything about that because like you're saying, it was a best of three and Ash defeated both Chili and Cilan. Thank you for clarifying the case with Brock, though. :::No need to start something with "Not to sound rude", as I wasn't going to suggest it at all; it's actually not a saying I like as someone might then take the following comment rudely.
:::I'll see if I can verify anything else this evening, but I'm working on a couple of pages right now, so it'll be a while.  CycloneGU (talk) 22:48, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
::::I wasn't sure. Thought I would be safe. Don't rush. I don't need to know right away. :::::Regarding Sabrina, I watched the two episodes involved.  Ash stopped the first match while Pikachu was being rammed against the floor and ceiling in turn (this after being controlled into a dance).  He never officially "fainted".  The second match, no one battled as Haunter just vanished.  The third time, Ash "won" when Haunter made Sabrina laugh for the first time since she was a child.  So to answer that one: no, Pikachu does not get knocked out at all.  CycloneGU (talk) 01:20, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

Every Gym leader you can re-match has been linked to this page (every gym leader except Wallace (Hoenn) and Ginovachni (Kanto) can be re-matched. Now then, lets get on with the Elite 4 and the Rivals... SpecialK Leiks Lucario and The Celebi Glitch 19:31, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Elite 4 done. SpecialK Leiks Lucario and The Celebi Glitch 19:53, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

first

Wasn't this in the games as early as Red and Green? After you defeated the E4 you could battle them again and again. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 15:55, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

That is good point. Lets add it! Something like:

Elite 4 and Champ

In all games so far (and probably in the future, soon to be confermed) the elite 4 and champ have been battleable again and again. Sometimes, after a Checkpoint in the game, they gat higher leveled pokémon.

Gym Leader phone numbers

The prerequisites listed for getting HGSS Gym Leaders' phone numbers aren't entirely correct; both Sabrina's number and Janine's number can be obtained before getting all 16 badges. The Pokégear page also says that Erika's number can be obtained before defeating Blue, but my experience seems to suggest otherwise. I'd correct this page, but I'm not sure what the best way to do it is. --Minimiscience 15:13, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

This isn't how it really looks in Platinum. The trainers are supposed to be more darker in the buidling, where in this screenshot they appear to be who they are in the overworld during the day. Shiramu Kuromu 00:51, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

This picture was taken from the article Battleground. I'd replace the image with a better one if i could. Anyways it looks like it was taken from seribii. ---> AquaDragon 03:52, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

Pokégear rematches in HGSS?

It's already noted that you in HGSS you can call registered Gym Leaders for a rematch at certain times of days, but does something similar apply to normal Trainers registered in your Pokegear? For example, it seems that every time I call School Kid Billy on a Friday afternoon/night he asks for a rematch rather than dropping the usual hints about where to find Gym Leaders. --Stratelier 14:41, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

Rematching Legendaries

The article says that you can only rematch Legendaries after defeating them from Platinum onwards. However, I ran away from Uxie and Azelf in Diamond when I was playing through it so I could see them in my Pokedex without actually catching them. They were gone from their caves afterwards (and I re-entered their caves multiple times and they were still gone), but when I defeated the Elite Four, they reappeared. Keep in mind this is from Diamond onwards. Did anyone else have this happen so I can add it to the article? Porygon-man 15:20, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

Experience Gains in HGSS

I just compiled a table of the experience gains from rematching the various gym leaders in HGSS (it has exp per pokemon as well as exp per person) should I post this somewhere? and if so, where and how? - unsigned comment from Meltonkyle (talkcontribs)

I don't think it is really relevant to Bulbapedia. --SnorlaxMonster 16:06, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

Shouldn't Ash's battle with Chili in BW058 go in the Anime section?
