:But most of its appearances were just cameo's and there's nothing to suggest it will be appearing anytime soon, even if it's just in more cameos. Maybe later on if it appears more prominently, or if Ash catches it. [[User:Playerking95|Playerking95]] ([[User talk:Playerking95|talk]]) 14:03, 14 January 2017 (UTC)

Revision as of 14:04, 14 January 2017

Do you think Wynaut, Spoink and Hippopotas should have their own articles? --Taromon777 15:50, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

They did, and they were all merged onto this page per the new anime Pokémon policy. --rockersk08 16:35, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

Gible

Now that Gible is following Ash, shouldn't it be added? Or should we wait a few episodes? --Kimori-Hinoarashi 21:45, 21 December 2009 (UTC) User talk:Kimori-Hinoarashi

Probably wait to see if someone catches it in Thursday's episode...--Psyライダー 21:50, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
And he caught it. -- Kimori-Hinoarashi
It's not a recurring wild Pokémon though... Well, it is, but so is Aipom, and it's not listed here. ht14 18:56, 24 December 2009 (UTC)
The article says recurring wild Pokémon. The purpose of this is to list Pokémon like Jigglypuff, Snubbull, Spoink, and Hippopotas. Aipom and Gible are owned by main characters, and I don't see a need for them on the list. Maybe a trivia mention about how they used to be recurring wild Pokémon before being captured... --electAbuzzzz 19:51, 24 December 2009 (UTC)
Well then, in that case, then does Madame Muchmoney's Granbull belong here and on the template? As far as I'm concerned, it's not a wild Pokémon. I won't take it off, but if I'm right, then somebody please do that. Also, referring to the first post, there's a page on it. So if I'm wrong, the whole page should be merged to this one. --Trickyb 23:56, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

Loudred

Say, since in the Hoenn saga there was a Loudred which appeared in a few episodes where in it rampaged around and all, shouldn't it also be added here? Or was it caught? --Shinytwo 13:17, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

Added, but its hidden since I havent done a summary for it, Ive not seen any of the episodes it was in. Vuvuzela2010 Δ 14:37, 26 November 2011 (UTC)

Snubbull/Granbull

Why is Snubbull/Granbull here? It was an OWNED Pokémon owned by Madame Muchmoney. Rai Marshall 23:17, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Well, she was technically running around as a wild Pokémon for a while before returning to her owner. Jello 23:21, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
Except it wasn't like she was released back in the wild, she was still an owned Pokémon who just chose to follow someone else for that time being. She wasn't wild. Rai Marshall 23:46, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Game version of pokemon is incorrect

If Hippopotas is male, why is it shown as a female Hippopotas (game sprite)...? Chomi 14:57, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Ash's Larvitar

Surely if the Hippopotas gets an article then Ash's Larvitar should have a section, their roles are quite similar in that they are both carried by Ash to be returned to their family and constantly use a certain move (Larvitar's being Harden and Hippopotas' being Yawn), the only differences are that Larvitar debuted as an egg and was used in battle, so shouldn't it have some part in this page (given that Ash didn't truly capture Larvitar)? Azure42 15:15, 30 December 2010 (UTC)

Loudred on Dewoford Island

Some raised this topic before but no one replied, an angry Laudred appeared many times throught out the Dewofard saga, however is right to assume it was the same one? Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 00:36, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

I think it's the same one. The situations it got into numerous times (being surprised/stepped on/vice gripped while sleeping) all point in that direction. You might as well say the wynaut in this article is 3 or 4 completely different Pokémon, there is no more evidence to support it being the same one than the loudred. WellyDawn 00:47, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Sandile/Waruvile

It's notable for it's own page now? J-J-M 15:32, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

Sunglasses

Should it be noted that its sunglasses seem to have grown with evelution?Lucariade 20:02, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

Capture

Should we put it in the recurring wild Pokemon caught by Ash when the episode airs? Chomper4 12:43, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

Palpitoad?

Palpitoad DID appear in BW034, and was caught in the next episode. Should we add Ash's Palpitoad to the list of Recurring wild Pokémon that have been caught? EvilKirikizan 00:01, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

Completely different location. Completely different Palpitoad. --ケンジガール 00:08, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

Lake guardians and Loundred

The lake gaurdians in the Dp searies and the Loundred on Dewoford island, shouldn't they be here ? Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 09:19, 16 October 2011 (UTC)

Pikachu Short Marill

Given that it appeared in no less than four shorts, should the Marill that kept using Sing in the Pikachu Shorts be included on this page? Watchermark 15:46, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

I've added it after Spoink, but I've kept it hidded because I've not written a summary, since I've not seen these shorts. Vuvuzela2010 Δ 12:44, 26 November 2011 (UTC)

Slowking

Can I propose that Slowking be removed from this page? It was a main character in the movie and had one tiny extra appearance. I wouldn't call that recurring, so I'd suggest it should get its own page like character-of-the-day Pokémon Nero, Orville or other movie Pokémon main characters: Lucario (M08), Entei (M03), Zoroark (M13) or Mewtwo (anime). Its a major character with a special backstory. It never appears in any main series. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 01:53, 26 November 2011 (UTC)

I oppose. Slowking has done too little to even have its own article.--ForceFire 12:03, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
It was more significant than half the human characters who appeared in the second movie. I don't think classing it as "recurring" is appropriate, because its not reappearing, it was a central character and then had one extra episode which had backstory to its life. Its not "occuring again, periodically, or repeatedly", which the definition of Recurring is. If there was another page to move it to I'd be happy with that, but it can't stay here. It doesn't make sense. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 01:50, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
Can I get some other opinions? I just don't think its right that Carol gets an article for her tiny role whilst Slowking, the main Pokémon besides the birds themselves, gets shoved into a combined article purely because its a Pokémon. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 13:19, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
Personally, I have to support this motion. Slowking isn't a reoccuring character in the anime like the rest of the Pokémon mentioned on this page. It appeared in the movie, in the Slowking's Day short and we haven't seen it since. Plus, as Toon Ganondorf said, it did play a pretty important role in the film... far more than Melody's sister Carol did. Lauraac2110 12:19, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
I support the move, Slowking is just as notable as the Unown in the third movie Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 21:05, 2 February 2012
I also support the move. I think of Slowking as a character of the day and they all get pages. He has a speaking role too. Human characters get pages if they appear multiple times in an episode/movie and speak usually so why shouldn't it be the same for Slowking? ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 08:35, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
Did we ever come to a decision on this issue? If not, can we? Just curious, as I was cruising the Wanted Pages, and stumbled upon this. Just to throw my two cents in, I would support the move. --ジェダイの騎士デジタルテレビ 00:57, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
Well, then, here's a little extra info on Slowking: he, idiom-wise, broke the fourth wall. I've heard that the "breaking of the fourth wall" is a very rare event in the anime. Pressthebutton 14:55, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
Not that rare. --SnorlaxMonster 15:24, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Sunglasses Krokorok and Ash

When BW065 airs, should we add Sunglasses Krokorok to recurring wild Pokemon that have been caught knwoing that Ash will catch it? Chomper4 16:50, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

Only after it airs.--MisterE13 16:56, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

Malamar

In XY054, Malamar from XY019 didn't use Hyper Beam - it was other Malamar who chased Clemont and James. - Rafi862 (talk) 10:06, 27 December 2014 (UTC)

Florges

A Blue Flower Florges appeared in XY069 and is set to appear in XY070. Should we put it on the recurring Pokémon page once XY070 airs? PattyMan 21:51, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

I believe this page is mainly for Pokemon that reappear after episode gaps, but I guess it would depend on the circumstances, in any case, best to wait till the episode airs. --Spriteit (talk) 14:39, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
Thanks. Wanted to be sure before XY070 aired. PattyMan 22:29, 27 April 2015 (UTC)

This page is getting ridiculous

We really need some guild lines on what a 'recurring' pokemon is. Groudon, Kyogre, Zekrom, Reshiram and Florges only appeared in two or three parters. In other words, while Groudon appeared in two episodes, it only appeared in one story, one forty minuet episode if you like. We don't put characters like Lewis or Ridley from the BW two partners down as tempory companions because they are no more re-occurring than A.J. or Otashi because they only 'occurred' once. Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 01:33, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

That seems reasonable, but I'm not really in charge of anime, so I'd wait for a few more opinions. --Abcboy (talk) 01:59, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
It depends on how "recurring" is taken, but I disagree with removing the sections right away because there are now links on anime episode articles linking to sections that don't exist on this page anymore, so I feel like there needs to be an actual decision based on this before we leave those sections off. AGGRON989 19:42, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
I believe the editorial board needs to make decisions of edits like the one removing 14,000+ bytes of information earlier. I have reverted it and am recommending editorial board review. There is a lot to clean up if that information is ALL removed. CycloneGU (talk) 20:02, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
At the time I removed all this, the appropriate links had not been set up on other pages. The misguided decision to add all this in the first place was just as drastic an edit as mine. All of the Pokémon I mentioned only appeared once despite being in two episodes. Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 16:08, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

Deoxys's Protect

Where did Deoxys from the Deoxys' Crisis! two-parter use Protect? I only remember seeing it using Safeguard instead of Protect. PattyMan 21:30, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

Deoxys used Protect when it was battling in its defense form. Seabiscuit2020 (talk) 22:12, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

Puni-chan

It's probably going to appear a lot more in the anime, and has a nickname too. It should be treated more like Ash's Larvitar and some other wild Pokémon on this page and given its own article. --Abcboy (talk) 21:20, 29 October 2015 (UTC)

I agree. Squishy's clearly going to play a huge role in things to come, way more than your average recurring wild Pokémon. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 03:06, 3 November 2015 (UTC)
I have a draft for Zygarde altogether, but it can be re-purposed to focus on Puni-chan itself if need be. - Chosen of Mana 21:22, 3 November 2015 (UTC)
I have one for Puni-chan, but no one ever edits it, it can be used for Puni-chan and Chosen's could be used as a whole (for both the Zygardes) Pratik_12 Talk 05:24, 4 November 2015 (UTC)

Now that a separate Puni-chan article has been established, should we adjust the Zygarde page to focus on Z-2, perhaps using the codename as its "nickname"? - Chosen of Mana 20:42, 21 November 2015 (UTC)

Should we add Meowth, Ash's Caterpie and Aura Sphere Riolu.

Meowth does not have a Pokeball and was even almost caught by Iris.

Ash's Caterpie was at the end of episode 2 but not caught till episode 3.

and the Aura Sphere Riolu was in 2 episodes.- Super10ZX 11:23 (UTC)

Meowth is covered by being a part of Team Rocket, even though it has been shown Meowth is technically wild. He is associated with Team Rocket so much that it doesn't have the same meaning as a truly wild Pokémon.
Ash's Caterpie was only in 2 episodes wild (counting the episode it was captured), and if I recall correctly there's usually a minimum of three episodes preferred for a Pokémon to be considered recurring (or at least not have both episodes be back-to-back continuations of each other).
Aura Sphere Rioulu falls into the same category as Ash's Caterpie: only 2 episodes, both the same plot arc, aired back-to-back. ChE clarinetist (talk) 12:28, 14 April 2016 (UTC)

Ok I understand stand all your reasons. But if Meowth is saved by being a member of Team Rocket, how come Team Rockets Delibird is listed on this page. - Super10ZX 19:29 (UTC)

I agree with your reasoning for Riolu and Caterpie, but more specifically they shouldnt be adde because they do not 're-occur' if a Pokemon appears in four consecutive episodes, it is no more a recurring Pokemon than Montgomery who appered once over the span of four episodes. However, though I've mentioned this before, Pokemon like Groudon, Kyogre and Zekrom are all still listed here despite not actually being recurring. If they are listed, Caterpie and Riolu just be listed for consistency's sake. And I might syggest changing the name of the page to 'Any Wild Pokemon in the anime that has appered in more than one episode' because a lot of the Pokemon on this page are not recurring. Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 09:10, 16 April 2016 (UTC)

I agree with you 05308 but maybe instead call it 'List of Wild Pokemon in the anime that have appered in more than one episode' -Super10ZX Jun, 17, 2016 02:35:22 (UTC)

Why do people think the T___us and Landorus are the same in both episodes?

I watched both episodes (counting each 2-parter as one together), and they never mentioned the genies being the exact same ones as before. I removed it, but someone else undid it & told me to bring it here. Unowninator (talk) 23:20, 19 June 2016 (UTC)

Split

This page seems to be nothing but an excuse to avoid giving notable wild Pokémon their own articles. They have their own infoboxes, and some even have their own trivia sections. This article is basically just a collection of smaller, unrelated articles rather than a list. If the Pokémon is a notable enough character to get a section on this page, then I think it's likely notable enough for its own article; by being on this page, it means they served a significant role in the anime. --SnorlaxMonster 11:24, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

If we were to get rid of this page completely, it would mean double-checking the notability of the Pokémon on this list. For example, I don't think Marill or Zekrom have enough information to merit its own page. - Chosen of Mana 21:38, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
We don't necessarily have to delete this page, but I don't think it should be formatted as a stack of mini-articles. If Zekrom and Marill don't have enough information for their own articles, they shouldn't have pseudo-articles here. --SnorlaxMonster 07:18, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
Most of the Pokémon on here aren't even recurring anyway; Zekrom, Groudon and Kyogre for example only appeared once despite appearing in two-part episodes. Surely there is a difference between two appearances and two episodes that haven't a second of "in-world" time between them? Are Lewis and Ridley recurring characters? I agree with SnorlaxMonster!Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 11:41, 25 August 2016 (UTC)
I've drafted some pages for those definatly deserving of a split; User:05308/Lugia (anime), User:05308/Florges (anime) and User:05308/Z2. I'd also like to reaffirm, while Ive mentioned it several times above that Groudon, Kyogre, Deoxys, Zekrom and Reshiram are not recurring Pokémon! Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 16:18, 27 August 2016 (UTC)
I already have Florges drafted, and I have Wooper created as well. PattyMan 14:36, 30 August 2016 (UTC)
My Florges can be deleted then, but something really needs to be done about this page... Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 15:00, 30 August 2016 (UTC)

I definitely think that Florges, Z2, and Malamar need to be split, as they are all given more personality and characterization than many human characters who have their own articles. I'm also fine with Lugia and Wooper getting their own articles, though I find that less urgent than Florges, Z2, and Malamar. We may also want to consider splitting Wynaut, Spoink, and Hippopotas. Wynaut is a running gag similar to Jigglypuff with its own personality, while Spoink and Hippopotas both function as the main character in their respective episodes, and are easily more like characters of the day than Nero (besides the obvious fact that they appear more than once; my point is, their character is more fleshed out). The same could be said for several other Pokemon without pages IMO, such as Snover from The Lonely Snover. Nutter Butter (talk) 05:21, 4 September 2016 (UTC)

Z2

This one should defiantly be split from here... Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 11:41, 25 August 2016 (UTC)

Z2

Z2 at least NOW deserves its own page... The legendary PkmnTrainerV is Here! (talk) 09:45, 8 September 2016 (UTC)

Z2 definitely, Florges too I suppose, but Z2 has more than enough info for a page and since it's likely to get more from the upcoming episodes... --Handmaiden 101 (tAlk) 11:40, 8 September 2016 (UTC)

One more reason, something I got from here (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Bulbapedia:Manual_of_style/Anime#Notability_requirements I don't know how to link pages...) "Recurring wild Pokémon may only receive articles if they had a significant impact on the plot AND appeared in at least three episodes. An example of this would be the Snubbull/Granbull that followed Team Rocket around, and the Jigglypuff that followed around Ash and his friends. All others should have a section on the recurring wild Pokémon in the anime article."

Z2 meets both requirements. The legendary PkmnTrainerV is Here! (talk) 12:51, 8 September 2016 (UTC)

Does Florges count too? It appeared in more than three episodes, and I guess she had impact on Goomy, but does that count? --Handmaiden 101 (tAlk) 17:37, 8 September 2016 (UTC)

Bewear

Is it worth including Bewear to the list? It made its debut in SM001 and has been following Team Rocket since SM003. --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 03:12, 2 December 2016 (UTC)

That's what makes it recurring.Rahl (talk) 03:22, 2 December 2016 (UTC)

Litten

Should Litten be added here? Sure it might be caught in a few episodes time but it's shown up from SM001 to SM004, it doesn't follow Ash and co around but it is still there Azure/ChromeVoid42 (talk) 11:05, 2 December 2016 (UTC)

Tapu Koko's Electric Surge

Why was Tapu Koko's Electric Surge ability removed? As soon as its battle with Ash begun, it activated Electric Surge, which Professor Kukui and Lillie mistaken it for Electric Terrain. Weather/field based abilities always activate on the first turn the Pokémon that has them appears in battle. --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 20:18, 6 December 2016 (UTC)

didn't they say it was electric terrain?--Pikablu (talk) 20:31, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
If it was called Electric Terrain we have to assume that because the anime doesn't always follow the games. If it turns out later to be Electric Surge, then it will be fixed. Nutter Butter (talk) 20:35, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
When Electric Terrain was used, the Pokémon would discharge electricity to the ground. When Tapu Koko activated Electric Surge, electric rings were emitted from its body. --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 15:56, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
Moves change in new series. Electric Terrain was called out, so it's Electric Terrain. If we're going to assume this was a mistake then any other move that was called out could be a mistake as well. Playerking95 (talk) 16:02, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
Since this is going nowhere really fast, I think we should just let this discussion go. --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 22:41, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

Komala

Is it wild or does it belong to Samson Oak? --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 22:44, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

There is no reason to believe it belongs to Samson or anyone else, except the opening, which is considered non-canon. If a future episode confirms it belongs to Samson, it will be removed from this page. ☼ BlazingFist ☼ 22:48, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
Ok. The ending Pose also hinted as well that the Komala might belong to Samson Oak. In it, it showed everyone with their Pokémon and Samson Oak with a Komala in his section of the ending. --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 23:23, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
That could just be referring to the fact that it is used at the bell ringer at the Pokemon School and Samson Oak is the Principal of the school, or Samson could catch it in the future, but for now, there is nothing to suggest that Samson Oak owns it. Playerking95 (talk) 08:29, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

Wait, why is Rotomdex here?

Doesn't Rotom belong to the Professor? (What's his name again?) Unowninator (talk) 02:37, 22 December 2016 (UTC)

Litten

It has appeared for more than 3 episodes. We have sufficient information on it. It even has its focus episode! Surely Litten deserves an article to itself! Just saying 'coz It has passed the notability requirements. The legendary PkmnTrainerV is Here! (talk) 13:59, 14 January 2017 (UTC)

But most of its appearances were just cameo's and there's nothing to suggest it will be appearing anytime soon, even if it's just in more cameos. Maybe later on if it appears more prominently, or if Ash catches it. Playerking95 (talk) 14:03, 14 January 2017 (UTC)
