Raichu

If you have a Pikachu in the party, and you are that Pikachu's original trainer, then there will be a Pikachu following you. If you are not the Pikachu's OT (such as, if you got one traded to you from GS) it won't follow you.--Purimpopoie 17:40, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Gender

Is the Pikachu's gender always the same whenever you trade it to a 2nd generation game? Lovely Rose 17:38, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

The gender is pre-set when you get the Pikachu. However, trading to a Generation II handheld game or viewing the Pokémon's info in Stadium 2 is necessary to see the gender, and the gender ratios do hold true even for the starter Pikachu in Yellow. The gender'll always remain the same as it was set no matter how many times it gets transferred between game paks, just like any other Pokémon. Although I've had it male most of the time, I've gotten it female at least once myself. I guess you can say that the Yellow version of the game gets thrown out the window if one's trying to prove Ash's Pikachu's gender in the anime (the game can't be considered evidence either way)...--Shiningpikablu252 17:48, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Battle

Is Yellow the first main series game to have two trainers appear on the enemy side of the battle screen? I've own the game myself since '99, and can't seem to find two trainers on the enemy side of the screen in Red/Blue.--Spritemaster 16:26 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Lickitung and Farfetch'd

You can catch Lickitung and Farfetch'd in this game, but you can't catch them in Red and Blue you have to get them through in-game trade. So why the heck can't we list that difference --AKR619 06:32, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

As they are available in Red, Green, and Blue the Pokémon themselves aren't exclusive. However, this is an interesting point and I've added it to the article. —darklordtrom 07:11, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Japanese V1.x

Changes

"Some Trainer sprites were also redone. Red was redesigned to closely resemble his counterpart Ash Ketchum from the anime whereas Blue closely resembles Gary Oak. Brock and Misty resemble their anime counterparts as well."

Does no one else have a problem with this? Red and Blue had their sprites redone, yes, but they match their official art from Gen 1. Much like all the Pokémon. You wouldn't say every Pokémon's sprite was redrawn to match the anime so much as to be more accurate to the official ideas. Also, Misty's sprite doesn't look particularly like it includes suspenders to me, just a tank top and some sporty shorts... BP 19:25, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Trivia

I fixed part of the Trivia section, and for some reason it won't let me put in links, I'm guessing it has something to do with me being a relatively new user, anyways if someone could or wants to add the links for the "Pokemon Diamond/Pearl and Platinum" part of it, it would be much appreciated. By the way the part I fixed was the line that said, "Pokemon Yellow is the only game to allow the player to walk into the grass without any Pokemon...", but you (the player) also walk into the grass without any Pokemon in the beginning of Pokemon D/P/Pt with Wally, then you get your starter, etc. So anyways thanks in advance. - Ash1Ketchum4 23:13, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

If you can edit a page then you can put in links. There's no limitations on linking. Make sure you're using the Wikicode for links (Or the relevant Link template). html code for links won't work. Werdnae (talk) 01:51, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

I just copied a link (from the edit section of the Generation IV page) for Pokemon D/P/Pt and then tried to show preview/save changes and it wouldn't let me, but it would let me edit it without the link thing. Is it that you can't copy other links or did it do something wrong? What exactly do you mean by "It wouldn't let me"? Was it saying that there was a loss of session data? If so then just try save it again - it's a glitch that the tech people are looking into. If it was saying that there was a permission error it had probably looged you out for some reason. Again, it's likely a glitch (Check your cookie settings if you want to make sure) and going back and trying it again should work. Werdnae (talk) 07:10, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

You said in the trivia that the second game your allowed to run in the grass without a Pokemon is Pokemon Diamond Pearl and Platinum, but in Platinum, Rowan stops you from going in the grass without Pokemon. - unsigned comment from MrGameAndWatch (talk • contribs)
