Origin of Name

Someone was theorizing about the name coming from XD in roman numerals being 490 which would be 104 new Pokémon, it's a pretty good theory imo but I don't know if it should be mentioned here. - Jshadias 23:49, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)

It probably comes from the fact that Lugia was called "Pokemon X" before Gold and Silver were released, and the "D" comes from dark. It probably doesn't come from eXtra Demension, as it says on the page. --Bulbafreak9000 00:10, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

It may have been a hint to the number of Gen IV Pokemon since the number did go up to 490 (excluding the 3 event pokemon Darkrai Shaymin and Arceus that Nintendo pretended didnt exist), unlikely but still quite possible due to the inclusion of Munchlax and BonslyVuvuzela2010 11:23, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

Metang at Lv. 30!!!!!!

Johto Starters

I've beaten Mt. Battle 4 times now and i still haven't gotten one of the Johto starters. Are you suppose to purify all of your shadow Pokémon first? --いぬみみ 01:38, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Have you gone from Miru to Battlus without changing your team? If not, that's your problem. You need to go from 1 to 100 without making alterations to your team along the way in order to get a Johto starter. --Shiningpikablu252 02:23, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Transferable Pokemon?

Are any of the Pokemon transferable [to Hoenn]? I see a list but is it a direct download? And how? Quote: its Poké Ball depends on the one used for catching it. Does that mean you have to catch it after download? Sivart345 05:31, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

You can trade between XD and Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. That's how Pokémon caught in this game get from Orre to Hoenn.

You can also trade between XD and FireRed and LeafGreen to get XD Pokémon to Kanto.

The same goes for Colosseum for getting Colosseum Pokémon from Orre to another country (though going to Sinnoh is an indirect route through another country since the Gamecube games can't connect with the DS ones). --Shiningpikablu252 16:26, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Yep. It means the ball that was used to catch it in the Gamecube game (this applies to both Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness). Simply put, if you snag Snattle's shadow Lunatone with a Great Ball, it will be reflected as being in a Great Ball no matter where it goes. If you trade over a Dive Ball from a GBA game and use it to snag shadow Dragonite in the last match against Miror B., that Dragonite will be shown to be in a Dive Ball even after Pal Park has run its course. --Shiningpikablu252 16:21, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Trades are made in the Phenac City Pokémon Centre's basement (AFTER the main boss is defeated). A GC-GBA cable is required. I can add that to the article if you think it's necessary. Zesty Cactus 05:10, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

First Pokemon game without a subtitle?

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia were released after Pokémon XD, so it would still be the first, not only. I'm not sure if Pokémon Yellow counts, though. Zesty Cactus 15:13, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

List

This list is incorrect, Pigdeotto is listed twice, Gulpin isn't even on there, and some of the levels are incorrect (ex: Makuhita is caught at 18 rather than 14), I have leveled up some of my pokemon on here, so I dont have a reference, but will someone please fix this? Elekid

The Elekid's name is Zaprong; shouldn't this be in the article instead of Elekid? Or at least noted elsehwere on the table? I don't know the rule for nicknamed obtainable Pokémon, or I'd have added it myself. LordArceus 02:08, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

There is no AuroraTicket in XD. AuroraTicket is only available in FireRed, LeafGreen, and Emerald. TTEchidna 01:52, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

'eXtra Dimension' Trivia

Fateful Encounter in Black and White

Something I had noticed from a while ago, all of my pokémon that originated from Xd have a fateful encounter status. This isn't the case for Colosseum. Can anyone else confirm this? Buibui 15:06, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

Gameplay

Not quite. This game does allow for the capture of some wild Pokémon but you don't meet them by walking around. You only meet them when going to specific locations when your P★DA alerts you that there are Pokémon at those locations. Shambles12 (talk) 05:49, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

Lily and Professor Krane

In this article it refers to Professor Krane as "a scientist researching Pokémon purification and a family friend" however on Lily's page it says that Professor Krane is Micheal's father. I think you need to read that line again. "According to an NPC, Lily was considered to be a very popular student in the past, and many boys competed to impress her, including Professor Krane and the man who would eventually win her heart and become Michael's father." Scyther

Bug

I found a bug where, in certain spots, the screen would vibrate and, if you unplugged and plugged in your controller while holding the control stick in the opposite direction that you want to walk, you could just leave the GameCube on, and Michael would still walk causing your Pokémon to gradually have the door to their heart opened without you having to be playing. I don't know what you mean about the screen, but the control stick thing is standard behavior for many controllers. It's nothing to do with the game, just you abusing the hardware it runs off of; the GameCube just presumes that the control stick is initially in a neutral position.
