Question

Does Pay Day's effect happen in link battles? Or just in-game battles? --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 00:29, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure, but I don't think so. This also applies to Battle Tower/Frontier battles...speaking of money, the most one can gain without use of items (other than PP Max) is $640, since you can get $200 for a lv. 100 Pokémon and up to 32 PP can be gained, right? ht14 14:09, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
How do you get $640 from that? 200 times 32 is $6400. Although it seems correct other than that. So, theoretically. The Dark Fiddler - Smarter than the average bear! 14:13, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
Whoops... ht14 23:51, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
Don't mean to revive a dead conversation, but can we use the AMulet Coin to double our gains, making a total of $12800? Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links 00:15, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
I doubt it. The Amulet coin only affects the amount of money the Trainer gives you. TESHIGIGAS 00:18, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Doubles money received after battle if the holder takes part in the battle. It's on the Amulet coin's description. Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links 00:20, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Maybe it does affect it, I don't know. But this is one of those things where you need to test it. TESHIGIGAS 00:27, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
It affects Pay Day's money, too, at least in D/P, but I distinctly remember it being the same in Fire Red. I tested it with a Level 100 Meowth on a level 18 Wooper. Without the amulet, 500, and with, 1000. In the same vein, I tried in D/P's Battle Park, and there was no money gained during a challenge.Neo Qwerty 01:16, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Twice your level?

I've been using a Meowth level 18 in LeafGreen and attacking with Pay Day. Each time, it gave me 90$, and 180 if used twice. And then my Meowth gained a level, and each time he used Pay Day, it gave me 95$. Is it possible that it was changed to 5 times your pokemon's level? That would be my guess, but if others can confirm... Thanks! Dargad 03:12, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

I know for sure it was 2× in Generation I--being inexperienced when I first played Yellow, I often taught the starter Pikachu the move via TM and used it often against Rhydon in the Cerulean Cave to make big profits. Keep in mind that the Generation I games had no real easy money-making methods.
The best way to test your theory would be to test Pay Day in each generation, both with and without the Amulet Coin in Generation II onward. This'll give us a timetable on both if and when the Pay Day ratio changes. --Shiningpikablu252 03:22, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
The 5× ratio definitely applies in generation IV, in Platinum using it twice gave me $300 with a level 30. -Mattrules161 12:27, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Enemy Meowth

When battling a trainer's or a wild Meowth and they use pay day, do you pick up the money if you beat them? - unsigned comment from Cheshy458 (talkcontribs)

Unfortunately, No. --Arima 03:32, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
