Talk:Noibat (Pokémon)

I was going to say that Noibat was the only Pokémon based off of a bat that does not require high friendship to reach its final form in the trivia section, but then I remembered Gligar. I was wondering if I should 1, say "Noibat and Gligar are the only Pokémon based off of bats that do not require high friendship to reach their final forms", 2, say "Noibat is the only Pokémon without "bat" in its name that does not require high friendship to reach its final form", 3, say something other than that, or 4, not say anything. Probably better not to say anything in my opinion, since Gligar appears to be based on both scorpions and bats, and multiple things cannot be the "only" thing (if there are more than one, it's not unique). Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 18:50, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

Edit Request

Under the trivia there is a note saying: "Noibat and its evolution Noivern are the only dual Flying-type Pokémon to have Flying as their primary type." Underneath this is another note saying "Additionally, they are the only Dragon/Flying type to have Flying as their primary type."

Just because "They are the only Dragon/Flying type with Flying as their primary type" is true, that does not at all mean it's not a redundant statement to make... This is practically the definition of redundancy. "The only dual Flying-type Pokémon to have Flying as their primary type" already covers "the only Dragon/Flying type Pokémon to have Flying as their primary type"; the latter doesn't need saying, it's redundant.

That may be completely separate from whether you think it should still be stated out, though; if, for some reason, you think Dragon/Flying is wholly special enough to deserve that. The first point solely covers the fact that it is the only dual Flying-type with Flying as its primary type. The second point covers the fact that it is the only Dragon/Flying type (out of 5 families) with flying as its primary type. The first point is not the same trivia the second point is saying.

It' not about whether Dragon/Flying is special, it's about the fact that Noibat/Noivern are the only ones out of five with Flying as their primary type. The Skorupi trivia point is the same thing, Bug/Poison isn't all too special, but Skorupi is the only one (out of many) with Poison as its primary type.--ForceFire 06:08, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
