It seems pretty clear to me that the more you water, the more berries you get --- but does anyone know more about this mechanics? I've been operating under the assumption that if at any point you see drier soil, then you get fewer berries. However, I just used growth mulch on Wepear, and the soil ended up drier in every stage (although I watered as often as I could)... and I still got 10 berries. Has anyone figured out how the number of berries (or percent of maximum berries) is determined? How dry does the soil need to get before fewer berries appear? What if the soil is dry during a stage change? So many questions, and so much sitting and waiting to find out... Or does it...?

Does it double/half the growth time? I did an experiment yesterday and my Sitrus and Oran Berries became fruit-bearing at different times, not the same. TTEchidnaFire echyGSDS! 08:20, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

    • Update to that: I planted a Wiki in Growth at 0822 PST; it went to next stage somewhere between 1200 and 1204 PST. I'll try to keep track of when it changes stages. -Tsanth 20:09, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

        • This time I saw the actual change to next stage. You get the sparkly animation (I saw half of it before, but wasn't sure if I saw it correctly), and the new sprite replaces the old one. The next stage procced at 1939. This data isn't proving very predictable, as of yet. -_- -Tsanth 03:47, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
          • My final stage came about at 2343 PST, right before the time switched to 2344: maybe the Growth Mulch reduces each stage's length by ~1hr? I re-verified the sparkly animation and harvested 5 berries for every one planted. Perhaps the berry yield is dependent upon total growth time? Wiki grows in 20 hours, with 5 hours per stage. It should have grown in around 15 hours with the mulch, which it seems to have. Normally, you'd have to have harvested those things around 4:20 AM. TTEchidnaFire echyGSDS! 08:50, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Watering?

Right, I originally presumed that Damp and Growth Mulches just altered the amount of time it took per stage, and you still had to water once per stage. I recently planted some 12 and 8 hour berries with damp mulch (making them 15 and 10 hour berries), and some 18 hour berries without mulch. Some time later, all the berries had sprouted: the 15/10 hour berries had light brown soil, and the 18 hour berries had dry soil.

So does anyone know how it works? Do you only have to water once every two stages or something? Cyberdude93 14:01, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
