:Do you think we should add all the Pokemon that evolve by a certain method. For example, all Pokemon that evolve by happiness, all Pokemon that evolve in a certain are upon level up in certain locations (like Magneton, Nosepass, and Eevee), and such? For all methods, we really only have one example. I think adding the other examples will be beneficial to the article. :Yes. If it raised a level in any way, then it will evolve. You'll see that in the evoboxes, the rare candy sprite is shown when the Pokémon evolves by level up. == Pokémon who evolve when trained in a certain area ==
Has anyone (Nintendo employee/Pokémon representative) said anything about how Pokémon that evolve in certain areas will work in any possible future generations? Will they constantly have to introduce new areas with proper/flexible conditions or will Pokémon have to be traded up through generations (Time Capsules, Pal Park etc.)?  Just seems like something that they will have to constantly adapt to now (ie require a magnetic mountain/forest(not hard)/Ice stone and any other places if they introduce any new Pokémon that evolve similarly)-- [[User:D558|D558]] 09:12, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

:::Since the pages would contain only the information the categories have, there really isn't any need. Indeed, however sometimes I feel inadequate in my Pokémon lore as it happens that I was introduced to it with Saphire and lack some greater knowledge (such as, for example, the mention of it beginning with Gen II Pokémon) --Red! 21:19, 13 March 2006 (CST)

Methods of evolution vs. methods for determining evolved Pokémon

I think that the inclusion of the Tyrogue evolution in the Others section is wrong. Tyrogue will always evolve according to level; what changes is which Pokémon it will evolve into. Same is true about Eevee evolving into Espeon/Umbreon, and about Wurmple's evolution. User142 (Talk) 12:25, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Yeah. We could probably put Espeon and Umbreon under the Happiness-based, Umbreon going with Lisyan and Espeon going with Riolu and Subomi. As for Tyrogue, Sneasel, and Tamanta, they could go in separate subsections of level up, one for by level up with a determinant of stats, one for level up with determinant of held item, and one for level up with determinant of party Pokémon. Or something. Maybe do sections like
  • Evo trigger 1
    • Evo determinant 1
    • Evo determinant 2
    • Evo determinant 3
  • Evo trigger 2
    • Evo determinant 1

Only have them in sections with the equals signs, y'know? For example,

==Level up== These Pokémon evolve when they reach a certain level.

  • Bulbasaur
    • Ivysaur at 16
  • Charmander
    • Charmeleon at 16
  • Squirtle
    • Wartortle at 16
  • etc.

===Stat=== These Pokémon evolve depending on their stats at the time of evolution.

  • Tyrogue
    • Hitmonlee if Attack > Defense
    • Hitmonchan if Attack < Defense
    • Hitmontop if Attack = Defense

===Hold item=== These Pokémon evolve when they are holding a certain held item and are leveled up.

  • Sneasel
    • Weavile if holding Sharp Claw
  • Gligar
    • Glion if holding Sharp Claw
  • Pinpuku
    • Chansey if holding Round Stone

===Party Pokémon=== These Pokémon evolve if there are certain other Pokémon in the same party as them when they level up.

  • Tamanta
    • Mantine if Remoraid is in the party

===Location of training=== These Pokémon evolve if they are trained and level up in a certain location.

  • Magneton
    • Jibacoil if in the Tengan Mountains
  • Eevee
    • Leafia if near Moss Rock
    • Glacia if near Ice Rock

==Trade== These Pokémon evolve when they are traded between cartriges.

  • Graveler
    • Golem
  • Machoke
    • Machamp
  • etc.

===Hold item===

  • Porygon
    • Porygon2 with Up-Grade
  • Scyther
    • Scizor with Metal Coat
  • Slowpoke
    • Slowking with King's Rock
  • etc.

Maybe we could do category links to those specific categories. That'd require us categorizing them all by evolution, not just those select, special ones I already did. And even that took a bit of time. Should we do it? Tom Temprotran 20:44, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
