:Yeah, you're right those green lines are very irritating, I don't know why they are there in the first place. It remembers me to the EP38 accident.  [[User:Nickvang|Nickvang]] ([[User talk:Nickvang|talk]]) 08:35, 21 July 2012 (UTC)

Images

Would it be better to restyle the page in a manner that does not involve images, since not everyone has a sprite, and that makes the article seem incredibly lacking. - unsigned comment from Turtwig A (talkcontribs)

It could be changed to look a little like Template:TCG Releases, or maybe the characters without sprites could be omitted? GoldenCelebi 16:28, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
...Hello? *clears throat meaningfully* GoldenCelebi 17:59, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
Can't the overworld sprites be used for those? |) u |( e ® 18:38, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
That could work. I tried it before, but I couldn't find any overworld sprites for most of them. If you'd like to look again, you're perfectly welcome. This is a wiki, after all. GoldenCelebi 20:08, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
I'm into other projects now, that was a suggestion. |) u |( e ® 20:17, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

Adding sprites?

Do they have to battle sprites or can they also be overworld sprites too? Frozen Fennec 17:12, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

To be honest, I think any sprites would do, or even Sugimori art if necessary. GoldenCelebi 22:34, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
Was wondering since looking at the article it seems to be they all have to be in-game sprites (or icons for the 3D games). Frozen Fennec 22:43, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
Another question, you think anyone will mind if I convert the long lists into the image tables? Frozen Fennec 22:48, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
I doubt it. It's been lying half-complete for about two months now. GoldenCelebi 22:56, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

Wait.

Why Snap is in Generation II? Article doesn't say anything about GSC, only HGSS. Also, Reed is never seen in-game, only in radio, Lily doesn't appear either. Marked +-+-+ 16:05, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

Yes, Snap should be in Generation I. Says it here. *goes off to change it* -- GoldenCelebi 10:08, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
It's not referring to that Snap. There's a character, or radio host, named snap who appears in HGSS. Reed appears in GSC.--ForceFire 10:12, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
Yet another idiotic mistake to add to my current tally. >:-/ -- GoldenCelebi 10:23, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

Sprites replacement.

Because every character is listed by the game of debut and no repetition is used, the old characters have old sprites. I think this is not a good reason, so could we give everyone the newest sprite possible? Instead of their sprites of debut? Nickvang (talk) 12:53, 20 July 2012 (UTC)

They should at least all use generation III sprites, even those characters introduced in generation I. - unsigned comment from Nickvang (talkcontribs)
I've done Kanto and it looks nicer now. I understand the list by debut, but not the list with debut pictures! Nickvang (talk) 15:24, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
Uh... might want to look at this. -- GoldenCelebi 17:35, 20 July 2012 (UTC)

I actually think Jo the Marten isn't right. If someone wants a list of game characters, the newest sprite possible must be used. I mean... ...there isn't a second list with the new images. Everybody needs a proper list with proper pictures. Like a said before: I understand the list by debut, but not the list with debut pictures! And by the way, noone seems to have trouble with my changes at the moment. Nickvang (talk) 07:59, 21 July 2012 (UTC)

Read the headers. They say a specific game, we use a specific game sprite.--ForceFire 08:06, 21 July 2012 (UTC)

But it's not 'fair' that being of a later generation means having a better game sprite. We start with old black and white sprites and we end with new colorful sprites. I find it confusing and pages like 'Gym leader' and 'Elite Four' have also their characters listed by debut, but not with debut sprites. Nickvang (talk) 08:21, 21 July 2012 (UTC)

This is not about what's fair. This about listing them chronologically. The Kanto Gym leaders debuted in Generation I, therefore, we use Generation I sprites. Elite Four and Gym leader pages only have their newer sprites because that page is not about chronology, unlike here where all characters listed are by debut.--ForceFire 08:27, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
If I could throw in my two cents. I like it fine the way it is. If people want to see the newer sprites, they can just look up the character page. Crystal Talian 08:30, 21 July 2012 (UTC)

Ruby/Sapphire

The color of the table in Ruby/Sapphire section hurts my eyes. Am I the only one? --Maxim (talk) 08:24, 21 July 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, you're right those green lines are very irritating, I don't know why they are there in the first place. It remembers me to the EP38 accident. Nickvang (talk) 08:35, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
It's because template:ruby color is rather dark, along with template:sapphire color and template:hoenn color.--ForceFire 08:39, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
