Move

The current title is incorrect, as an artifact is, from Wikipedia: "something made or given shape by man, such as a tool or a work of art, esp an object of archaeological interest".

With the exception of the GS Ball, the Bells, and possibly the Orbs, a lot of these items are made by Pokémon, not people, and the GS Ball would never be considered an artifact. Vuvuzela2010⚡ 20:17, 18 September 2011 (UTC)

Following that definition, you are correct; however, there is not just one definition of artifact. The fundamental problem with that definition is that Pokémon are sentient too, so the definition usually applied in a non-fiction environment does not apply in a fictional universe such as this. The fifth definition is relevant here. The Blue Orbs control Groudon and Red Orb controls Kyogre?

Shouldn't we note that, in the games, when Maxie uses the Blue Orb on Groudon, it went on a rampage, as well as Kyogre when Archie uses the red Orb, thus, revealing that they both used the wrong Orbs in order to control Groudon and Kyogre and that in the anime they STILL used the wrong orbs but are still able to control them? - unsigned comment from MrAkmalDanish (talk • contribs)

I'm pretty sure that they did their homework and thus picked the right orb for the job. But as outlined in the Pokédex, Groudon and Kyogre will fight to the death if they ever meet. Also in the manga, the power of the orbs was shown to backlash into the holder if they weren't strong enough to handle them. This was also shown in the anime as well. Split

Seeing as the Dragon Stones page was made, I created a page for the colored orbs in my userspace and formatted it off of the Dragon Stones page. BW

Entries for items such as the Wings and the Bells, which are used in generations prior to generation V have descriptions for Black and White, even though they don't appear on the Key Item list for those games. This is especially puzzling for the Wings, as they don't have entries for any of the generation III games. Which list needs fixing? --エルレイド 05:59, 29 April 2012 (UTC)

Despite not being used and being unobtainable, all Generation IV key items appear in the game data for the Generation V games. Some of them even have new bag descriptions (and even weirder, the Lost Item has a new sprite). --SnorlaxMonster 14:43, 29 April 2012 (UTC)

I think it was decided to only put obtainable items on those lists. That's why the S.S. Ticket only appears under HGSS on List of key items in Generation IV rather than under "all Gen IV games", despite it being in the data of DPPt. Those items tend to go to List of dummied out items, but these aren't dummied out. I guess another section could be added to the page for unobtainable key items (which I think would be a good idea). --SnorlaxMonster 12:14, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

Colored Orbs

Some questions

I am a little bit curious:

- In the article, it is said that: "These artifacts are capable of summoning or contain these Pokémon." But what about some items in the article like Soul Dew and Griseous Orb? Are they "capable of summoning or contain" some Pokémon (i.e. Lati@s, Giratina,...)? If they aren't, and still be the "Legendary artifacts," could we add some more items (i.e. Lunar Wing, Magma Stone, Reveal Glass (it can summon the Forces of Nature in the anime), and many more)?

- The translated Japanese names of some items here (Clear Bell, Soul Dew, Enigma Stone, Azure Flute,...) are different from they are in their main articles. Can someone fix in order for them to be the same?
