Trivia
I noticed that Gear/Giaru is the the only Pokemon consisting of two seperate entities. A couple of other Pokemon have had two heads/minds before, but were always connected by some physical bond. Can we add this fact in, or do we have to see the rest of Gen. 5? - unsigned comment from Element03 (talk • contribs)

- Well, I mean just two. Magneton and Dugtrio are three entities, Porygon-Z is one entity with multiple seperate parts, and Exeggcute is six or seven seperate eggs. Gear/Giaru is the only two-bodied Pokemon, and by consequence the multi-bodied Pokemon with the least bodies.--Element03 00:18, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Physiology
Can a mod add this:
Giaru resembles two gears, with six cogs each, interlocking. The cogs of the gears are a light grey, while the central regions are much darker. Their left eyes are a simple "X", while their right eyes are very wide with a black pupil and a white cornea. Trivia2
I'd like to add this to the trivia:
Giaru's ability either being Plus or Minus could suggest that it exerts a sort of magnetism, or that sending out two(or possibly three Giaru) is an advantage considering the fact that gears turning in oppposite directions combine.Pelipper 23:37, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

Name Origin
I was thinking what could possibly be its name origin. If it was just a corrupted ギア gia, gear, or if it had something else behind it. Maybe, it could be something like a portmanteau of 誼 yoshimi or gi, friendly relations, and ある aru, to be with ギア gia, gear.KurowaSan 06:21, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
- When it is two gears, and its name is a direct transliteration of gear, I think it's pretty safe to assume that the only origin is the word gear. Also, it makes me wonder why this page isn't at Gear (Pokémon), like Wargle. --SnorlaxMonster 06:42, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
- ウォーグル Uōguru is an obvious portmanteau of the english words (written in japanese) ウォー uō, war, and イーグル īguru, eagle, becoming Wargle.
Now, for ギアル Giaru, this doesn't really happen. It may be just a corruption of ギア Gia, gear, but "giaru" isn't "gear" in Japanese.KurowaSan 07:00, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
