That's still there? I'm pretty sure CoolPikachu! confirmed that Joey's Rattata actually has an IV spread of 0 0 0 0 0 0. 梅子^❀_✿ 17:29, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, it does... just like every other regular trainer Pokemon, it has a random nature (I think?) and 0 in all of its IVs. ▫▪Ťïňắ ^♫♥ 17:38, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Are you guys sure you didn't mix up EV with IV? All in-game trainers have an EV spread of 0 0 0 0 0 0, but I believe that most of them do in fact have IVs. I actually just confirmed this - on my Pearl, I captured a trainer's Pokémon and checked the IV spread - it was NOT 0 0 0 0 0 0. (I used Pearl so I wouldn't have a chance of corrupting my SoulSilver) (Anyway, Pearl backs up with AR DSi) --TruePikachu 04:55, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

Joey's Rattata

I caught Joey's Rattata with the "catch trainer's Pokémon" Gameshark cheat, and it really does have all-zero IVs. It also has a Gentle nature (+Sp.Def, -Def). Myth busted!

It's actually quite common for trainers to have all-zero IVs on their Pokémon, but this isn't the case for every trainer. Tougher trainer classes have higher IVs to represent superior difficulty, and all IVs for a given Pokémon are equal. Approximate values are Rocket Grunts with IVs of all 3, Ace Trainers 6 or 7, Kimono Girls 18, the HGSS Kanto Gym leaders 25, and the Elite Four and Champion have 30. Trainer Pokémon never have EVs and never have beneficial nature except by chance. --JDigital 02:12, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Here are the stats on Joey's Rattata, for comparison: Level 4, Atk 9, Def 6, Sp.Atk 7, Sp.Def 7, Spd 10, HP 16. Nature: Gentle. Ability: Run Away. PID: 8073096. A trainer's Pokémon's PID is always the same, which is why the gender, nature and ability (and Spinda's spot pattern) are always the same. However, it may change in a re-match, since you're essentially fighting a different instance of that trainer. --JDigital 02:38, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Is it woth noting that in HGSS at the fourth+ battle, his Raticate knows the move Endeavor, which would almost perfectly spell out (F.ocus Sash), E.ndeavor, (Quick) A.ttack, R.aticate. Pawsrent 17:15, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

Another Trainer with the same name spotted (R/S/E)

As I point out in my Sapphire Let's Play, there is a third Youngster Joey in R/S/E. Why is the Hoenn Joey not mentioned in this article? Bwburke94 01:12, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

1. This is the joey from johto not hoenn, the one that annoys everyone with "top percentage" rattata

2. If there is another joey then it would 2 joeys not three

3. his name is probably different in the japanese version so it wouldn't count anyway...and therefore wouldn't need to be in the article

There are three Youngster Joey Trainers, just to clarify (if not more). One in Johto, one in Kanto (Gen III, RTE 25, with a Rattata, but not the same Jp!name), and one in Hoenn. Luna Tiger * the Arc Toraph 02:19, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

X & Y Youngster Joey?

He's literally the first trainer you get to fight inside the Santalune Forest. He even has the same Japanese name. Are we allowed to add this? --Dracometeor12 (talk) 19:56, 8 December 2013 (UTC)

It's mentioned as a trivia point that there is a Trainer with the same name in Black & White, and X & Y. It's extremely unlikely that either of those Joeys are the same one as in the Johto games, though, so the trivia point is all that's needed. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 21:20, 8 December 2013 (UTC)
