Imprisoning Imprison

Does anyone know if Imprison locks opponent's use of Imprison?--Purimpopoie 23:09, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

  • I'm fairly certain it does. Yenreb 11:45, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Kyurem Level

Under the Gen-V pokemon that learn Imprison by level up, it shows two different levels for Kyurem, 8 and 64. Which one is the real one? Both? --FiMbUlWiNtEr2O|2 03:21, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Both, probably. Some Pokémon learn moves up to 10 times or so while levelling up. Bluesun 06:50, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Does Imprison block the whole team?

TorchicBlaziken (talkedits) 21:31, 12 March 2011 (UTC)

Yes, it blocks every opponent on the field as long as the user remains out.Blazios 21:43, 12 March 2011 (UTC)

Trivia confusion

According to the trivia section of the article, Imprison's animation changes from the Japanese game to the American/European versions. However, I was left to wonder: Which game? CuboneKing 21:58, 12 March 2011 (UTC)

Every game, as far as I'm aware. It's definitely changed in at least all the handhelds, though I'm not too sure about Colosseum, XD and PBR. Blazios 22:11, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
What did the original version look like? Was it something inappropriate or controversial? Morgil27 05:44, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
It's a red X with the Japanese for 'sealing' on it, at least in Black. Probably removed because of the Japanese test. Bluesun 05:48, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

All sealed moves revealed in one go

If a Pokemon tries to pick one of the moves sealed by Imprison, the player will be shown all the moves that are sealed at once. E.g. X can't use the sealed {Move 1} (press A) X can't use the sealed {Move 2} (press A) X can't use the sealed {Move 3} Is this worth mentioning? This situation happened in one of my battles. Lanturn 13:45, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

No shared moves = "sealed the opponent's move(s)" or "But it failed" ?

I'm pretty sure that if one attempts to use Imprison against an opponent with no moves in common, the move will execute as normal (just to no practical effect), as opposed to the game declaring "But it failed!". Thoughts? --Stratelier 18:07, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

Oops, spoke too soon - this was a change implemented in Generation V. New question though; because the effect is linked to the user and the opponent's team, this means that if the opponent switches out, the new Pokémon is also subjected to Imprison's effects, right? --Stratelier 18:10, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
I assume it just affects the opposing team, preventing them from using a move the user knows. Haven't really tried if it affects the user's team yet, but I can try it out and see. Berrenta (talk) 21:22, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

Identical Effects

Should it be mentioned that some moves have identical effects except that they can't be imprisoned by Pokemon with the counterpart move? Detect/Protect, Tail Whip/Leer, Foresight/Odor Sleuth to name a few. JamUsagi (talk) 09:15, 7 March 2016 (UTC)

No. That should be obvious. Tiddlywinks (talk) 17:37, 7 March 2016 (UTC)
