It rather looks more shiny than the normal form.. does anyone think the same, or am I just insane? TinaTheKirliaFile:281MS.gif 00:14, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

The glow obscures the actual colouring of Ho-Oh (possibly intentionally since the first episode aired two and a half years before GS came out). Ho-Oh is shown normally in the Ecruteak City episodes and is certainly in its normal colouration there. --FabuVinny T-C-S 00:53, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
Ah, I see. I've never really watched the episodes so I didn't know XD TinaTheKirliaFile:281MS.gif 01:17, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
I still say it looks shiny. I mean, it sparkles like Ash's Noctowl does, and Noctowl's shiny! --File:Spr 3e 059.gifFile:Spr 3e 132.gifTheryguy512 File:Trozeiani025.gif 12:16, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Gender

I don't think Ho-oh's gender should be "none" since it's unknown if genderless Pokemon apply in the anime, and therefore, not 100% confirmed. In fact i think it's very unlikely that it's genderless since there was a female (mother) Lugia in the series, so it should be "Unknown" (GT4GTR 11:23, 16 June 2008 (UTC))

I agree. I think Legendary Pokémon in the anime have genders. I don't know why, but i guess that they didn't want to give most of the legendary Pokémon genders in the games so people couldn't breed them some how? Or maybe because it would cause a bit of controversy as to how the species reproduce in the wild?--いぬみみ01:28, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, though I think it's more of the former, since Entei's Pokedex entry has hinted that it reproduces, plus the fact that there always seems to be a lot of Legends (like the legendary birds appearing in Kanto/Sevii Islands, Orre, and Hoenn (albeit being owned by Brandon), Mew has appeared in Kanto, Fiore, Hoenn, and Pokemon Island. the legendary beasts appearing in Kanto, Johto, Orre, and Fiore, Lugia and Ho-Oh appearing in Sevii Islands, Orre, and Johto, Celebi appearing in Johto, Orre, Fiore, and Almia, the three golems appearing in Hoenn (twice) and Sinnoh, the Lati@ appearing in hoenn (and also briefly hinted at being many of them), and technically Orre. the weather trio appearing in Hoenn, Fiore, and Orre (technically), Deoxys appearing in Hoenn, Fiore, and (Technically) Sinnoh, Dialga and Palkia appearing in Sinnoh, Almia, and Pokétopia, Manaphy (for obvious reasons), Phione (again, for obvious reasons), Heatran was in Sinnoh (twice) and Almia, Cresselia was in Sinnoh (twice) and Almia, Regigigas was in Sinnoh (twice) and Almia, Darkrai was in Almia and Sinnoh, and Shaymin was in Almia, Sinnoh, and apparantly Kanto. All of these things point to legendaries (or at least most of them) not quite being one of a kind, even IN the games, as well as possibly the fact that they breed. Legendary Birds Slab

Relief depicting Moltres, Zapdos, Arcanine and what is speculated to be either Articuno or Ho-Oh

What makes people think it looks more like an Articuno than Ho-Oh? Ash zane 15:22, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Probably its pose, which is pretty much identical to Articuno's promotional artwork. --PAK Man Talk 15:07, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
