Giovanni

According to this manga (How I Became a Pokémon Card by Kagemaru Himeno) Giovanni have got his Persian since he was a child. --Valepert 18:19, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

That's merely one canon's take on the Persian's backstory. That manga is based on the TCG, so odds are anime canon can and probably does differ in this instance. --Shiningpikablu252 18:23, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

The Trivia

I don't think the trivia "Giovanni's Persian and James' Mime Jr. are never used in battle" is true. While it is true that you've never seen Giovanni's Persian used in battle, James' Mime Jr. was used in a battle against Francesca's Chingling in The Bells Are Singing!.
I am going to delete that, now.

Shiny Persian... or not?

I just decided to watch the older episodes since I missed out on it (including the last few of season 1, since our cable company decided to turn that channel from basic cable to a specific cable package, which we never bothered to get; we never got the channel locally). In episode "84 (A Scare in the Air)" in season 2/Orange League, it doesn't seem like Persian is really a shiny. I am a huge Persian fan personally, and I'm all for the shiny theory, but in this episode, the ears honestly look more tannish than pinkish. Can someone else verify this with maybe a few different episodes where Giovanni's Persian is shown? It has a slight pinkish look, but honestly, tan can look pinkish in some cases. I don't want to edit the article without more proof or anything. I mean, older episodes can tend to have crappier quality, so this is why I want to make sure on this... I don't want to feel like an idiot without getting more proof for it. Espeonage64

Gender

With the recent tweet on the Pokemon Radio Twitter ("Good boy, Persian") confirming Persian's gender as male, should we fill in the box with male and change the pronouns?

I wouldn't think so. Most owners do that with their pets (whether they are a boy or girl). PattyMan 23:45, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
