:::I see... In light of Ho-Oh, I'll just try to add Lati@s as "from" Lati@s. =P Plus, we are marking it as a Gift on [[Southern Island]]. I don't know if it'd be too bad to change the Synchronize definition if necessary, though (just less neat, since you couldn't use a nice, neat list like this). Do Eggs count? Such as Riley giving the Riolu egg, and Cynthia giving a Togepi egg? Blake Talk·Edits 15:51, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Yeah. I don't see why not. --PsychicRider 15:52, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
Don't the daycare couple also give you an egg in Gold/Silver/Crystal? Solar Dragon 16:08, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, the Odd Egg. Turtwig A Contributions Talk 16:19, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
All right then. Are you going to add that in or shall I? In fact, there are more egg Pokemon available. A list is here: Pokémon egg Solar Dragon 16:20, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
I added it in and you removed it. Turtwig A Contributions Talk 16:22, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
Whoops. Sorry about that. Solar Dragon 16:24, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Actually, I believe this page and, eventually, others like it better demonstrate these Pokémon.--MisterE13 18:42, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Well I created this because it was on the wanted pages. Turtwig A Contributions Talk 20:30, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
And, it seems to show every gift Pokemon in all generations as taht list you gave was just event Pokemon, not gifts. Solar Dragon 20:31, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

More information

Maybe we should expand this from a list to having more information on the Pokémon. Such as levels, moves, abilities and stuff like that? Solar Dragon 18:30, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

That goes into the "List of in-game event Pokémon in Generation X" article. This one is more of an overview. Not that it's done particularly well atm. More than one line of actual text would be fantabulous. —darklordtrom 19:15, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

HG/SS Gift Pokemon

I have got most of them from Serebii.net but does anyone know whether Kenya, the Spearow, is available again? Solar Dragon 13:01, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Yes, but the nickname is not yet confirmed as far as I'm aware. —darklordtrom 21:46, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Yes. Thanks for that. I always keep it and have used it in my party a lot. I don't know why. I just do. Solar Dragon 21:52, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Pokétopia

Should Pokétopia be noted in this article. Turtwig A Contributions Talk 21:07, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

I don't know. Can you count them as gift Pokémon? Well, they are not given by a trainer. They may go into a sub-section of the Given by other trainers part or that could be sectioned off. Solar Dragon 19:28, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
That is true so I don't think it should be included. Turtwig A Contributions Talk 19:30, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
And, you don't get given them. You get them delivered by the guy in the Pokémarts. They are techincally yours and you are not given them as gifts. They may want some mention though. Solar Dragon 19:33, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

Anime and Manga

Should Pokémon in the Anime and Manga count? Turtwig A Contributions Talk 03:02, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

Yep. Focus on all canons. —darklordtrom 05:43, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
Starter Pokémon need to be included as well. Solar Dragon 19:33, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

Haunter

Should Haunter count as a Gift Pokémon. Turtwig A Contributions Talk 19:41, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

Well, it sort of decided to stay with her, Ash didn't give it to her, so I would say no. Solar Dragon 19:44, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

Obtained in Trades

Shouldn't Pokemon obtained in trades be here too? It would keep up with sitewise consistency as many articles have trade Pokemon under Gift Pokemon heading. They could go into another section or just link it to the other article to do with in-game trade Pokemon. Solar Dragon 20:08, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

I guess. Turtwig A Contributions Talk 20:28, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

Order

The In the Anime Section is all over the place, but I would like other people's opinions before changing it. Should it be changed to have the Pokémon in ndex order or chronologically by episode? Werdnae (talk) 20:40, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

I say by character and then in order by episode. Turtwig A Contributions Talk 20:42, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
Okay, I ordered it. Turtwig A Contributions Talk 21:25, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

Starter Pokémon

I know they technically qualify as Gift Pokémon, but we already have an article about Starter Pokémon that lists them there. Is it necessary to list them here as well?--Purimpopoie 00:54, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

Is Eevee considered?

The eevee you get on generation III, is it really counted as gift pokemon? It is just sitting there on the counter, and there was no actual trainer to give it to you.

Bianca's Pignite

Okay, I just rewatched BW013. She clearly never stated how she got Pignite other than she got it as a Tepig, and trained it at home before leaving on her journey. So someone needs to state clearly what episode and what scene she states how she got Pignite. Just reverting and saying "She does say!" doesn't get the point across. List organization?

I was wondering if these lists would look better with mutually-exclusive Pokemon combined into a single list item.

For example, instead of:

It could be:

What do you think? --Stratelier 18:57, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

I know it's an old post, but I fully support this change. I actually came to the Talk page to suggest this. Tehb0ll0x (talk) 23:00, 28 February 2013 (UTC)

Fossils

Do fossils have their place in this section ? Chiwingum (talk) 21:27, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

I'd say it depends. The fossils like the one in the Kanto games should be fine since they were actually given, but the other types of fossils shouldn't since those are only found in the wild. They are only really resurrected by the scientist. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 21:32, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

Second Kalos Starter in Gen. VI

After entering the Hall of Fame, Shauna gives you a level 5 Kalos starter of the same species as hers. This wasn't included, should it be? SamurottMaster4747 (talk) 30 November 2013 23:28 (UTC)

No, it shouldn't be included, as it's a trade. --NOBODY (talk) 01:04, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

Organization

Considering that Diamond/Pearl, and Platinum are combined, while Black/White and Black 2/White 2 are separate, I think there should be something done about how this page is put together. Any thoughts? -- Pringles 02:22, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

DPPt have almost identical gift Pokemon, while BW and B2W2 have almost entirely different gift Pokemon (aside from the starters). I don't see the problem with how it's set up now. Splitting up DPPt would be a redundant waste of space, and putting together BW and B2W2 would be confusing and overcomplicated. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 02:30, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

Abbreviations

I... uh... kinda need someone to either teach me how to do the superscript for the game abbreviations or do it for me, under the Togepi Egg in ORAS. Need to note the difference, y'know, between Groudon and Kyogre's games. -MarioMiner

Latia/os

Does the Latios/Latias given in-game via the Steven Stone event count as a gift Pokemon? It isn't given by any person, but it certainly is given as a gift, and works 100% with Synchronize.--Wowy(Talk) 10:19, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

I'm not sure if it's possible for that to fit our definition of a gift Pokemon. It's possible the game's distinction may simply be, Synchronize works like that for any Pokemon that's not encountered in a battle or traded (or received from Mystery Gift or Pokemon Link?).
