Opinion

Its resistance to Dark is impossibly useful in dealing with Ttars that decide to use Crunch, and the ilk.

Can we remove the opinion from all of thsoe segments? They don't really state too much competitive truth, sometimes...Evkl 06:43, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Question

Generic question regarding the organization of all the type pages. Is there an appreciable difference between dual-types with a type (Fighting) as Type 2 or Fighting as Type 1? For example, Medicham is listed as a Fighting/Psychic type while Gallade is a Psychic/Fighting type. Beyond the order in which their types are listed in their summaries, is there a difference? Drake Clawfang 01:22, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

It's half-Fighting and half-(other type) no matter what order it's in, so it doesn't really matter. Personally, the only way it would matter is with a Pokémon like Gallade (Psychic-Fighting) or Breloom (Grass-Fighting), since their other eveloutions are only a single type. Diachronos 16:08, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
Most of the time the Pokémon would have stats, moves, appearence, and abilities that match their primary type more than their secondary type. Here's an example: Gallade/Medicham. Gallade can have more Psychic moves than Fighting moves and vice-versa with Medicham. Saybleye/Spiritomb: Spiritomb looks way more like a ghost than Saybleye. Sean... Edited

I'm sorry, but who wrote that Fighting is weak defensively? That's very untrue, and whoever wrote it clearly has very little knowledge of the game. I edited this out. Lulz 16:33, 26 June 2008 (EST)

Yea, you could have just put it in your edit summary... TESHIGIGAS 20:41, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
He/she wrote that because Dark and Rock can't affect it, and Psychic and Flying are uncommon. Actually, as a player progresses into the late stages of a game, many Psychic and Flying Pokémon appear. So, there's no problem editing it. FireHazard 02:10, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Trivia

That bug and fighting are one of two pairs that effect each other in the same way should be specified. Lots of pairings of types have normal damage both ways.. Kanjo 12:44, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Should the Challenge Rock in Pinwheel Forest be mentioned, as a Fighting-type Pokémon is required to receive the Star Piece from the Challenge Rock? --Enervation 21:45, 10 August 2011 (UTC)

Error

It says Triple Kick is a Beauty contest move but the page for Triple Kick says its a Cool move. This needs to be fixed up.--Lycos Ex Mortis 10:04, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

I'm not sure if somebody has just overlooked this or if you are getting around to it, but the move "Overhead Throw", which has an article for itself, is not listed on the moves list. Somebody more knowledgeable about editing than I am should fix this. --ACHubbard 17:58, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

Error in the Trivia

In the trivia section, it states, "As of Generation V, the Fighting type is the only type that has not been paired with the Flying-type." Isn't this incorrect, seeing as it still hasn't been paired with the ghost, dragon, electric, ice, or ground types either yet?

Not sure if I just read it wrong or not, but I just want to clear up any confusion I may have. Omnis 15:31, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

It means that every type has been paired with Flying but Fighting, not the other way around--Cold (talk) 15:32, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

Agreed, but it is an easy mistake to make. And to confirm, there is Drifblim, Emolga, Salamence, Articuno, and Landorus as examples for Fill-in-the-blank/Flying types. EvilKirikizan 22:57, 24 April 2011 (UTC)

"They also usually fall to Psychic moves in one turn, due to a low Special Defense"

Whoever wrote this must not be aware of the Special Split that happened nearly 10 years ago. Back in R/B/Y when there was only one Special stat, all Fighting types had very low Special, but the thing is that this is based on their SPECIAL ATTACK stat and NOT their future Special Defense. When G/S were released the Kanto Fighting types had either slightly higher Special Defense than there Defense stat (Machamp's is 85 compared to it's 80 Defense, and ALL Hitmons have 110 Special Defense where none of their Defense stats are higher than Hitmontop's Base 95 Defense). Even lesser Fighting types like Primeape and Poliwrath had either equal or greater Special Defense (Poliwrath is the only fully evolved Kanto Fighting type to have a lower Special Defense, but the difference between it's Defense is very small and both are Base 90 or higher). The other IMPORTANT thing to notice is that BOTH statistical averages for Fighting type stats have Special Defense higher than their Defense stats (And if I haven't said so already, the REAL lowest stat is Special ATTACK, not Special Defense). So if this could be modified and replaced with mentions of low Special Attack instead of low Special Defense this would be greatly appreciated. Shiramu Kuromu 00:19, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Super Effective Against Steel

You can't explain that. But seriously, what is the rational behind this type's effectiveness against Steel? Might be a thing worthy of adding to the the trivia section. --Blaziken=Tahu 01:14, 9 November 2011 (UTC)

Focus punch

unless i'm just not seein it, focus punch seems to be omitted from the list of moves DimensionBreak Gzig 05:46, 24 November 2011 (UTC)

Its been added, good pick up. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 06:59, 24 November 2011 (UTC)

That is clerely your opinion

Another Trivia Error

The trivia is inconsistent about the amount of Fighting types introduced in each gen. One trivia tidbit says Gen 5 introduced the most, only for it to say a little bit further down that Gen 1 introduced the most. Not only that, it says Gen 1 introduced 9 Fighting types, instead of the correct eight. SkyEmerald (talk) 01:36, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

The trivia bit further down is referring to moves not Pokémon. :-) Frozen Fennec 01:45, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

Trivia

"All of the legendary golems are weak to Fighting-type moves. " Is this really notable? All of the legendary birds are weak to Rock, all of the legendary pixies are weak to Dark, Ghost, and Bug, all of the Forces of Nature are weak to Ice. What makes this particular bit of trivia notable?--Skaisdead (talk) 12:33, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

The other trios share a weakness just because they also share a type.--Den Zen 12:47, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
It still seems inconsequential. --Skaisdead (talk) 09:42, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

Repeated Trivia

In two different parts in the trivia section, it is stated twice that "Fighting is the only former physical type to have all damaging moves retain their physical category". Should this be removed, and if so, should the second sentence of this bullet point be removed as well? Rmac524 (talk) 01:46, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

Oh, there it is, under the parallels to Psychic. If a trivia point's listed twice, why would you remove the first instance? It should only take a minor tweak to the wording to fix that. glikglak 02:02, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

Anime only

Can it be added that Arena Tycoon Greta is a Fighting-type specialist, even though this only seems true in the anime? WATERWarrior67 19:16, 27 September 2014 (UTC)

No, "type specialist" only applies to the games. ☼ BlazingFist ☼ 19:30, 27 September 2014 (UTC)

Tallest Fighting-type Legendary

I don't know if this would be notable trivia or not (probably not, but I just want to know), but is Arceus (while holding a Fist Plate) the tallest Fighting-type Legendary or is it Mewtwo (in Mega Evolution X form)? Just asking! WATERWarrior67 21:10, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

That's three qualifiers: height, type, and legendary. Way too specific. I think/IMO even height+type is too specific. Tiddlywinks (talk) 22:42, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
