"She is also the only Electric-type Gym Leader not to use a member of the Pikachu evolutionary line; this is due to the fact that Pikachu are not found in Isshu. "

  • Uhm.... What about Wattson? oh, wait, he uses Raichu later

Official Art?

I found a scan from Corocoro with the official art of her, but there's a lot of text on it. That said, would it still be okay to post the picture even if there's text on it, at least until there's cleaner art of her? Loveon 05:16, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

I don't think so. I've seen that scan, and if I recall correctly the sheer amount of text would distract heavily from the image. I say wait. --AndyPKMN 12:03, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
I think any art is better than no art. --SnorlaxMonster 12:43, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
Bumping this because I found the image in question unused on the Archives. I don't see why we shouldn't use this, I agree that cropped or text-covered art is still better than no art. We used to put up crappy magazine scans of the new BW Pokémon, remember? --ZestyCactus 22:23, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I had uploaded that and posted the picture in the profile. But then someone took it down. So... what should we do? Loveon 00:12, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

Military Clothes?

I think she's the first Electric type gym leader that isn't wearing some form of military-type clothing. Something for the trivia section maybe? --Bulbafreak9000 03:10, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

It's been added and removed like ten times already. Lt. Surge is the only one who wears a true military suit. The others are just opinions. --ケンジガール 03:13, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

Trivia

  • Kamitsure is always depicted wearing corded headphones; however, they aren't connected to any device.

Yeah, she obviously was drawn that way, but still it makes no sence. Why she has this earphones and why they are corded? That's what I wanted to point.

  • Also this. I don't actually know, who she is, but they obviously have some similarities, should we note it? --ЫъГЬ 14:03, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
It's pokémon, does anything have to make complete sense? For all we know, the device could be "in" the headphones. BabyRuRu 04:19, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
Isn't Kamitsure the only Gym Leader to use two of the same Pokémon with identical movesets? Giratina's Embodiment - Please don't hurt us... 16:49, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
No, I checked it already. Janine, Koga and Jasmine (maybe someone else) also use two identical pokemon. Kamitsure it the only one from Generation V though. --ЫъГЬ 17:19, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
  • Can we note that she's supposedly a model? Or is that just a rumor?

And the fact that both her and Volkner are electric type gym leaders with blonde hair, blue eyes, can be encountered outside their gym and their sprite is sitting (or, er, reclining) is creeping me out. Is that trivia-worthy? Eh? BabyRuRu 04:19, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

Regarding the fact that she is model, a boy from the building on the west side of Striaton City states it. — ∀ЫъГѣTalk page 11:15, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

Japanese name

I thought it was Kamitsure, not Kamiture. --☆YoshisWorld☆ 17:55, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

"Kamiture" spelling appeared in PokeSpe on the headbands of Elesa's cheering squad. I think that someone has treated it too seriously. I'd take it with a grain of salt. --Maxim 18:01, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

The thing is, if you know how the Japanese "alphabet" works, you know that things written 'tu' in romaji are pronounced 'tsu' (not all anymore since the new katakana syllable addition), but if you don't... The Japanese doesn't have a 'tu' syllable that is pronounced as 'tu', the ta-row goes ta, chi, tsu, te, to, but in Japanese keyboards, you only need to put in 'tu' because Japanese people know. Sorry for the long bla, I guess what I want to say is that her name IS Kamitsure, and the other spelling was probably for Japanese people (or people familiar with the Japanese writing system), but it is highly confusing for the average Bulbapedia user in terms of pronunciation. - unsigned comment from Eevee-Girl (talkcontribs)

You see, while Hepburn romanization dictates that つ and ツ are "tsu", official romanizations can vary greatly from Hepburn. For example, virtually all Pokémon names have official romanizations which are different from their literal romanizations. The idea here is that it was officially romanized as "Kamiture" (in PokéSpe), so that is where the name came from. --SnorlaxMonster 13:55, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

Infatuation with trainer?

Elesa seems to have fallen for Black/White, based on some of her dialogue. Is this possible?

VendettatheGreat 21:40, 6 February 2012 (UTC)VendettatheGreat

Specifically which dialogue are you referring to? I don't see it. We have everything she says in-game on the page. --SnorlaxMonster 11:18, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Error in Elesa's article

In the article, it says Elesa debuted in Black and White, but she did not make her debut until Black and White: Rival Destinies. Proof of this is that when Ash and co. saw Elesa for the first time, they didn't recognize her, and this was in the first episode of Black and White: Rival Destinies. (Charizard101 22:18, 18 February 2012 (UTC))

It says for the Main game series that she debuts in Black & White and for the anime series it states she debuted in the episode Enter Elesa, Electrifying Gym Leader!. Don't see how either of those are an error. Frozen Fennec 18:09, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
He saw "Black and White" as the anime season, not the game pair--SandmanDP 18:11, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, that's what I thought, SandmanDP. Just a simple mistake, thanks. (Charizard101 22:18, 18 February 2012 (UTC))

Lipica Shah didn't voice her

On her Facebook page she states that she voiced the battle judge. http://www.facebook.com/actresslipicashah?sk=wall&filter=2

Eileen Stevens

Honestly I think it's Eileen Stevens who did the voice of Elesa. Sounds exactly like her. Anyone else agree with me? (DTJMan 01:27, 20 February 2012 (UTC))

It doesn't quite matter who people think voiced who. When we're at a loss, we typically ask the officials. Unfortunately in my case, one person's ill and likely won't be online for a while, and the other has yet to respond. So let's wait till we get official word. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 01:31, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

Yes that sounds fine. But its more than a thought of mine. And not to be too blunt about it but it's quite obvious that it's her. Correct me if I'm wrong please. But getting the official word is the right way to go about it of course. (DTJMan 01:35, 20 February 2012 (UTC))

What do you mean officials? サトシ 00:29, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
We have contact with many of the voice actors, and they're usually the ones that provide this sort of information, that way we're always accurate. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 12:41, 1 April 2012 (UTC)

Elesa's attire

Notice that in the anime, her sholder blades are visible and her navel is covered...
File:Elesa Adventures.png
...while it's vise versa in the manga?

On BW069, when Cilan had to crossdress as Elesa, I saw that when he was holding her shirt that it had skin tone patches, but on a picture of her in the manga, her navel was showing, meaning that the skin tone patches were her skin. Also, in the anime, Elesa's shoulder blades are visible, indicating that the top patch is showing that part of her chest, yet when Cilan was holding her shirt in BW069, it was a skin tone cloth at that area. Should someone mention in the Trivia section that her shirt is drawn inconsistent on multiple occasions and various sources? PKMNAdventurer 18:04, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

I do not think so. I feel the clothes during the contest were simply costume garbs, and not exactly what the person wears. For example, that obviously wasn't really Alder's hair, nor could Alder's clothes really fit Ash. So I think Elesa's was simply a costume and made it for people that didn't want to show off their actual skin. This actually isn't all that uncommon for costumes, for people who are a bit more modest than others. So no, I don't personally feel we need to point it out. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 21:11, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
Ok. Thanks. :) PKMNAdventurer 21:27, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

Black Hair?

If anyone has seen the recent anime-style trailer for B/W2, I noticed that Elesa's hair color changed from yellow to black. Not sure if this is okay to add to the page, but I thought I'd mention it. Schiffy 19:22, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

I would think its OK, I'm not an admin, but if I were I'd say yes, but don't say black hair in specific, I'd just say a new attire. Lucario985 Chowolun 19:28, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
